Book Tour: Twenty of Two The Infamous They by Roland Hughes @RABTBookTours

Thriller/Espionage

Date Published: 07-04-2025

Publisher: Logikal Solutions

In life, the journey is the reward. Old Timer certainly has had a journey through this life. For nearly forty years he has been both a geek and an assassin. Despite someone at his company having given him the contract decades ago, nobody there actually knew what he did, just that the client paid. Had he told anyone about it, especially his coworkers, they would have laughed in his face.

Since late January, 1992, he has kept a secret . . . and souvenirs. Secrets were common currency in his world, but souvenirs were against company policy and strictly forbidden.

Presented as a novel. Any names, dates, events or places that happen to exist in the world you know are strictly coincidental. Take the journey that is about to start. Find out how Ukraine saved the world from nuclear war in 1992 and what they did is still saving it today because nobody ever found out.

Some readers will never think about food the same way again.

Slava Ukraini! Heroiam slava!

bon appétit

Interview with Roland Hughes

What is your favorite part of the book?

Honestly, the entire thing. After I finished this book I started cleaning up old backup files. They went back to 2008. This book had a lot of starts and stops. Old Timer wasn’t even in the early stuff. In the end, his character screamed the loudest and had the most interesting things to say.

Does your book have a lesson? Moral?

Yes, What goes up doesn’t always come down. Assumptions are what get people killed. Assume nothing.

The vast majority of the human race assumes hired killers are monsters. There is something mentally wrong with them. They cannot have compassion, ethics, or dignity.

We send Marines to kill people to. You don’t think that about them. Assumptions are what get people killed.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

Every one of the characters was based on at least one, sometimes more than one, person I’ve met over the course of my life. Do I happen to know a bunch of hired killers? No. That isn’t what gives characters depth.

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?

That changes with every novel. Old Timer was my favorite through most of this book. Pretty Little Thing found her way to my heart and, currently, has a big role in the sequel.

What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

Having spent nearly four decades as a traveling IT consultant I have to say I could get along with all of them in a “work setting,” however we define that these days. HR would be the most difficult though. She absolutely hates my gender.

What would the main character in your book have to say about you?

What took you so long? I was talking to you for years.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

I generally start out stand alone. Even in my trilogies each title is more or less stand alone. The sequel (whenever I get it done) to this novel will be the first time in my career where I handed anything off to the next volume. Will it become a trilogy or series? That’s up to the characters. I just write what they tell me.

Book Tour + #Giveaway: The 6th Heaven by Monica Broussard @AuthorBroussard @RABTBookTours

Book 3 in the 21 Tattoos Series

Speculative Fiction; Visionary and Metaphysical; Christian Fiction

Date Published: September 17, 2025

Publisher: Acorn Publishing

How far will a man go to save his very soul?

Derek Hollinger has walked a long, hard road since a fateful encounter with an Indigenous shaman woman turned his life upside down. Now married to Kendal, his angel and savior, Derek desperately wants to be the man she deserves. But his obsession with his tattoos—what they mean and how to get rid of them—is tearing down everything they’ve built together.

Paralyzed by depression and self-loathing, Derek is convinced that only one person can help him now: the granddaughter of the shaman whose power inked him from head to toe. Enlisting the aid of his loyal friend and spiritual advisor, Father Mike, Derek treks deep into the heart of the Amazon jungle, where a final reckoning between good and evil awaits.

But God’s plan for Derek isn’t what he expects. And coming back alive—whole in mind, heart, and spirit—will require every ounce of his fortitude and faith.

Interview with Monica Broussard

What is your favorite part of the book?

The metaphors. Each metaphor in the jungle scenes represents a conflict or revelation in Derek’s mind. For example, when Derek is going down the river, his fear turns into euphoria; however, upon entering the dark jungle, it symbolizes the chaotic darkness of his self-discovery journey through his mind.

Does your book have a lesson? Moral?

Everything in The 6th Heaven points to Derek moving forward in his self-discovery journey—every minute detail becomes clearer when he must survive in the jungle, in the sweltering heat and humidity. His trek through the Amazon, with its unforgiving wilderness, represents his journey of desperation and hope, reflecting the battles he faces and ultimately forces him to fight through the darkness of despair. The biting insects, the endless canopy, and the feeling of being a tiny speck beneath it all were the physical and emotional challenges he encountered there. He had to navigate both the literal and the metaphorical jungles, and the Amazon taught him the skills needed to survive. Each passing day reminded him of his struggles, a mirror that reflected more about who he was and who he could become. His life became a reflection of the battles he faced in the jungle and a testament to his resilience and refusal to succumb.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

They are a combination of me and made-up characters that resonate within my imagination.  I realized this after I published the first book 21 Tattoos, when I was first interviewed. It helped me to understand that a lot of it had to do with my personal discoveries, struggles, and journey through traumatic events in my life.

