Read a smokin’ hot excerpt from Fighting Attraction!

“You’re so fucking soft,” he breathes. “So sweet.” He presses a kiss to my neck as his hands move over my body. I wrap my arms around his neck, pull him down for more. I want his full weight on top of me. I want to feel crushed, smothered, enveloped in hot, musky male.

Jack groans. His hips press into my stomach, his erection a delicious friction between my thighs. I part my legs wider, grind against him, seeking the delicious sensation of rough denim on my throbbing clit.

“Shh. Slow down. I want to enjoy you.” He trails kisses down my neck, over my throat. Shifting to the side, he cups and squeezes my breasts through my bra, his touch solid and strong. I writhe and wriggle, unable to stay still. He is driving me crazy with his touches, making me so wet it’s all I can do not to rip off his clothes and make him give me what I want.

His eyes darken, and he shoves my shirt up over my head, baring me to his heated gaze. “Ah, Pen.”

My hands find his back and smooth over his muscles, feeling them ripple beneath his shirt as he slides one bra strap over my shoulder. His breathing is heavy, his gaze intense as his head dips down to press a soft kiss to my bare skin.

He slides the other strap off, slowly, gently, carefully unwrapping me as if he is teasing himself. I arch my back, offer my breasts for the pleasure of his mouth. Beyond rational thought, I am lost in sensation, a seething, yearning mass of want.

Jack traces his finger along the edge of my bra, leaving a burning trail across my skin. With painful slowness, he eases the cups down, releasing my breasts from their restraint. I gasp when my burning skin comes into contact with the cool air, and my nipples bead so hard they ache.

I want his mouth on me, his lips, and his heat. But he doesn’t oblige. Instead, he traces a finger around my nipple. Around and around until I tangle my hands in his soft hair and pull him down to my breast. “Please.”

“You’re making it very difficult to go slow.” He feathers hot kisses across the curve of one breast, moving down to draw my left nipple between his teeth. I moan as he licks and sucks, nips and bites, while his other hand squeezes and caresses my right breast. My thighs fall open, inviting, and he lowers his hand to my leg and traces his finger slowly along the sensitive skin of my inner thigh.

I have never known lust like this, want so fierce I burn, need so intense I ache. He is a master of manipulation, a purveyor of pleasure. He knows just where to touch and how hard. He knows how to drive me up and take me down, when I can’t take any more and when it isn’t enough. I try not to think about where he gained all that knowledge, the countless women he’s been with, the things he has done to them in his room at the club. I pretend I am the only one he has caressed into a haze of lust, the only one he wants.

I open my eyes to see him watching me, assessing my reaction to his touch. I feel at once stripped bare and treasured by the intensity of his focus. He moves to my other breast, pulling down my bra cup, teasing and torturing my nipple with his mouth. He trails his fingers up my thigh and then cups the curve of my sex, over my wet knickers. I let out a guttural moan and in seconds he’s on top of me, as if I’ve broken his self-control. He kisses me hard, rough, grinds his hips against me as he presses me into the couch. I reach for him, and he grabs my wrists with one hand and pins them over my head. He pushes my knickers aside and strokes a thick finger along my labia while he sucks and bites my nipple until I am writhing and groaning beneath him.

“Please,” I moan. “Please. Please. Please.”

“Tell me what you want.” He buries his face in my neck, bites down on the sensitive skin at the top of my shoulder.

“Sex. I want to have sex. I want you inside me. Now. Take off my clothes.”

His hand tightens on my wrists so hard it hurts. “I don’t have normal sex,” he growls. “If I take off your clothes, I’m going to hurt you. I need your pain, darlin’. Can you give it to me?”

Book Blitz + #Giveaway: Claimed By Power by Zoey Ellis @authorzoeyellis @XpressoTours

Claimed By Power
Zoey Ellis
Publication date: April 3rd 2017
Genres: New Adult, Paranormal, Romance

Not all angels are angelic…

Thea Robinson has never needed anyone’s charity. Sure, her impoverished existence isn’t desired by most, but her ability to manipulate people’s emotions helps her to blend into the shadows of an unforgiving city. When hideous creatures threaten her life, a surly but gorgeous stranger shows up revealing a world she didn’t know existed. She refuses to put up with his rude, arrogant attitude, but how do you dismiss a warrior angel? And does she really want to when his stormy gaze sends delicious thrills straight to her core?

