Sixteen-year-old Marci
Guerrero is one of the best teen hackers in Seattle. However, she’d give up all
her talents to know she isn’t crazy.
Marci feels possessed by what
she perceives as shadowy spectres that take control of her body and make her do
crazy things. While spying on the clandestine group known as IgNiTe, she’s
confronted by the leader, James McCray. His presence stirs the spectres inside
her brain into a maddening frenzy. Her symptoms and ability to control them
don’t go unnoticed by James, who soon recruits her and shows her the awful
truth.
Half of the world’s
population is infected by sentient parasites. They bind themselves to the human
brain and replace the pathways for all thoughts and actions. The creatures then
morph their hosts into grotesque monsters with extraordinary strengths. Winged,
clawed, fanged half-humans become living nightmares. Now Marci wishes she was
crazy, because the truth is worse.
She’s infected.
Ingrid Seymour is the author
of IGNITE THE SHADOWS (Harper Voyager). When she’s not writing books, she

On The Rocks
By Elizabeth Morgan
Publisher: Elizabeth Morgan
Genre: F/F, Erotic
Paranormal, Horror
Length: 6,000 words
BLURB:
If the warped mermaid uniform isn’t enough, the fact that she can’t stop thinking about the club’s singer, Zenzie, is. Everything about the female gets Meghan hot, but when she finally gets her shot with the temptress, it turns out Zenzie isn’t as perfect, or as human, as Meghan thought.
EXCERPT:
Her
warm breath skated down my neck, causing a shiver to curl around my spine. She
straightened then slid her hands through my hair. My eyelids fluttered at the
feel of her fingertips stroking over my temples and along my hairline.
“I saw you
watching us.”
I stared at her.
“Excuse me?”
“Do you like
watching?” She retrieved a few items from the vanity table, twisted two
sections of my hair, and pushed the hair clips into place. “It’s all right. You
can tell me, Meghan.”
My nipples
tightened at the husky way she said my name. The knot between my legs pulsed
under her piercing stare. I had no idea how, or even why she managed to get
under my skin, but God, I wanted her.
“I’m not a
pervert or anything.”
“I know you’re
not.” She slid a chain of small red flowers into the black mass of my hair.
“I just heard a
noise. I guess my curiosity got the best of me.” I shifted on my seat. “I’m
sorry—”
“Don’t be. I
liked you watching.”
My nails dug
into my knees as her hands moved down my throat, her skin like satin, her touch
soft. She ran her fingertips over the top of my breasts.
“I would have
asked you to join us, if you hadn’t run.” Her gaze caught mine again while she
slid her hand inside my skin-tone bra and cupped my left breast. “Will you run
now, or will you do what we both know you want to do?”

Humans sit comfortably at the summit of the food chain; rarely does any other animal get the advantage. But other people? Now there's something to fear.
In Mell Corcoran's thrilling crime novel debut, Shadows of Doubt, women are being hunted, tortured, killed and their assailant leaves the same clue on each of them but it has no scientific explanation. Detective Lou Donovan must figure out this killer's signature because he's escalating and no one knows where he will strike next.
When the first victim appears in Shadow of Doubt Lou nor her partner wants the case but it's shoved in their laps. As soon as they make some progress, however, the case is taken from them and the explanation is weak at best. Lou won't let go and tries to work below the radar but she's foiled at every turn. It's as if someone is watching her and knows her every move.

An affluent community, a gruesome crime scene and zero forensic evidence. Three headless bodies and an empty house are all detectives have to go on and the clock is ticking. In this second installment in a Series of Shadows, Detective Lou Donovan is back on the case barely recovered from her brush with death in Shadows of Doubt. Despite her life being turned upside down after stumbling upon a world she never knew existed, Lou must adapt and face her new circumstances in a hurry before more bodies start piling up.
In this intense and complex case, Lou and her team must figure out who their headless victims are, who would go to such elaborate lengths and why. As they dig, they uncover more questions than answers. On top of that, Lou must deal with being assigned a new partner and the problems that adds to the mix.
Is a notorious drug cartel behind these brutal slayings or is something far more evil behind the scenes? Sometimes the truth is better left in the shadows.

The Congressman’s Wife
by Charlene
Keel
GENRE: Contemporary
Romance
BLURB:
All Eden Bancroft has
ever been to her high-profile politician husband is a trophy wife, born and
bred for the part. She believes she has no choice but to play it—until she
meets a talented chef and restaurant heir who makes her feel loved for herself
alone. The more her husband uses and belittles her, the more deeply Eden falls
for Kaleb. Even with Mitchell’s congressional campaign in full swing, the
lovers manage to find brief stolen moments together. When her husband is
wounded by a bullet from a disgruntled lobbyist, Eden must stay by his side.
What she learns can set her free, if she has the courage to take a stand.
Excerpt:
Kaleb had been standing close enough
to hear it all—not that he’d intended to eavesdrop. He only wanted to try and give her some kind
of signal—to beg, if necessary—to get a moment alone with her. When he heard her husband’s caustic words,
Kaleb wanted to punch him. He wanted to
take Eden’s hand and lead her out of there, away from the complete jackass her
husband seemed to be.
Instead, he followed her into the
room where coats were checked for the evening.
The maid who’d taken them was nowhere about, and Eden was digging
through the racks when Kaleb walked in.
She looked up, surprised.
“We need to talk about it,” he said.
“About what?” She found her wrap and Mitchell’s Brooks
Brothers overcoat, draped them over one arm and turned to face him.
“About this thing between us.”
“That’s not very original.”
“I feel it and I know you feel it.”
“Look, I’m very flattered,” she
began but he cut her off.
“We don’t have much time.” He moved closer, aching to touch her. “Your husband will come looking for you any
minute. Just tell me when and where I
can see you again. Alone.”
“You can’t,” she said. “My husband is running for congress. It’s . . . it would be impossible.”
“No,” he insisted. “I don’t know why we met or how we’re going to
pull this off but I do know one thing.”
He was speaking so softly now that she had to move closer to hear him.
“What?” she asked, her lips just
inches from his own. They were of equal
height and he could see how well, how perfectly, they would fit together.
“I won’t give up. I want to make love to you.”
“At least once?” she countered.
He moved closer still. “Once will never be enough for us. You know that, too.”
She sighed, lightly, and her sweet
breath lingered on his cheek for a moment before she moved away and broke the
spell.
“My husband is waiting for me,” she
said. “You’re a little crazy, you
know? You need to forget about
this. I’m married. I have kids.
I don’t have time for an affair.”
“Have lunch with me.”
“Sorry—too busy.”
“Just let me talk to you. Give me two hours—maybe over the
weekend. Then if you never want to hear
from me again, that’ll be it. I swear.”
She didn’t say anything for a
moment, as if she was considering it. “As
intriguing as that sounds, I’m afraid it’s impossible. I’m going to the season opening at the
Village Resort up in Hunter this weekend, with my best friend.”
“Your husband going too?” Kaleb
persisted.
“No.
He has a previous engagement. Not
that it’s any of your business.”
He opened his mouth to answer but
Mitchell’s voice rang out in the foyer.
“Edie—let’s go. Where are you?”
She flashed Kaleb a warning look and
called out softly, “Coming, Mitchell.”
Then she left, quickly, before her husband could see Kaleb standing in
the shadows.