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?

By far Kendal. She represents the younger me. I get to delve deeply into her lifelong fears, values, and motivations.

What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

For sure, it would be Tyler. He is easily influenced. He needs a healthy mentor.  His convictions are strong, but he is still too immature to have a clear path.

What would the main character in your book have to say about you?

It would definitely take time before Derek and I could get along. I wouldn’t be as patient with him as Kendal. He would say I am too domineering. He is a strong man who has a hard time relating to strong women, until he meets Kendal.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

Both. Each book can stand on its own, yet they are definitely connected. If someone picks up any one of the books in the series, it will make them want to read more about the characters and their journeys, and they will likely pick up the others.

You’ve poured yourself into motherhood. Now it’s time to pour a little back into you.

If you’ve ever felt like parts of you went quiet in the background — your voice, your creativity, your dreams — Mom Take Center Stage is your invitation to rise.

This empowering guide invites you to stop shrinking and start shining.

With raw honesty and hard-won wisdom, Satya V. Nauth helps you reclaim your power, purpose, and presence — unapologetically.

You’ll learn how to:

Break cycles of self-abandonment and burnout

Release perfectionism and reconnect with your wholeness

Embrace your identity beyond the roles you carry

Live boldly, confidently, and without apology

Step into the spotlight of your own life — fully alive

This isn’t a book about balance.

It’s a book about becoming whole again.

Because the world doesn’t need a perfect mom.

It needs you — rooted, radiant, and real.

Interview with Satya V. Nauth

How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?

I began writing in larger pockets of time, with a clear schedule and deliberate intent. I discovered that while the writing flowed, the editing process was truly transformative. Each round of edits revealed there was always more in me, and the creativity just kept unfolding.

What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?

When I was a child, I placed second in an essay-writing competition. That moment gave me the confidence to keep writing — I started keeping a diary and filled it at every opportunity. It was during a difficult time in my life, and writing became a form of therapy. It was cleansing, a release, and a way to process emotions I couldn’t always express out loud.

What one thing would you give up to become a better writer?

I would sacrifice sleep, even though it’s precious to me. If it meant growing as a writer, I’d be willing to give up the comfort of rest to put in the time and dedication needed.

Tell us a little about yourself — perhaps something not many people know?

I grew up in the only English-speaking country in South America: Guyana. As a teenager, I was an avid reader — I’d even sneak under the covers with a torchlight and read into the early hours of the morning. That love of books never left me. Today, I still read about one to two books a month. Another little-known fact: I begin every morning by reciting affirmations, a daily ritual I’ve practiced joyfully for over 15 years.

If you had to do something differently as a child or teenager to become a better writer as an adult, what would you do?

As a child, I used to read the dictionary to learn new words, then try them out in conversation. My friends and relatives often gave me odd looks, but I loved experimenting with language. Looking back, I wish I hadn’t cared at all about being judged. If I could change anything, I would have leaned even harder into my curiosity and love for words without fear of standing out.

What is the biggest surprise that you experienced after becoming a writer?

I discovered that I have supporters in unexpected places! I’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback and encouragement, not just from people close to me but also from those I’ve recently met — people who believe deeply in the message of my book. That kind of support has been one of the most humbling and uplifting surprises of this journey.

Could you tell us a bit about your most recent book and why it is a must-read?

Mom, Take Center Stage is my debut book, written for moms who are tired of living in the background of their own lives. So many women give their all to everyone else but forget themselves in the process. This book is a reminder — and an invitation — for moms to stop shrinking, stop shelving their dreams, and finally step boldly into the spotlight of their own lives.

It’s a must-read because it speaks to a universal truth: when mothers thrive, families and communities thrive too. My goal is to give moms both the inspiration and the practical encouragement to reclaim their sense of self-worth, pursue the goals they’ve put aside, and live unapologetically. It’s not just about motherhood — it’s about womanhood, identity, and the courage to say: This is my time. Time to take center stage.

Review Tour + #Giveaway: Birds, Puppies, and Murder (Chocolate Martini Sisters Mystery #4) by Joyce Proell and Brenda Whiteside @jproell1 @brendawhitesid2 @GoddessFish

BIRDS, PUPPIES, AND MURDER

(Chocolate Martini Sisters Mystery #4)

Joyce Proell and Brenda Whiteside

GENRE: Cozy Mystery

Blurb:

Lost puppies, endangered birds…

The sisters are birddogs on a murder most fowl.