Cam is one of the most ruthless Power angels in the fight against evil. His devotion to kill demons has made him a celebrated warrior in the Angel Realm, even though his motivation stems from grief. When he is assigned to train and protect a half-angel just coming into her abilities, his rage is unparalleled. Until he realizes Thea isn’t like any others. She stirs a carnal passion in him that he can’t shake. He never counted on her being so beautiful… so fierce… so most definitely his.

Claimed by Power is the first book in the Empire of Angels series, a paranormal alpha angel romance series. If you’re a fan of alpha heroes, powerful heroines, paranormal worlds and falling in love, Zoey Ellis’ riveting, sexy tale is perfect for you.

About the end: Although this book can be read as a standalone, Cam and Thea’s story does continue over the next two books.

Sexual scenes and strong language included. Not suitable for readers under 18

Q&A with author Zoey Ellis:

What motivated you to become an indie author?

I’ve always written stories, mainly to entertain myself, and would usually include friends and family in my tales. Sometimes life was so crazy, I’d just recount things that happened! Other times I made up new scenarios and worlds. Eventually, I entered competitions, took courses, wrote online group stories and shared my work frequently online. I received lots of feedback and therefore improved over time.

I felt discouraged to pursue writing as a career because of the lottery jackpot nature of the traditional publishing industry. When I realized writers could be successful at indie publishing, I thought ‘ah, maybe I could give this a try’ and hoped I could write something others would want to read. And even though I’m a baby indie, all the bloggers, writers and readers who I’ve been in communication with about my book have been so lovely and helpful. It’s really encouraging.

Why do you write Paranormal Romance?

I think deep, passionate, sexual romance is a beautiful part of human nature that is sometimes trivialised and boxed in when actually it can be such a powerful part of a real connection between people, even if other personality flaws get in the way. I also have a deep love for all things fantastical and so it only made sense to blend the two. The challenge of both together make it an enticing sub-genre to tackle.

Could you tell us a bit about your most recent book and why it is a must-read?

Claimed By Power is about a warrior angel with a troublesome nature finding his natural mate in a fiery and distrustful half-angel, who grew up not knowing what she was. They have different ways of approaching their relationship and this causes problems and misunderstandings for them both, but they are drawn to each other and come to understand each other.

I think it’s a must-read because of the idea that angels can mate and shift, just like werewolves! The warrior angel is an alpha but is deeply attracted his mate’s independence and fiery nature. He respects who she is and does everything he can to preserve and protect that throughout their story.

How did you come up with the idea for Claimed By Power?

I didn’t see a story about angels that was in the same vein as the one I wanted to read, so I decided to write it. I pulled on all the things I love about shifter stories and blended them with angels, demons, heaven and hell, passionate love and a developed paranormal world.

How do you select the names of your characters?

Camael is documented as the name of an angel, though different sources claim different facts about him. I liked the one that said he was the ‘chief angel of Powers’, and I knew that had to be the Hero’s name. With the rest of them, I figured out the shortened name I wanted to use and t
hen came up a longer version with the aid of research.

What did you edit out of this book?

My beta readers didn’t connect that much with the character Amber, so I tried to adapt it to make her more likable. I’m not sure I succeeded but she appears throughout Cam and Thea’s story, so hopefully she’ll grow on anyone that isn’t convinced.

What is your favorite part of the book?

It’s a section I added on the advice of one of my brilliant beta readers, and it’s Chapter Ten where Thea is being trained by Cam. He is cold and stern with her while she’s trying to figure him out. I think the goofy and tempestuous side of her character comes across well and it’s clear from other chapters how Cam really feels. I looooved writing it.

What’s next for this series?

There are two more books planned that cover Cam and Thea’s story, which is a bit unusual with the sub-genre I’m targeting, but I couldn’t fit it all into one book (and I probably wouldn’t have finished it if I tried). After that there are two more couples in the same world whose stories need to be told. I won’t say who – it’d spoil the surprise!

Tell us a little about your plans for the future. Where do you see yourself as a writer in five years?

Cam and Thea’s story will all be released this year. In five years, I hope to have released a number of interesting series that are uniquely ‘me’ but also familiar enough to readers of adult Paranormal Romance for them to enjoy. I have an idea for a dragon shifter series next but at the moment, I just want to see how this one does!

For Readers 18+, Can easily be read as a standalone!

