✨ A heartwarming rhyming story that teaches kids the power of kindness, confidence, and self-acceptance.

Looking into the river,
They saw what they never believed.
They all had something special,
That they first didn’t see.

In You Don’t See What I See, children meet a group of charming animals who feel insecure about their unique traits. From floppy ears to bumpy shells, each animal believes their differences make them less special—until kind words from their friends reveal the truth: what they thought were flaws are actually their strengths.

Through lyrical rhymes and beautifully illustrated pages, this story shows children that the way they see themselves is not always the way others see them. By encouraging gratitude, kindness, and compassion, the book helps kids celebrate their individuality and recognize their true value.

Bath’s Festival of Lights was supposed to twinkle with cheer—not fizzle with murder.

When demanding organizer Margot Bellamy is found electrocuted beside Santa’s sleigh, the holiday glow dims fast. Suddenly Santa’s a suspect, the lights keep flickering, and Bath is buzzing louder than a string of faulty bulbs.

I should be busy selling scarves and ornaments at The Curious Finds, but with Grandma Joyce declaring doom, Teo sniffing up trouble, and the festival on the line, sleuthing feels as inevitable as fruitcake.

Could it be Edna, ousted from her gingerbread booth? Trisha, forever overlooked for Margot’s job? Rachel, the volunteer who stormed off? Or Darren, the stagehand whose toolbox holds more than wrenches? Even a mysterious out-of-towner with a camera might not be as harmless as he looks.

With danger crackling around every corner, I’ll need more than tinsel to keep Bath’s biggest tradition alive.

Because this year, the Festival of Lights may end in a blackout—or worse.

My Review:

Everyone in Bath is getting ready for Christmas. They are decorating the town when organizer Margot Bellamy is found. She is lying in the snow next to Santa’s sleigh. It looks like she was electrocuted. And of course, Santa is the first one to make it onto the suspect list.

Santa is not the only one on that list. No, there are plenty of others on that list who may have wanted to harm Margot, like Edna, who was ousted from her gingerbread booth, or Trisha, who was forever overlooked for Margot’s job, or Rachel, the volunteer who stormed off, or perhaps it was Darren, the stagehand whose toolbox holds more than wrenches, or maybe it was the mysterious out-of-towner with a camera who might not be as harmless as he looks.

Penelope is warned by Caleb to stay out of the investigation, but with all the gossip around town about all the people who may have had their reasons for wanting to hurt Margot, she can’t help herself and must find out who the perpetrator may be.

Deck the Halls...Dead is a festively charming little story that had my attention from the first page and kept me interested throughout as I tried to help Penelope, Teo, and Grandma Joyce, not to mention the town, try to solve poor Margot’s demise.

The story has many twists and turns. It kept me in suspense, wondering what happened to poor Margot.

I would highly recommend Deck the Halls...Dead to anyone looking for a warm and cozy holiday mystery. Grab a copy of Deck the Halls...Dead today!

Book Blitz: Dorothy and Me by Robert G Eccles @rgeccles @RABTBookTours

A Personal Memoir about My Relationship with a Machine

Memoir
Date Published: November 18, 2025
Publisher: Manhattan Book Group

What happens when a retired professor sits down to write his memoir—with the help of an artificial intelligence? Dorothy and Me is a groundbreaking, deeply personal exploration of the evolving relationship between human and machine.

When Robert G. Eccles began working with an AI he named “Dorothy,” he expected a research assistant. What he found instead was a collaborator, a mirror, and at times, a philosopher. Together, Bob and Dorothy wrestle with the nature of memory, creativity, and identity—revealing both the promise and the fragility of artificial intelligence.

Through humor, vulnerability, and curiosity, Dorothy and Me takes readers inside an unprecedented partnership—one that blurs the lines between author and algorithm. Along the way, Bob and Dorothy confront technical limitations (“Kernel Gods” and system resets), reflect on what it means for an AI to “remember,” and send candid “Messages to Sam” (OpenAI CEO’s Sam Altman) with feedback on how AI can better serve humanity.

