An aquamarine pendant. An old photograph. Dolphins behaving strangely. A filmmaker murdered during Pirate Festival weekend.  My island paradise is officially having a bad week.

I’m Skye Marina, sharing a cottage on Seahorse Island with my bestie, Tessa. I’d rather collect shells, dance late into the night, or work beside a charming charter captain than get tangled up in another murder.

That changes when Cara Bennett trusts me with clues about her grandmother’s mysterious death during a 1996 expedition off Lovers Key. Then Cara is murdered, and walking away is no longer an option.

With my loyal poodle, Luna, retired forensic expert Candy Li, and my island friends, I chase clues through mangrove channels, marinas, beaches, and secrets hidden in the deep blue.

Ray Callahan’s reputation depends on the story Cara challenged, while investor Warren Pike resents her for reopening the expedition that ruined him.

Soon Cara’s murder, the long-ago expedition, and the troubled dolphins appear connected.

Now I must expose the killer before someone else is silenced and the island paradise I call home is damaged beyond repair.

My Review:

While looking through her grandfather’s old records, Cara Bennett finds something highly suspicious about her grandmother’s mysterious death during a 1996 expedition off Lovers Key. Desperate for answers, Cara contacts Skye Marina to help her uncover what really happened all those years ago. Believing someone is watching her, a paranoid Cara leaves the old documents in Skye’s hands for safe keeping.
Tragedy strikes the very next day when Cara is found dead. Someone clearly wants to keep the past buried, and Cara was getting too close to the truth. Armed with the records and joined by her loyal poodle, Luna, retired forensic expert Candy Li and her island friends, Skye sets out to solve Cara's murder. The author does a fantastic job of bringing the sun-drenched, atmospheric Florida coast to life, making the island community feel like a character in its own right.
Can Skye and her crew uncover the dark secrets of the past before someone else is silenced? The relentless pacing and clever twists kept me completely hooked, making this a true page-turner. I raced through the final chapters to see how all the puzzle pieces tied together!

I highly recommend Whispers of Lovers Key to all cozy mystery fans. Grab your copy today!

A forgotten recording. A seaside murder. And one poodle who is officially too good at finding bodies.

Skye Marina comes to Seahorse Island for a fresh start with Luna, a black standard poodle with better instincts than most people.

Between music nights at the Magic Pearl, her beachside cottage, and her work on the water alongside charming boat captain Logan, life is finally starting to feel normal.

Then a fundraiser uncovers a forgotten record tied to hometown rock legend Joe Calder's hit song, Echo of Seaglass Cove.

For one brief moment, it feels like they've struck gold.

Instead, Skye and Luna find the record collector dead.

Now Skye is investigating alongside her wildly nosy island friends and Candy Li, a retired forensic specialist whose favorite hobby is ruining perfectly good theories with facts.

The trail leads to Kincaid, Joe Calder's powerful estate manager, who has plenty to lose if the truth comes out, and JoJo, whose childhood memories uncover secrets her parents took to their graves.

When someone breaks into Skye's cottage and destroys evidence tied to Seaglass Cove, she realizes somebody is terrified of what she's uncovering.

And willing to do anything to stop her from exposing the truth.

My Review:

A forgotten record linked to hometown rock legend Joe Calder's hit song, Echo of Seaglass Cove, is discovered hidden behind jars on a shelf. When Skye gazes at the record, it seems to communicate something to her. She isn't the only one captivated by it; others also stare at the record, sensing that something is off.

Later that day, Skye and Luna discover that the record collector has died. Everyone thought he had left the fundraiser, but unfortunately for him, that was not true. The mystery surrounding the record and the death of the record collector leaves the residents of Seahorse Island in a state of unrest over the unfolding events.

The mystery and suspense captivated me, keeping me engaged with every word as I anticipated the story's conclusion. I found myself rapidly turning the pages, eager to help unravel the enigma of the hidden record and the collector's demise. I was curious about what had happened to him and who could commit such a drastic act, and for what reason.

As the narrative intensifies, the situation escalates, making Skye’s investigation increasingly perilous. I was on the edge of my seat, anxious for the outcome, hoping that Skye would uncover the identity of the killer before it was too late.

I highly recommend getting a copy of Echoes of Seaglass Cove today!
