EXCERPT:

“We own most of the land in the Tech Center. My father bought up the land thirty years ago before any of this was here. And we lease it out.”

Jesus. What kind of money is that? I can’t even begin to understand it.

“Anyway,” Mac says, standing. “I’m waiting in here for a reason.”

“Is that right?” I stand up too, but my heart beats a little faster when I take him in. He’s wearing a dark gray suit today, a blue shirt that is so light it’s barely a color, and another brilliant cerulean-blue tie that makes his matching eyes shine as they stare into mine.

I don’t know why, but I step backwards. His full attention on me suddenly feels more like a force than a look. He steps forward, hands reaching for me. I bump against the wall, no escape, and then he fists the front of my blouse and rips it open, revealing my silk cami.

My mouth opens in surprise.

He rips the cami apart too. And then, with one forceful whoosh, both garments are lying in a puddle of fabric on the floor.

“What are you doing?” I yell.

The intense stare turns to a boyish smile. “I’d like you topless for breakfast. And I get to call the shots for our dates.”

“Why do I even bother with you? Just why?” I refuse to cross my arms and cover my tits. Fuck him. Just fuck him. “Every time I start to think you’re not a pig, you go and do something like this.”

“It’s fun, right?” His smile never cracks.

“No,” I say. “It’s humiliating.”

“Your tits are nice, Ellie. You should not be ashamed of them.”

“I’m not ashamed of them—”

“Good. Because I’d like to stare at them while we have coffee and discuss our date tonight.”

A knock comes from Mac’s office and I might have a panic attack that someone will come in and find me bare like this.

“Hold that thought,” Mac says, leaning down to kiss my lips. “Breakfast is here. Sit,” he says, pushing on my shoulders until I slump into the window seat again. “I’ll be right back.”

And then he enters his office, pulling our connecting door closed.

I listen to the conversation in there as I look down at my clothes. What the hell was he thinking? The cami is dust. Ripped straight down the middle. At least the silk button-up shirt is only missing all the buttons. I can probably tie it around my waist to make it out to the parking lot, but—

There’s a jingle of a cart and plates. We have… room service? What kind of company has room service?

I guess I’m not all that surprised they have it up here. We have several restaurants on campus. The Atrium has a cafeteria. Maybe this came from the cafeteria?

Mac is laughing on the other side of the door, then I hear a polite thank you just before the sound of a closing door.

The connecting door swings open again and Mac is there, a wide grin on his face. “I hope you like pancakes.”

“This is not happening.”

“Oh, this is happening, Miss Hatcher. You are sitting here.” He points to the middle of the window seat as he pushes the cart towards me.

“I have no clothes, Mac. You ripped my cami. I’m going to have to tie that over-shirt on and go home to change. In fact,” I say, reaching down to get my blouse and pull myself together, “I’m not coming back. I’m done. Just when I think you’re a human, you act like an ape.”

“Would you just relax, Ellie?” He rips the shirt from my hands, balls it up, and then tosses it in the air, where it arcs perfectly and sails into the new trashcan that matches the desk. “Three points,” he says.

“It’s like you live in your own world or something. I think it’s funny that you accused me of living in some delusional fantasy, but you, Mr. Stonewall, you’re a raving lunatic who thinks the world is his asylum.”

“I’m going to take that as a compliment. Now sit. I’ve got it all under control.”

EXCERPT:

Without looking away, I grab the cereal and milk and pour them into my bowl. She takes another bite of her cereal, never taking her eyes off mine as I put the spoon in and taste it.

And then we sit and eat … and stare.

“Okay …” Winston says, and he grabs a newspaper and sits down on a stool in the kitchen and blocks us out while reading.

I don’t care. I’m not talking and neither is she. I’m not going to give her any more excuses to make a run for it, and she’s not telling me what she really thought when she saw me, so …

SMACK!

Something’s stuck to my face.

Sticky … milky … cereal.

And her face. It turns from a full-on frown to full-blown laughter.

She places her hand over her mouth, but it can’t hide her sly smile.

Grinding my teeth, I wipe my face off with a napkin and cock my head at her.

Slowly, I put the spoon back into the bowl, watching her stare as I bring it up to my face.

And then I quickly turn it around and catapult it at her.

It smashes right into her forehead.

I grin as it drips off her, and the smile is wiped off her face immediately.

“Motherfucker,” she growls, and she grabs another spoonful. “Oh, it’s on.”

Suddenly, we’re in an all-out war.

Cereal and milk flies everywhere. Spoons too.

“Hey! Watch it! I just bought new China,” Winston says, putting down his newspaper.

“Eat shit!” Alexis yells, throwing her entire bowl at my face.

I only barely manage to catch the bowl, without its contents … which are now splashed over my chest and the floor.

