Book Tour: Review of The Reborn: The Book of Dain By Casse Narome
Title: The Reborn: The Book of Dain
by Casse Narome
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Release date: 3/21/13 from Bayou Brew Publishing
Blurb:
Dain has lived a total of ninety-nine different lifetimes and in every single one he has loved the same girl. But now Tara is gone and in her place there stands Bonnie, the complete opposite of Tara. Is Dain's shot at love over or has he lived all these lives because he has been loving the wrong girl?
Excerpt:
"Dain, we are here. We are walking the rest of the way."
I sat up as Bonnie reached back from the front seat to shake me again. Still half asleep, I grabbed her hand, and she allowed me to pull her through the opening. I tugged her onto my lap in the cramped back seat and closed my arms around her. It was nice to have her back where she belonged. Whether she was Bonnie or Tara, she felt familiar. She didn't melt into me like she usually would have, and I tried to ignore the hurt that wreaked havoc on my heart.
"Where are Marco and Akila?" My groggy voice was thick with gravel.
"They are looking around for a place to hide the car."
I snuggled against her neck, inhaling deeply. Her skin was warm, fragrant silk against my nose. I nuzzled deeper. "You don't like me much do you, Bonnie?" She lifted her chin, allowing me to trail my lips along her jaw. Her breath caught as I flicked my tongue against the dip beneath her earlobe.
"You are a stranger to me, Dain, so how can I dislike you? But you aren't the man I love. I love Dylan."
I kissed her chin, and now her breath sped up in response. I felt her pulse racing beneath my finger tips on her wrist.
"Bonnie, if you knew what I know about Dylan, you'd hate him as much as I do."
"I could never hate Dylan." She turned to face me, our lips a breath away from one another. Her eyes blazed with a fire deep from within her that I had never seen in Tara, and I was almost consumed by the heat.
My Review:
I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.
Dain and Tara have loved each other for an eternity and eternity of ninety-nine years. Dain and Tara are soulmates that have found each other through all of their lifetimes together. Tara is usually the one who is looking for Dain in each of their lifetimes. They have been told that they are reincarnated ninety-nine different times and if they have not made their lives together work in this lifetime this is it they don't get another shot.
Tara goes looking for Dain but she doesn't find him. She finds Dylan instead, Dylan is Dain in this lifetime but at the moment Dain doesn't know this and doesn't know who Tara is at first. Dain/Dylan has fallen for another girl in this lifetime. In this last chance liftime Dylan is in love with Missy and when he sees Tara for the first time he doesn't know her. Although he feels deep down in his heart that he has met this girl before. But he just can't seem to put his finger on it. Dylan and Tara start talking and everything comes back to Dylan he remembers that he is not Dylan that he is Dain. At the moment when Dain remembers who he is and who Tara is he realizes that he has never loved Missy and that she is not the person her thought she was. Dain realize that he loves Tara and has loved her for all of eternity.
Tara sees Dain and Missy together and then she knows that Dain has not waited for her in this lifetime and it breaks her heart. Her heart is so broken up over the fact that Dain didn't wait for her that she tells him it is over that he must not truly love her or he would not be with Missy. Tara is a very sweet and loving person she is the complete opposite of Missy. When Dain figures out who he is and who Tara is he can't see how he ever thought he could have loved Missy. What Dain doesn't know is that her was set up, framed.
Wouldn't it be a grand and glorious day to wake up one morning and you realize that you are someone else that you are living another life? And you're like oh wow this is the day that I meet my soulmate. You go from one life to the next and you always know that you and the one that you love will see each other in the next life. What would make it more grander would be the fact that you could remember each and every one of the lives that you have lived. You could like make a date with your soulmate. You could tell them to meet you in say Illinois in front of the Lincoln memorial on July 23, 2054.
The Reborn: The Book of Dain is one grand book that I think everyone should give it a shot especially if you believe in reincarnation. Well and even if you don't it is still a good read one that you would not regret trying it. I loved how that even when Dain and Tara were not their self and they were Dylan and Bonnie they were still drawn to one another. They had feelings for one another that they didn't understand. So click that link up there and go get your copy and start reading it today.

Excerpt:
Javier led Caroline to the seclusion of the stable then spun to face her. "Are you buttering up my employees to gather secrets about my resort so you can undermine my success and create your own for Sunburst Hotels?"
She blinked, her blue eyes owlish and innocent. "You think I arrived in a helicopter and announced my presence to the entire county to engage in corporate espionage? Granted, I don't have any prior experience, but I think I'd take the under-the-radar approach. Arrive in a rental car and check in anonymously. Maybe apply for a job as a janitor."
Okay, so he'd accused before thinking the idea through. Her closeness rendered him temporarily insane. He gripped her upper arms. "What are you doing then?"
"For Sunburst Hotels? Absolutely nothing. I quit my job a month ago."
"You want to apply as my private janitor? I'm only in my office at night, and if you came in I guarantee you wouldn't be emptying garbage cans."
Her eyes grew even more luminous. "What would I be doing?"
"Stripping, so I could take you on my desk."
Her lips parted, as if the image turned her on.
The hell with the desk. He pulled her flush to his body, wanting her immediately-in the stable, on his real turf.
"Wait." She pushed against his chest. "We can't just pick up where we left off fifteen years ago."
"Why not? We're two consenting, unattached adults."
Of course, they had issues from the past to work through. But when they'd been together, she understood him the way no one else ever had.
"Um." Her gaze dropped away from his. "Actually, I'm not unattached. I'm engaged."

Excerpt:
Talk time was over. We stared. And stared. And stared some more.
His smoky blue eyes bled to black and his power pushed at me, hot and hard, causing a response inside me, like a rumbling volcano deep in my core. My eyes widened. Was this the power my family had mentioned? No longer dormant and infinitely more intense than a little static electricity in my palms.
Alexander crushed his lips to mine. Need roared through me leaving me breathless with edgy hunger.
My hands burrowed into his thick, silky hair, holding his head as if he might try to escape. He growled his approval against my lips, his kiss growing more insistent. His tongue explored my mouth. He tasted metallic, like the blood he'd consumed. Again, I found I liked the taste. My tongue danced with his and delved into his mouth, searching for more penny metal flavor. He groaned and tightened his embrace.
I thought we'd devour each other forever, but Alexander stiffened and his head snapped up. His eyes glinted black as night, wild with lust and...aggression? He bared his teeth in a snarl, canines morphing into fangs. Long, sharp, lethal.
On instinct, I pushed against his chest to get some distance between those teeth and my neck. He ignored me, head whipping around to survey the room. A feral growl erupted from his throat and he shoved me under the table.
My cries of protest were drowned out by animalistic roars and breaking furniture. From my spot under the table, I felt around on the bench for my coat, all the while keeping an eye on the room. Dark blurs flitted back and forth, pieces of table and chair flew by...Bingo. My coat. I searched the pocket for my phone. Once in hand, I hit the button for my boys.
The fighting around me stopped. The familiar techno ring tone of Mark's phone broke the sudden silence. He's here?
The table above me was tossed away. Steel hands grabbed my legs and dragged me, face down. I dropped the phone and flattened my palms on the floor, trying to resist. One hand bumped into a steak knife and I grabbed it. My assailant flipped me over and lunged. I aimed for his heart but the knife plunged into his throat.
