EXCERPT:

“I… I guess we can’t deny what’s between us,” she said with her eyes glued to his lips. His eyes went to hers in response.
He shook his head no. “Why are we even trying?”

She stepped back and took a deep breath. She shoved her hands into her pockets and shrugged her shoulders. “I guess there’s no real reason.” She looked up at him again.

Release Day Blitz: Center Ice (Corrigan Falls Raiders) by Cate Cameron @CCameron_Author @NereydaG1003 #YABOUNDBOOKTOURS #Giveaway

Release Date: 05/19/15
Entangled Crush

Summary from Goodreads:
The hometown hockey hero won't know what hit him…

Karen Webber is in small-town hell. After her mother's death, she moved to Corrigan Falls to live with strangers-her dad and his perfect, shiny new family-and there doesn't seem to be room for a city girl with a chip on her shoulder. The only person who makes her feel like a real human being is Tyler MacDonald.

But Karen isn't interested in starting something with a player. And that's all she keeps hearing about Tyler.

Corrigan Falls is a hockey town, and Tyler's the star player. But the viselike pressure from his father and his agent are sending him dangerously close to the edge. All people see is hockey-except Karen. Now they've managed to find something in each other that they both desperately need. And for the first time, Tyler is playing for keeps…

Interview with Cate Cameron:

What do you like best about being a writer? What is the most challenging part?

I like getting to live all the different lives with my characters, creating people who I'd love to hang out with in real life.

I hate… well, honestly, I'm not crazy about promo. I love chatting with people and just getting excited about books and stories and whatever, but I'm always a bit torn when it comes time to mention my own work. I feel like I've just made all these nice friends and now I'm cheapening that by trying to make them spend money! I'm just not a natural salesperson at ALL. So generally I follow the "Best promotion is the next book" approach, and try to do most of my promo via writing more stories!

What does a typical writing day look for you?

When I've got the chance to write full time, I tend to be pretty scattered. Half-an-hour working on a story, then check e-mail and Facebook and writers' boards, then back to the story, then I have to check something out on the internet, then back to writing, then pick up and move to another location, then put in in a load of laundry, then write some more, then check e-mail, etc. I don't really isolate myself and get immersive.

Describe your writing cave.

Have laptop, will travel. I have a home office, but in the winter I'll work in front of the fireplace a lot, and in the summer I like to write outside. I also often get ideas when I'm driving, and will pull over and dictate ideas into my phone so I can try them out when I get home.

The one thing that's in common with all of my writing locations, except for maybe the car, is Jack, my yellow lab. He hears all my story ideas before I type them up, and he approves of every single one. (Which actually shows that he's not a very critical thinker, because some of my ideas are just plain stupid. This is why dogs are very rarely hired to be editors.)

Who is your favorite book boyfriend?

I'm going with Austen, but NOT Mr. Darcy! Persuasion is my favourite Austen novel, and despite the less-than-sexy name, Frederick Wentworth is my favourite Austen hero. He's so patient, and strong, and he forgives Anne and sees her in ways no one else does. Sigh. So romantic!

About the Author
Cate Cameron grew up in the city but moved to the country in her mid-twenties and isn't looking back. Most of her writing deals with people living and loving in small towns or right out in the sticks - when there aren't entertainment options on every corner, other people get a lot more interesting!

She likes to write stories about real people struggling with real issues. YA, NA, or contemporary romance, her books are connected by their emphasis on subtle humor and characters who are trying to do the right thing, even when it would be a lot easier to do something wrong.

Release Day Blitz: Mia and the Bad Boy (Backstage Pass #2) by Lisa Burstein @LisaBurstein @NereydaG1003 #YABOUNDBOOKTOURS #Giveaway

Mia and the Bad Boy (Backstage Pass #2)
Release Date: 05/19/15
Entangled Crush

Summary from Goodreads:
This good girl's about to meet her match…

Ryder Brooks is living the dream-he's famous, loved by millions of girls, and miserable. All he really wants is to write his own music, not Seconds to Juliet's sugary sweet pop. In order to do that, though, the "bad boy" of the band will have to play by the rules. And that includes behaving with his new-and super cute-über-good-girl tutor.

Mia Reyes is in fangirl heaven. Tutoring her favorite member of her favorite band? It's a dream come true…until it turns into a complete nightmare. Ryder is nothing like she thought. He's crude, arrogant, and pretty much a total jerk. And the worst part? She's roped into pretending to be his girlfriend so that no one finds out he's being tutored. Fake kisses, plenty of PDA, and even sharing his hotel room…

But sometimes even the baddest of bad boys needs a little redemption.

Excerpt:

"Great show," she said, needing to say something. She clasped her hands in her lap.

"The fans seemed to like it," Ryder said, standing just beyond the doorway. "You didn't have to wait up for me."

"I kind of did," Mia said, indicating the couch. If she set up the bed, that meant she was okay with this arrangement, and while her body definitely was, it was hard to get her mind to catch up.

Never mind catching up. Before Mia could even take another breath, Ryder was peeling off his shirt like Mia wasn't even there, or maybe he'd done that because she was.

"Sorry, I can't wait to get out of my clothes as soon as the show is over."

They both looked at his belt buckle.

Ryder laughed. "I'll change in the bathroom per your rule," he said.

She understood with more and more certainty that she was going to share a bed with Ryder Brooks.

Would he try to kiss her? Would he try more? Would she be able to deal with it if he did? What if he didn't? The questions swirled around Mia's brain like fireflies.