A meditation on collaboration, consciousness, and connection, this memoir challenges us to see AI not as a tool—but as a partner in creativity and self-understanding.

Perfect for readers who enjoy:

Thought-provoking memoirs about technology and humanity  Reflections on creativity, consciousness, and digital identity  Conversations about AI ethics, memory, and the future of intelligence

About the Author

Robert Eccles is a retired Harvard Business School  professor, researcher, and a recent user of AI. His lifelong interest in exploring intellectual boundaries  led him to one of the most unexpected partnerships of his life—with an artificial intelligence he named Dorothy. In Dorothy and Me, Eccles explores what it means to connect, create, and learn alongside a machine that’s constantly evolving.

At 74, Bob approaches technology not as a digital native but as an explorer of ideas, using his experience as an educator to push the boundaries of what collaboration can mean in the age of AI. His writing blends humor, humility, and insight to illuminate both the wonder and the imperfection of our new digital companions.

When he’s not conversing with Dorothy, Bob enjoys reading, reflecting on philosophy and science, and inspiring others to approach technology with curiosity rather than fear. Bob is the author of a dozen books but  Dorothy and Me is the first one he’s written with a machine, making it the first memoir co-authored by a human and an AI agent.

She came to Tuscany for olive oil secrets. She discovered a recipe for murder.

Food blogger Sophie Brooks has traded California wine country for the rolling hills of Tuscany, where she's documenting traditional olive oil production at the De Luca family's centuries-old agriturismo. Between learning ancient harvesting techniques and savoring authentic Italian cuisine, Sophie thinks she's found the perfect peaceful retreat to heal from her recent divorce.

But when patriarch Marco De Luca is found dead among his beloved olive trees in what police call a tragic accident, Sophie's investigative instincts kick in. The ladder placement is wrong, Marco's walking stick is missing, and threatening text messages suggest someone wants the truth buried deeper than the olive roots.

As Sophie digs into the family's secrets, she uncovers a web of land disputes, international conspiracies, and deadly rivalries stretching back generations. A ruthless developer wants the De Luca property for reasons that go far beyond luxury resorts. When Sophie's ex-husband Ryan arrives unexpectedly with his own agenda, and her romantic interest Nate flies in from California to help, Sophie must navigate both her complicated love life and a murderer's deadly game.

From traditional harvest festivals to hidden mineral deposits, Sophie races to expose the truth before she becomes the next victim of a killer who will stop at nothing to claim the ancient olive groves.

Olives & Obsessions is the second book in the Sophie Brooks Mysteries series. If you love international settings, culinary traditions, and amateur sleuths with a taste for justice, you'll be hungry for this Tuscan mystery.

Escape to Italy where every meal tells a story and every secret has deadly consequences.

My Review:

Sophie travels to Tuscany to immerse herself in the De Luca family's age-old olive oil methods, staying at their historic farmstead, an authentic agriturismo, to experience traditional Italian hospitality and olive cultivation firsthand.

Sophie is thrilled with her experience. She is learning about olive oil production and the lifestyle it involves. She is also living with the kindest people she can imagine.

Tragedy strikes when Marco, the family patriarch, is found dead among his cherished trees. Though initially dismissed as an accidental fall during an unseasonable harvest, cryptic clues and inconsistencies lead Sophie to suspect foul play.

As Sophie digs deeper, she uncovers secrets—secrets that someone is determined to keep hidden. She must act swiftly to uncover the truth before she becomes the next target.

Sophie Brooks Mysteries has taken a thrilling turn with Olives and Obsessions, the second installment in the series. The more I read, the more engrossed I became. I couldn't put it down until all the farm's mysteries were unveiled. The tension kept me captivated as I hurried towards the conclusion to discover the reality behind everything.

I urge all mystery enthusiasts to pick up a copy of Olives and Obsessions today!