The sisters are thriving like mountain sage in an Arizona autumn. Nicole’s yoga business is gaining a foothold in Wyatt. Emma’s first mystery novel is scheduled for release. But a proposed, expansive building project in the pristine area of the bird sanctuary has the community in an uproar. It’s Environmentalists versus Big Business, and the sisters are caught in the cross-fire.

When one of Nic’s yoga students is found dead near the planned resort, the amateur sleuths are back on the trail of a killer. Who has the most to gain from her death—the morally challenged developer, the money-grubbing boyfriend, her jealous brother, a nasty neighbor, or a co-worker with dark secrets? And where has Skittles, the dog, gone?

While the Chocolate Martini Sisters sort through the litany of villains, they’re leaving no mystery unsolved. The stakes are escalating, throwing the sisters on divergent paths that all come together at a dangerous intersection. As they unsnarl the tangled mysteries, will they expose the murderer before the killer finds a way to silence them?

Excerpt:

Gus!”

The black mutt exploded from behind the building, dissolving her tension. He raced past her, his bark excited, and did a complete three-sixty, before he bounded off from where he’d been.

What in the…” He disappeared behind the building, and she shouted his name again. When he didn’t return, she trudged after him, shoulders tight with frustration. “Feel free to wait, Auntie, while I reign him in.”

Lydia laughed and skipped after her. “Don’t worry about me. I may not move as fast as I used to, but I’m still moving.” She cackled joyously, alarming several blackbirds she recognized as grackles who jetted from a yellowed leafed Aspen.

Emma rounded the far corner of the building, following a dirt path covered generously with fallen pine needles from nearby trees. The back-half of Gus jutted from a cluster of rangy bushes, rear end wiggling.

Gus. Get out of there.” A sharp whimper made her wince. Concerned he’d cornered a critter, she grabbed his collar, inching him backwards. When she saw what lay on the ground, her heart lurched into her throat. “Oh, no.” She couldn’t believe it. “Come away!” She tugged the excitable animal, struggling to contain him, and yanked the leash from her jacket pocket. “Lydia, stay back! You don’t want to see this.” Hand trembling, she managed to hook Gus to his leash and wrangled him from the bushes.

What’s going on?” Lydia asked, sounding worried.

There’s a dead body.”

My Review:

Birds, Puppies, and Murder is a captivating mystery novel that drew me in from the very first page. The intricate plot and well-developed characters kept me guessing, making each twist and turn even more thrilling. Even after finishing the book, I found myself reflecting on the themes and eager to discuss it with friends. I can’t wait to read more in the Chocolate Martini Sisters Mystery series.

The story follows the Chocolate Martini Sisters, Nic and Emma, as they investigate a new murder case. They are quite skilled at solving mysteries, and this one involves a web of deceit and betrayal among a diverse cast of suspects, including a shady developer, a greedy boyfriend, and a co-worker with dark secrets. As the sisters delve deeper, they uncover hidden connections that lead them closer to the truth.

When I met the boyfriend, I was suspicious of his behavior and thought, "Yeah, he did it," but then another suspect was introduced, and I was no longer sure about who did it, leaving me with many unanswered questions.

Each twist and turn in the plot keeps me on the edge of my seat, eager to unravel the truth alongside the sisters. I can't help but wonder how they will piece together the clues and ultimately reveal the real culprit.

Overall, this captivating murder mystery, Birds, Puppies, and Murder, is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a thrilling whodunit. Don't miss out on this gripping tale—get your copy today!

LGBTQ Romance, Vampires

Date Published: October 3, 2025

Publisher: Changeling Press

A ritual decades ago leads Beau to the one person he never expected to meet: his fated mate.

Detective Beau Kirkland has to work directly with the local vampire house to find a murderer, but that’s the easy part. The difficult part? His attraction to Garrett Dawson’s, one of House Saridan’s top hunters.

Garrett Dawson’s methods are brutal but very effective, even for a vampire. When a mortal detective begins working with House Saridan, Garrett finds himself unable to ignore the attraction between them.

EXCERPT

Garrett

There were few things I truly loved in this world, and one was currently in my hand as I took the elevator up to the fifteenth floor of Saridan Tower. No one else shared my addiction to the most amazingly sweet coffee concoction currently sending copious amounts of caffeine through my system. I stepped off the elevator on the top floor and headed down the hall to the usual conference room. I didn’t get any farther than the doorway, though. I simply froze, body alternating between hot and cold.

Normally, these meetings were just the three of us lead Venari and Deacon.

Not today, apparently.