Haze switched his thoughts to Adriana. Every fiber of his being was in love with her and he was tired of hiding it. He and Carys had talked about it on their way to New York, and she made a valid point of saying that he and Adriana were both consenting adults and her parents couldn’t stop them from seeing each other. She encouraged him to go to Adriana’s parents, and if Adriana truly loved him, she would forgive him. Haze was hell-bent on professing his love for Adriana to her parents. He’d planned his speech and was ready. He was ready to apologize for sneaking around behind their backs and was willing to take whatever consequences they dished out. He was willing to do whatever it took to finally be with Adriana in the open.

He walked briskly through LAX. His mission, while he still had the courage, was to head to Banovic Manor. He texted his roommate, Chellon, to pick him up at the airport. Haze could hardly wait to get to the outside a few yards in front of him. With his eyes set firmly on his finish line, he dodged people coming at him from all directions; then just outside of Starbucks, L’Wren DaCosta bumped into him, spilling some of her ice-cold drink down his pant leg. As the liquid penetrated his pants and touched his skin, it slammed him into the present.

“I am so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention,” she apologized.

“It’s okay, neither was I.” He dusted the liquid from his pants.

“I’m so sorry, let me …” She tried to wipe it off.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s okay. Lemme buy you another one.” Haze looked at her for the first time and she looked familiar, but he couldn’t place her.

“No, no, no, it’s fine. I am so clumsy!”

“You’re Kevin’s girlfriend.”

“I knew you looked familiar. Have we met?” L’Wren asked.

“Haze. I work for the Banovics, part time, but I’ve seen you at Bacchanal Jake’s.”

“That’s right!”

Haze nodded.

“L’Wren. Nice to meet you,” she introduced herself.

“Yeah, you too. You coming or going?”

“Just coming back from New York City. I presented one of my designs at Fashion Week.”

“No way! I was just coming back from there. I had a gig at that event.”

“Do you want a ride? My roommate should be here any minute now.”

“Kevin’s picking me up.” She beamed; it was obvious to Haze that she was very much in love with Kevin by the way she lit up when she mentioned his name.

L’Wren and Haze walked and talked about the shows. Once outside, the conversation flowed easily. They were so engrossed in conversation that they didn’t notice a black SUV pull up a few feet away.
Two men got out and walked towards them.

“L’Wren?” one of the men asked.

“Yes.”

“Kevin sent us to pick you up.”

One of the men relieved her of her bags. Haze had an uneasy feeling as he watched the man who spoke lead her away by her elbow.

“Bye, Haze.” She smiled. “Nice to meet you.”

Haze faked a smile, but his gut told him that something was not right. He saw them open the backseat door for her and he started walking towards them. One of the men noticed and quickly got in with L’Wren and they hastily drove off. He memorized the license plate as he dialed Kevin. At the same time Chellon pulled up and Haze spotted Kevin’s vehicle in traffic several cars behind.

Haze dropped his bag and ran towards Kevin’s vehicle.

“Hey, man!” Chellon called as he got out of his vehicle.

Kevin spotted Haze and lowered the window on the passenger side. “What’s going on, Haze?”

“Two guys just grabbed your girl, I think.”

“You shitting me, right?” Kevin looked at him in disbelief.

Chellon caught up to them.

“Kevin, I’m dead serious.” Haze told them everything that happened and gave him the license plate of the vehicle, and Kevin sped off, honking his way through traffic.

“We should call the cops. I’ve got the license plate, they could help.” Haze looked for both vehicles, but they had already disappeared.

“No, man, Kevin’s got this,” Chellon replied. Just then an airport security guard started to hassle them about leaving their vehicle unattended.

Book Blitz + #Giveaway: Because the Night by Kristen Strassel @KristenStrassel @XpressoTours

Because the Night
Kristen Strassel
(Night Songs Collection #1)
Publication date: April 1st 2017
Genres: New Adult, Urban Fantasy

Sex, blood, and rock n’ roll.

Immortal Dilemma is the hottest show on the Las Vegas Strip, and Tristan Trevosier is their biggest star. But to me, he’s the guy who broke my heart and then showed up on stage claiming to be a vampire.

Now I fear it might be true.

The true darkness of Tristan’s world terrifies me, but when I end up chasing after a vampire, dating his enemy, and hunted by his creator, I realize the only person who will get me into trouble—is me.

EXCERPT:

The tables at Embrace were full by eleven. Donors swirled around the tables, stopping to let a vampire drink, then going back to the rotation with dripping blood from the wound, until the next vampire beckoned them. Many of them had multiple wounds on major arteries. And those blank expressions. It was impossible to tell if they enjoyed it, hated it, or didn’t feel anything anymore, which terrified me the most.