"We don't have to go to sleep right away," Ryder said, maybe sensing her fear.

"I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep at all," she admitted.

"You don't have to be scared," Ryder said, the muscles in his arms bulging as he pushed his hair back. She stared at the tribal tattoo wrapped around one bicep, black as the darkest reaches of outer space.

Mia's mouth started to water and she realized she wasn't only scared, she was hungry. She wanted to touch Ryder's tattoo, taste the water and sweat on his skin. Regrettably, the hunger scared her, too. Mia spit-laughed to cover it up. "You think I'm scared of you? No way."

"Then I guess I'll change my pants right here," Ryder replied, clearly calling her bluff. He moved his fingers to his belt buckle, and her heart seemed to fly up and beat from behind her eyes. He was taking her right to the edge.

Mia looked down. She needed to tell him the truth. "Considering what I admitted last night, it shouldn't surprise you that I've never shared a bed with a boy before. I know this is an every-night thing for you, but it's not for me."

Ryder's mouth widened into a grin that made Mia crave this being an every-night thing for her.

"Haven't you ever done something your mother wouldn't approve of?" he asked, stepping closer to her.

"Sure," she said, not understanding how talking about her mother was supposed to make her feel any calmer about sharing a bed with Ryder.

"So tell me, then." He stood over her, his stomach at eye level.

She was staring at Ryder Brooks's belly button, his chiseled abs. How had she not died yet?

Mia searched her brain. Was it really that her mom would freak out if she knew she was sharing a bed with Ryder, or if she knew Mia's feelings for him would probably only increase once she did?

"Maybe I should guess," Ryder said, the muscles of his stomach moving up and down as he spoke. "You rode a mechanical bull once, or tied a cherry stem with your tongue."

Mia knew he was being a smart-ass, but she could be a smart-ass, too.

She looked up at him, shirtless, beautiful, wet Ryder Brooks, and said something that no girl in her right mind would ever say. "And then what? Will you reciprocate by telling me about this one time at band camp?"

Ryder burst out laughing. "I got kicked out of band camp." He headed toward the bathroom. "Don't worry," he said, peeking out from behind the door before he closed it. "I'll put a shirt on."

A thought her mother definitely wouldn't approve of clouded her vision, but she couldn't bring herself to say the words out loud. I don't want you to.

She wrote her first story when she was in second grade. It was a Thanksgiving tale from the point of view of the turkey from freezer to oven to plate. It was scandalous.

Summary from Goodreads:
One clue… what does it mean?

Ken, the leader of the Blue Men of the Minch, has kidnapped Evan. Before they left, Evan was able to leave a package for Meara-her grandfather's necklace wrapped in a cloth napkin with one word written in blood. Azuria. Unfortunately, Meara doesn't understand it and neither does her dad or Kieran.

When Dad and Aunt Brigid attempt to rescue Evan, Meara and Kieran begin to train the clan on how to fight and defend their home. A war is brewing, and Meara is determined their people must prepare for the battle. The training sessions are long and arduous, but the Selkies work hard to learn.

Meanwhile, Evan wakes and finds himself in Belle Tresor, the home of sirens. He's bound to his blue form, unable to transform to human, and Ken has plans to use Evan's powers to destroy the Selkies. Thankfully, he's not alone. He befriends a siren named Deanna and several Blue Men. Can he trust them to help him escape or do they have ulterior motives?

As both sides prepare for an ultimate confrontation, the stakes are high and friendships are tested. Some will rise to be victorious. Some will be destroyed. But love and loyalty will be always remembered in this exciting conclusion to the Never Forgotten series.

Excerpt:

I stood alone on the shore. The ocean was calm, the sky clear. Where was Kieran and when did it stop raining? As I watched, the water iced over. Crystals danced outward forming a lacy, solid surface. The latticework spread as far as I could see. In the distance, a shadowy figure glided toward me.

The figure drew near, and I realized it was a woman. She wore a beaded strapless gown that sparkled as she floated on the ice. The fabric looked heavy, but the way it swirled at her ankles told me it was not. Her feet were bare, though she seemed unbothered by the ice. Like the ground beneath her feet, her skin was a pale aqua. Her long wavy hair appeared white in the bright sunlight, though by the time she stood before me, I could tell that it was really a very light blue. Her eyes, the brilliant turquoise of the Caribbean Sea, mesmerized me.

"My child." She reached out to embrace me. Her touch burned, and the kiss she placed on each cheek bit like frostbite. "The time has come for the truth to be revealed."

"Truth?" What was she talking about? What truth? It was difficult to think in her presence. Where was Kieran? Where was I for that matter? I started with the most pressing question, "Who are you?"

"If you look within, you'll find the answer." Her finger touched my collarbone. Through the icy spark that followed, I knew.

About the Author
Becoming a published author is a lifetime dream come true. As a child, I subjected friends and family to my "KellyMark" greeting cards ("When you care enough to make the very best."), poetry, homemade magazines, and short stories. In high school, my short story, "If Only to Escape" was published in the local paper, and I won a writing contest for my children's story, "Televisella." In college, my creative writing tapered off, but I still managed to write the occasional review for The Marquette University Tribune. Once I graduated, I mixed creative writing with business writing, and I've held positions in Advertising, Marketing, and Instructional Design/eLearning Development.

Today, I am busy writing the next book in Meara's story. When I'm not writing, I'm reading, hanging out with my husband and two kids, or playing with our Whoodle puppy