Beau Kirkland looked up at me, eyes wide for a moment. No one said a word -- not even Deacon. Somehow, I got my feet to move and sat opposite the omega cop. It took more effort than I really had this morning to focus on work and not the stupidly hot human across from me.

I didn’t go for twinks like the others. I liked my men older, more experienced. Beau fit that requirement with ease. His short brown hair bore a little bit of gray here and there, and his dark chocolate-colored eyes studied me whenever I glanced at his face. He was a few inches shorter than my own six-three, and unlike most omegas, he was a bit muscular due to his job. Dressed in his dark navy uniform, he presented the most fucking delectable package on the planet. I cursed silently and tore my gaze from his when all blood began rushing south.

Deacon cleared his throat and looked at each of us. “I’m sure you all know one another, but for protocol’s sake, I’d like to introduce Officer Beau Kirkland. He’s our liaison within the police department. He’s also the one handling this latest case on their end. Officer Kirkland, these are my head Venari: Nikolai Hart, Victor Pace, and Garrett Dawson.”

Beau nodded. “Good morning, gentlemen.”

We exchanged the usual pleasantries before Deacon continued. “I’m stepping back for now,” he said, glancing at me briefly, “but I’m here if needed. To that end, the table’s yours, Officer Kirkland.”

“Thank you,” Beau said. He handed each of us several folders. “Eight victims so far, all completely drained. Eyewitnesses have seen the perp in passing, but no one can agree on a description.”

“Could be a Lupyn,” Vic said as he flipped through the contents of one of the folders.

“That was my assumption, but you all know far better than we do if that’s the case.”

I went through the first folder in front of me. Crime scene photos, pics of the victims post-mortem, notes, and statements. I scanned over everything and couldn’t disagree with the shapeshifter idea. It would make sense.

“What do you need from us?” Nik asked Beau. “We’re more than happy to work with you and your folks.”

I’m not sure I would’ve gone that far, but we did need to get this monster off the streets. I might not have been particularly nuts about humans, but that didn’t mean I wished them dead. My methods were saved for my own kind.

Beau passed out papers to us. “These are the last few places he was sighted. He’s a vampire, so we humans are outgunned here. We can help corner him, but capture is a different story altogether.”

Nik nodded. “Agreed. Well, we’re here and ready to go hunting.”

I didn’t miss the slight grimace on Beau’s face before he managed to school it into something more neutral. Apparently, neither did Deacon, but the man just remained silent.

“Thank you,” Beau said. “Please keep me updated on everything. In the meantime, I’ll be at the station downtown, trying to narrow our possible location leads.”

“Thank you for coming to us,” Deacon said. “I guarantee we will be in touch. These guys are my best hunters, and I have no doubt they’ll find this son of a bitch.”

Despite the situation, Beau smiled. “Thank you very much.”

The others left the room, though Beau shot me a cryptic look before stepping out the door. I stayed seated, knowing Deacon had something to say. Sure enough, as soon as we were alone, he leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.

“Is this going to be an issue?”

I could’ve played dumb, but he already knew everything. There wasn’t any point. “No. I’m fully capable of working with him.”

Deacon raised one eyebrow. “Really? Because pheromones say otherwise.”

I managed to avoid scowling at him. Lupyns were more sensitive to things like that than Venari. “Unlike Nik, I’m perfectly capable of keeping my dick in my pants, Deacon.”

He didn’t say anything for a few seconds. He was far older than us, and being under his scrutiny made even me feel like a scolded kid sometimes. “Don’t let it get the best of you, Garrett. His job involves danger, and you can’t protect him from that unless you’re mated and bonded completely.”

“Who said I was --” I snapped my mouth shut at his glare.

“I’m old, not an idiot.” Deacon leaned forward and put his arms on the table. “Either fight this until the perp is in custody or fucking claim Beau. I can’t have you out there distracted. Understood?”

“Yes,” I replied, biting back a growl.

“Good. Dismissed.”

I stood abruptly, grabbed the folders and paper, and left the conference room. I made it halfway down the hall before Nik and Vic both cornered me. Fuck.

“That didn’t go well, did it?” Vic asked.

“No,” I snarled.

I continued walking, and they followed me to the elevator. I stabbed the DOWN button and had to unclench my fist before I gave into the urge to hit something. In the door’s reflection, I saw Nik and Vic exchange cautious glances.

We all stepped into the elevator and took it to the lobby. Without another word said, it was a given where we’d wind up. Colby’s was the city’s best diner with the most amazing coffee blends. Maybe the combination of carbs, sugar, and caffeine would calm me down because just the thought of claiming Beau sure as fuck wasn’t doing it.

Quite the opposite, actually.

I was hard as a fucking rock.