Most of the patrons wanted Venom or wine, and mostly by the bottle. Easy. Two waitresses joined us as the night progressed. High tickets, generous tips, and very little to complain about.

The noise level in the room rocketed after midnight. A rowdy group of guys bellied up to the bar, ordering shots of Patron with Venom chasers. I gasped when I realized it was Immortal Dilemma. I didn’t recognize the rest of the guys without their makeup or expect to see them here. It was a vampire bar, but it was my little corner of the world.

Tristan was at the end, and I caught him smirking out of the corner of my eye.
I passed the bottle of tequila over the four shot glasses and then did the same with Venom. I pushed the glasses in front of the guys, stopping in front of Tristan. They toasted and downed the tequila. Except Tristan, who put his down on the bar. He rose on his stool and pulled me onto the bar.

“What are you doing?” I asked through clenched teeth as he climbed on the bar next to me. He smiled but said nothing as he pushed me down on my back in front of the rest of the band, who hooted and hollered in approval.

“Shouting our relationship for the rooftops. Well, bar top,” he said before he poured his shot in a line from just below my bellybutton to my collarbone and licked it off me.

He was wasted already. Great. I should’ve known better than to think because we’d slept together he’d stop being…this guy. The one who made me crazy. He held my shoulders down on the bar and hooked his feet over my legs. I closed my eyes, and tried not to moan as his tongue moved along the inside of my bra top.

He pulled me up and moved in for a kiss. Before he connected I slapped him across the face. The rest of the band whooped in approval or amusement, I wasn’t sure which one. After the initial shock wore off, Tristan chuckled, which made me want to slap him again.

“What’s wrong, beautiful?” he asked with a lazy smile, his cheek still red from my slap.

“You’ll get me fired.” I pushed him, but he didn’t budge. I looked over his shoulder to see if Lennon or anyone else was paying attention to us, but it was business as usual.

He cupped my face in his hands, so gentle in contrast to what he had just done. “You’re in my world now. The rules are different here.”
“Listen to you, trying to tell me about rules.” Like he’d ever foll
owed one in his life.

“You better start getting used to them.” He had the nerve to laugh again. I gazed out at the tables with a huff as he nuzzled my chest, and my mouth dropped when I saw the crowd parting for Talis. Her entourage trailed behind her— with Blade in tow—bound by his wrists and legs, his bruised face vacant and dark.

I pulled Tristan off me by his hair.

“You like it rough, don’t you?” Desire swirled in his eyes. “We could go into one of the back rooms, or we can continue right here. It’s fun with an audience.”

“Shut up.” I turned his head towards Talis. “She’s got Blade.” I pushed him away, and this time he moved. “Did you know about this?”

“No, but she knows what I do. And you’re her employee. There are no secrets at Embrace.” He watched Blade get dragged into one of the VIP rooms—that minutes before he suggested we use for a quickie—without a hint of sympathy.

I jumped off the bar. This time I wouldn’t slap Tristan, I’d strangle him, and get even madder when he thought it was hilarious. I grabbed Lennon’s arm as she poured a drink.

She nearly dropped the bottle. “What’s going on?” she asked.

“Talis just marched Blade into the backroom. He’s hurt. He’s bound. Did you see him?” My heart thundered in my chest.

“I don’t think anyone saw anything but you and Tristan.” She winked at me.

“I’ll be back.”

It all started one Fourth of July after a hair band show and a few drinks. I had a dream about a girl trying to make her way in Las Vegas that was so vivid I actually moved there to try to write a book about it. It took me almost ten years and a move back to Boston to get it done, but that dream became Because The Night. My love of dark paranormal books and the biographies of 60’s and 70’s rock stars inspired my writing style. I write a lot, but when I’m not doing that I can probably be found on a movie set doing makeup. I also love making my house look like a Pinterest board, cooking, watching football, and traveling. I live with my cockatiel, McGee, and I'm always in search of the next happily ever after.

