She killed her husband. At least, that's what they tell her.

Sadie Lennox wakes up covered in blood beside her husband's corpse, with no memory of what happened. Claiming amnesia, she's committed to Halcyon Institute—a prestigious psychiatric facility where she'll be "helped" to remember.

But Dr. Sebastian Harmon isn't interested in her recovery. He's interested in control.

As Sadie realizes she's trapped in a nightmare disguised as treatment, her estranged sister Julia receives the news. Three thousand miles away, Julia knows the truth Sadie won't admit: their reunion was inevitable. Because some patterns repeat, some men are the same, and Julia has spent her life trying to protect her little sister from monsters.

Now she'll have to become one to save her.

But in a system designed to silence the vulnerable, who will believe two damaged women against a doctor everyone trusts?

A gripping psychological thriller about the bonds of sisterhood, the abuse of institutional power, and two women who refuse to be broken.

My Review:

Sadie Lennox wakes up beside her husband, covered in his blood, with no recollection of what transpired. All evidence points to Sadie as the culprit, leaving her sister Julia, who lives miles away, stunned by the news of Sadie's alleged crime. However, Julia refuses to believe that her sister could have harmed her husband, determined to uncover the truth.

Committed captivated me from the very first page, immersing me in Sadie's world the moment she regained consciousness next to her husband. The gripping mystery kept me eagerly turning the pages, eager to unravel Sadie's story.

The narrative was filled with numerous twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what truly happened on that fateful night and throughout Sadie's marriage and life. As the secrets were gradually unveiled, I found myself astonished by the unexpected developments, my jaw dropping in disbelief at the revelations. The more I read, the more intriguing Sadie's story became, leaving me unable to put the book down.

Committed, a gripping psychological thriller, captivates readers with its chilling narrative and the unnerving events that unfold around the protagonist, Sadie. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat, as you wonder about the potential dangers and the possibility of Sadie being trapped for an extended period, or even forever.

I highly recommend this thrilling read to anyone who enjoys a good psychological suspense novel. The captivating storyline and the unpredictable twists and turns will leave you thoroughly entertained and eager to uncover the mysteries within.

Book Blitz: Overcome Addiction Through Meditation, Fasting and Stress Management by Majid Ali @RABTBookTours

Self-Help

Date Published: December 17, 2025

Overcome Addiction Through Meditation, Fasting and Stress Management offers a clear, grounded and deeply practical path for anyone determined to break free from a harmful addictive cycle. Instead of relying on willpower alone, this book guides you toward strengthening the mind, restoring balance to the brain, and reducing cravings at their source.

Addiction is not a fixed state - it is a challenge that can be overcome with the right tools. Here, you will learn how three simple, accessible practices, meditation, fasting and stress management, work together to rebalance the five key neurotransmitters disrupted by addiction: dopamine, serotonin, GABA, glutamate and norepinephrine. By restoring this balance, the brain becomes calmer, clearer and far more capable of resisting impulsive urges and compulsive cravings.

Through straightforward explanations and real-world examples, the book shows:

• Why meditation elevates dopamine, serotonin and GABA to reduce cravings and strengthen self-control

• How fasting lowers glutamate, quiets compulsive drives, and supports mental clarity

• Why unmanaged stress triggers relapse - and how simple daily habits can keep norepinephrine in check

• How changing your environment, your routines and even your mindset dramatically increases your chance of success

Find practical guidance on building consistency, overcoming setbacks, developing patience, and staying grounded during the recovery process. These tools are not harsh, complicated or costly - each one is easy to apply and becomes more powerful with repetition.

Whether you are struggling yourself or supporting someone on their journey, this book gives you an approach that is gentle, logical and evidence-based. By focusing on the process rather than the fear of relapse, you will develop the strength, clarity and balance needed to reclaim your life…

One peaceful, steady step at a time.

Read an Excerpt

From the beginning, Jesus has consistently defied human expectations. He clashed with religious authorities, challenged societal norms, and even surprised his own disciples. Faith, as Kierkegaard emphasized, is a tension-filled encounter with the unpredictable claim of God. Jesus does not allow us to tame Him with neat definitions; He is the living Word who confronts our assumptions and stretches our understanding of God and the world.

In a modern age defined by scientific revolutions, technological advancements, and rationalist philosophies, many of us search for certainty, meaning, and moral guidance. Yet, the Gospel remains disruptive. Jesus is not an abstract ideal; He is historical, embodied, and relational. He experienced hunger, fatigue, betrayal, and hope. He engaged life fully, showing that realism and spiritual depth are not mutually exclusive. Even in a world governed by measurement, reason, and empiricism, Jesus challenges us to consider ethics, purpose, and human flourishing in ways that transcend material explanation.

This book examines Jesus within contemporary frameworks of thought—from Rationalism and Empiricism to Pragmatism and Scientism—showing that His life and teachings remain radically relevant. The Kingdom of God is not abstract; it demands reflection, engagement, and action. Jesus remains aspirational and transformative, inviting each reader to wrestle with faith, reason, and the meaning of life in a modern context.
