My Review:
What the Kiln Remembers is an excellent addition to The Kilin Coast Series by Josie Dunfield. From the very first page, I found myself immersed in its enchanting world, drawn deeper into its mysteries with every turn of the page.
Millie arrived at Verano's Spit with the intention of staying just a short while. She was there to sort through a house she had inherited from a relative. However, as she became acquainted with the town and its residents, she made the decision to extend her stay.
There exists a long-forgotten mystery in the town, something that transpired ages ago, yet no one recalls it. The town once resonated with song, but that melody has since vanished, and the townspeople no longer recall it.
Millie discovers the history of the singing and resolves to investigate — she is determined to uncover what transpired all those years ago. She seeks to understand why the town ceased to sing.
I too was eager to learn why the town had stopped singing and why the song had slipped from their memories. What the Kiln Remembers had me racing to the conclusion, desperate to uncover the secrets of the past.
I found myself unable to turn the pages quickly enough. The more I read, the more I craved to continue. I am excited to see what future installments of The Kilin Coast Series may bring, and I sincerely hope there will be more stories set in the enchanting town of Verano's Spit.