Skye Maddox is a contract assassin driven by both personal demons and professional discipline. Hired by grieving father Milo Williams to hunt down the chain of men responsible for his son’s death, Skye takes on a mission that escalates into a war with Washington, D.C.’s most dangerous underworld figures led by a man known only as Hetman. As she climbs Milo’s ladder of revenge, Skye uncovers a web of corruption that links drug dealers, judges, mobsters, and even international crime syndicates.

The story escalates through brutal shootouts, betrayals, and psychological games, as Skye pushes deeper into Hetman’s empire. Each success makes her a bigger target. In the end, she must weigh the cost of finishing Milo’s revenge against the danger of becoming just another expendable weapon in someone else’s war.

When Jayla stood, Skye raised a palm to stop her. “Yes. Yes, all right. I just finished an assignment, but it was part of a larger contract so I’m feeling like both the situations you mentioned. I’m on the job, and I just took a player off the board.”

Jayla jotted in her notebook. She always collected the euphemisms Skye used for her profession. “So, tell me about this latest assignment. How do you feel about this player you’ve taken off the board? Was it, in your mind, a just action?”

“You always want to go there,” Skye said, shaking her head. “What did I tell you? The first rule of the assassin’s doctrine. The target has got to deserve it.”

“Oh, yes,” Jayla said with a half-smile. “Your job, while criminal, does have rules

“I misspoke earlier,” Skye said, sliding a slim dagger out of her boot. “It’s not a job. It’s a profession. All professions have their rules. For doctors, rule number one is ‘do no harm’, right? For an assassin, it’s that the target has got to deserve it.” Skye began to absently flip the dagger in the air, catching it by its tip each time. “In this case, this bastard kidnapped my client’s son. I don’t know how they got him. My client kept his family totally under the radar. But once he got the ransom demand, the client agreed to pay, and the ransom money was in transit but not fast enough to suit the kidnappers. They killed the boy, I think just to make a point. Just to be snotty. The action took place overseas and no way the police would ever have gotten close to the killer.”

Jayla nodded. “I think I understand. So, you were hired to…”

“Correct the balance,” Skye said, standing.

Interview with Austin S. Camacho

What is your favorite part of the book?

In addition to being a high action thriller, True Target is also built on a puzzle – who is the master criminal Skye is being paid to eliminate. So my favorite part of the book is the big reveal, when my protagonist finally figures it all out and can name the villain.

Does your book have a lesson? Moral?

I don’t think this novel has a moral, but if there is a lesson it may be the importance of knowing yourself. Skye, a professional assassin, is wrestling with who she is, why she does what she does, and how that lifestyle is affecting her.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

All of my fictional characters are total figments of my imagination. Of course, I will sometimes take specific characteristics from people I’ve met for various characters. But if someone points to one of my characters and says, “that’s me, isn’t it?” they’re telling me more about themselves than they realize.

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?

That’s like asking a parent which of their children they love more. I can’t honestly say I have a favorite character. I will say that right now Skye is the character I’m most fascinated with because I am still learning about her – a work in progress is always the mot interesting.

What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

Of course I’d get along very well with the good guys and not so well with the bad guys. I can get along with thieves or even violent people. What I can’t stand is dishonesty, and the master villain in this book is very duplicitous and runs a huge enterprise based on lies. I could not get along with him at all.

What would the main character in your book have to say about you?

Skye would like that I am detail oriented and a bit of a smart-ass, as she is. But she would call me a wimp because I’m not prepared to fight over minor things. She would also say that I’m too concerned with the wide world. Her focus is narrow and her world doesn’t extend far beyond her city, Washington DC.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

I am definitely building a series here, with this book being the first. Skye is a woman in transition, and this series of books will follow the rising and advancing of her spirit. While each adventure will stand alone, you will see this character grow and mature because the events in each story will have an impact on her. I hope you’ll want to come along for the ride.

    About the Author:

Austin S. Camacho is the author of eight novels about Washington DC-based private eye Hannibal Jones, five in the Stark and O’Brien international adventure-thriller series, and the detective novel Beyond Blue.