A military police officer on the verge of a new beginning. A beautiful woman devoted to her career and her dream of putting down roots. The hardest thing they’ll ever do is to take a chance on love . . .
Navy Chief Master at Arms Jackson “Jax” Faraday is at a crossroads. He has to decide whether to reenlist or get out while he’s young enough to make a difference in the civilian world. Gail Chianese's love of reading began at the tender age of three, when she'd make her grandpa read Fourteen Country Rabbits over and over and over again (and correct him when he skipped parts). While she's branched out over the years by reading mystery, women’s fiction, and urban fantasy, she always circles back to romance in the end. That's probably because she's married to her real life hero. Her wonderful hubby has served in the US Navy for the past twenty two years and he’s done things he can’t tell her about. But it doesn’t stop her from being extremely proud of him and the sacrifices he makes for her, his family, and his country. He’s also uber-supportive of her dreams and of their three children. Blurb Blitz + #Giveaway: Lyrical Press Contemporary Romances @nicolethelm @GoddessFish

So Wrong it Must be Right
by Nicole Helm
GENRE: Contemporary Romance

BLURB:

So Wrong It Must Be Right

It’s all fun and games until fantasy gets real . . .

At twenty-seven, Dinah Gallagher thought she’d have it all figured out. Instead, she’s having mind-blowing online sex with a man she knows nothing about and fighting for her rightful place in the family business. Part of that battle means expanding their century-old restaurant by getting the stubborn urban farmer next door to sell them his lot.

But Carter Trask is tired of being pushed around—especially by rich families like the Gallaghers. All he has left is the little farm he’s scratched out of his grandmother’s yard. At least he can blow off steam with the anonymous woman he’s been emailing for the past eight months, who makes his every sexual fantasy come alive—even if it’s only online.

When Dinah suddenly realizes that Carter’s gardens look just like some of her mystery man’s photos, she can’t resist trying to turn her dreams into reality. Against his better judgment, Carter joins in the game. But in real life, passion has a way of becoming very complicated, very quickly. And sometimes the wrong choice can turn out to be oh so right . . .

Excerpt:

“You’re not still emailing with that guy!”

Dinah looked up from her phone and blinked at her cousin. It took a minute to get her bearings and remember that Kayla was waiting on her to get started.

“Actually I was reading up on Trask. I found an article that might explain his reluctance to sell.”

Kayla snatched Dinah’s phone away, then frowned at the screen. “It is sick that you get the same look on your face reading those pervy emails as you do reading stuff for work.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Dinah replied primly. Okay, maybe she did know what Kayla meant, and maybe it was a little sick, but Gallagher’s Tap Room was Dinah’s blood. The Gallagher family had moved to St. Louis over a century ago, and built a little pub on the very land beneath the concrete floor under her feet.

It was everything to her, and yeah, she got a little excited about that. Kayla gestured toward the back door and Dinah stood to follow. Meeting with Trask was going to be the moment she finally proved to Uncle Craig and the board she was ready to take over as director of operations.

Being Uncle Craig’s “special assistant” had turned out to mean little more than being his bitch, and while she’d worked to be the best damn bitch she could be, she was ready for tradition to take over. From the very beginning, the eldest Gallagher in every generation took over. These days, the title was director of operations, but it was all the same. And she was the eldest Gallagher of the eldest Gallagher.

She’d been told her whole life Gallagher’s would be hers when her father retired, or, as it turned out to be with Dad, abandoned everyone and everything in the pursuit of his midlife crisis.

It was time. Dinah was ready, and getting some crazy urban farmer to sell his land next to Gallagher’s for the expansion was going to be the final point in her favor. No one would be able to deny she was ready.

Director of operations was everything she’d been dreaming about since she was old enough to understand what the job required. Long after she’d understood what Gallagher’s meant to her family, and to her.

“So, you finally stopped emailing creepy Internet dude?”

Dinah walked with Kayla down the hallway to the back exit. “He’s not creepy.” The guy she’d randomly started emailing with, after she’d tipsily commented on his Tumblr page one night, wasn’t creepy. He was kind of amazing.

“Dinah.”

“I’m sorry. No way I’m giving that guy up. It’s some of the hottest sex I’ve ever had.”

Dinah thought wistfully about how he’d ended his last email. And when you’re at the point you don’t think you can come again, I’ll make sure that you do. It might be only through a computer, but it was far superior to anything any other guy had ever said to her.

“It’s fictional.”

“So?”

“He’s probably like a sixty-year-old perv. Or a woman, if he’s really as good as you say he is.”

“As you pointed out, it’s fictional. Who cares?”

When she's not writing, she spends her time dreaming about someday owning a barn. She lives with her husband and two young sons in Missouri. She is slightly (okay, totally) addicted to Twitter (@nicolethelm), the St. Louis Cardinals, and someday owning a barn.
