Josie Hawk is half vampire/half human who is part owner of a bar with her friend Sage. Part of the night Josie bartends and the other part of the night she is out roaming the streets killing the bad vampires, demons and things that go bump in the night. Josie is a huntress; she hunts what is mean and evil and spends most of their time in the dark. She is trying to make her town/city a better and safer place to live for everyone.
Josie's ex is back in town and she can't figure out why. What does he want? She knows that his only objective is not her. Her ex Keller and Josie use to be an item but not anymore. While her body tells her one thing her mind tells her something entirely different. Keller is in town for a reason and she intends on finding out what that reason is.
Josie decides she will ask her friend and co-owner of her bar; Sage who is also a vampire and just happens to be Keller's sister why he is back in town. Josie knows that Sage will not lie to her so she waits for the right moment to ask her. Just as she suspected Sage answers her question and it was not what Josie was wanting to hear. The assembly has sent Keller and his band to start up a team that will and can work together to form an alliance between the light and dark lore. Josie has been trying for a long time to get the assembly to set this up, to help get some kind of balance going. All of the unnecessary killing needs to stop and now someone is trying to hone in on her idea and claim it as their own and Josie is not the kind of person to just sit back and watch it happen not without trying to do something about it. No way is she going to let someone else take the credit for something that was her idea in the first place not to mention all of the hard work she has put into it.
Josie will find out who stole her idea and put a stop to whatever they are trying to do. Whoever it is just may not know who they are dealing with. Josie is one tough lady and can pack a punch. Josie works alone and doesn't need any help from anyone. But ole' Keller just might make her see things a little different this time around.
I read Alabaster Nights it tells the story of how Josie and Keller met. In the beginning Josie worked and lived her life alone and she didn't need anyone else coming into her life and changing anything around. She definitely didn't need a man telling her want to do or taking care of her she can take care of herself. Josie and Keller's story continues in Crimson Beat. I love reading about vampires and I thought Alabaster Nights was one of the best vampire books that I have read but then up pops Crimson Beat and I am stuck between the two. Which one is the best hmmm I don't know. Please don't make me pick because I can't do it. No way no how. They are both very great reads. The only bad thing that I can say about either one is that they are not long enough. I need more Josie and Keller. I have hit the jack pot why you ask because the next book Indigo Dawn is coming up.

My Review- Indigo Dawn
Josie is a woman who can take care of herself and needs no man or anyone else to take care of her. But she has found out that ever since Keller her ex-boyfriend has returned that she is addicted to him and she can't get enough of him. But Josie doesn't like feeling like this. Well on one hand she doesn't but on the other hand she loves it even if she hasn't figured it out yet. Josie is not use to letting people in. There is no more man that makes her feel the way Keller does. There has never been a man in her life before that has made her feel the things that she is feeling for Keller. She knows now that she can't do without him but she doesn't want to depend on anyone for anything. But Josie is figuring out that there may be some things in life that she enjoys that makes her feel girlyfied especially if that thing is Keller.
Keller has known for a very long time that he was in love with Josie and knows that one day she will come around and accept that he will always want to take care of her and make sure that she is safe. Keller knows that Josie is his soulmate even if she won't admit it. Keller has been sent to Josie's town to help her rid her town of all the bad and evil things and people too. The assembly has sent Keller and his band to help Josie and her town. Keller's band members Alex Grant, Matthew and Lucian has developed very strong feelings for her as well and will all stand right beside her and fight for her until the death to protect her just like Keller himself.
Josie Hawk is a woman that I think a lot of women who can make a connection with her. The things that she has experience in her life; a lot of women out in the real world has been through it already their selves and can relate to her. Each woman may relate to her in different ways but they will probably know what and how she is feeling or at least understand if they can't actually feel it or know what she has been through. Even I have felt as if I relate to her in ways. Elle makes Josie's character come to life so that others can relate to her in more ways than one.