“Oh, now you’ve done it,” I growl, and I pick up my bowl, stand up, walk toward her … and throw it over the top of her head.

She squeals as the cold milk runs over her body, which only a thin nightgown covers. Her instantly hardening nipples catch my attention. They’re hard to miss, and I swallow back the emerging lust.

“Fuck. You’ll pay for that.”

Her fingers are on my chest before I know it, twisting my nipples.

“Ow! Fuck,” I scream, grabbing her wrists. “No, bad Lexi.”

“Woof,” she says, laughing.

I shake my head, laughing too.

I’m fucking angry she threw her food at me, but it was fucking fun too. I can’t decide which one is more important to feel right now.

But when I look into her eyes, everything ceases to matter.

Virtual Book Tour + #Giveaway: Musings of an Earth Angel by Suzanne Adams @musingsofanEA @GoddessFish

Musings of an Earth Angel
by Suzanne Adams
GENRE: Young Adult/New Adult

BLURB:

22-year-old Samantha Kingston had the perfect job, perfect boyfriend, and perfect Friday nights. When disaster strikes she loses everything and is propelled into a journey where evil and good, dark and light are battling for her destiny. Will the Demon Brigade viciously destroy her? Or will her Angel team and the Divine help her to elevate and see her real truth as an Earth Angel?

EXCERPT:

She paused for a moment to hold my gaze. “Being an Earth Angel isn’t an easy feat. So if you do it with success, your reward after you transition from earth is tenfold.”

Every word she said struck a chord deep within me. “So you are saying I’m an Earth Angel?”

“Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Isn’t it wonderful news?”
I hesitated for a moment at the heaviness of what she was telling me. I knew my life was changing, but this seemed so big, so huge. I was on earth as an angel? Me, a real life angel? I couldn’t believe it—it just didn’t seem like it could actually be true.

“I do feel honored, and this does feel right to me,” I said. “It could be my truth. But it is a little scary, and it’s a lot to take in. What does being an Earth Angel mean, exactly?”

“First of all, please know that it is nothing to be scared of. It is an honor. It means you have special magical gifts and powers that you can offer to help save the world.”

“You mean I can help with the transition of human evolution?” This message had come up repeatedly, and I was starting to somewhat understand.

“Yes. Exactly. You have a complex mission, and it will be unfolded to you in time. But for now, yes you are getting it. The dolphins say hello, and they want to support you in any way they can. They are one of your spirit animals, and they are happy you loved their dance. Their mission is to make humans feel free and alive and to inspire play-like qualities.”

“I am honored to meet them,” I said, as one of the dolphins slid right up to me. I ran my hand across its smooth, slippery skin.

“I have something really special for you,” she said. In her palm she held the most beautiful, sparkling green emerald on a delicate gold chain.

“Wow, what is it? It is stunning.”

“This is an amulet. It was kept hidden in the sea for thousands of years for you. We knew you would need it in this lifetime. If you wear it, it will help protect you. It is from the Atlantean times and will help unlock memories and assist you in remembering all your truth.” She attached the necklace around my neck.

“I love it. It’s so special. Thank you so much.”

“You are doing beautifully, darling. You are on the right path so keep it up. I will be going now, so remember me every time you go for a swim. Try not to stay away from the water for so long.”

She looked at me, put her hands together in front of her heart, and bowed her head like we were at yoga together. She then submerged deep within the water, faster than she appeared. I sat on the rock with tears of joy streaming down my face at learning and realizing my truth.

Author Interview:

What inspired you to write Musings of an Earth Angel?

I did a lot of soul searching and learned about life purpose.  I realized that a big aprt fo my purpose was to teach people about self love and how to live a lfie full of happiness and fulfillment and I wanted to teach some of these things in a fun way.  I decided to write a book where the protagonist learns some fo these lessons in a magical and mystical setting.

When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

About 2 years ago when I got the idea for the book! J

What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

Me reading myself… probably around kindergarten or first grade.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

I love YA trilogies!  I also like other types of trilogies and personal development books.  I like any story where you fall in love with the characters and don’t want to put the book down.

What is your favorite book?

I love the Hunger Game series.

You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

I would say probably Elizabeth Gilbert, because of how authentic she is.

If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?

I would go back during the Atlantis times because I think it is all so fascinating!  Plus, I want to know what really happened to Atlantis.

When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

It is very easy.  As long as I have an idea of sort fo where I want to go with the next few chapters it really just flows.  I meditate daily and I think that really helps with this aspect of writing.

Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

I do not, I am on the go too much unfortunately.  If I did I would love to have a golden doodle! J

What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?

I love fresh organic foods.  A delish salad filled with fresh veggies and fruits with balsamic vinaigrette. Then I would say pizza is definitely a guilty pleasure.

Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

Yes, be persistent and follow your dreams. You wouldn’t have the desire to be an author unless it is something you were born to do!
