Book Tour: If Two of Them Are Dead by Gina M. Bennett @RABTBookTours

Spy Thriller / Historical Fiction

Date Published: October 9, 2025

Publisher: Manhattan Book Group

Two spies. Two centuries. One mistake that erases the United States of America.

When Ruth, a modern-day CIA counterintelligence officer, uncovers signs of a mole no one believes exists—a potential fourth Soviet spy left over from the Cold War—her investigation is abruptly derailed by an impossible event. Thrown back through time to the American Revolutionary War, Ruth finds herself face-to-face with Agent 355, the legendary—and still unidentified—female spy of George Washington’s Culper Ring.

Separated by 250 years yet bound by shared instincts, courage, and tradecraft, the two women quickly recognize each other as fellow intelligence officers. Together, they uncover a covert plot that, if left unchecked, will alter the course of history itself—resulting in a chilling alternate reality: the British States of America.

When Ruth returns to the present, the world she knew is gone. The United States no longer exists. Instead, she is working for MI7, piecing together clues that link her failed mole hunt to the catastrophic change she triggered in 1780. To restore history—and democracy—Ruth must find a way to repair the past without destroying the future.

If Two of Them Are Dead reimagines Agent 355 as the founding mother of American intelligence, bringing her out of historical anonymity and into a gripping narrative that celebrates the often-unrecognized role of women in espionage. The novel explores how effective spycraft transcends time—relying on deception close to truth, strategic disinformation, vigilance, and counter-surveillance—while highlighting the unique advantages women have historically brought to intelligence work precisely because they were underestimated.

Blending spy thriller, historical fiction, and science fiction, this novel is both a pulse-pounding adventure and a reflection on the enduring threats to democracy. Ruth’s unresolved mole investigation seamlessly sets the stage for future books in the series—without leaving readers stranded on a cliffhanger.

Perfect for fans of espionage thrillers, time-travel fiction, Revolutionary War history, and readers eager to uncover America’s best-kept secrets as the nation approaches its semiquincentennial.

SOULMATE REGISTRY — CASE FILE #8

Three women who left. Three alphas who never stopped waiting. Three animal sidekicks who have opinions about all of it.

Stitched to the Alpha Indie hasn't stayed anywhere longer than seventy-two hours in years. New town, new name, new life — all to keep her daughter safe. She's three days from disappearing again when her stroller rips the shirt clean off a billionaire alpha wolf. Her seamstress hands can fix the damage. Her wolf, suddenly screaming mate after years of silence, is a bigger problem. Especially with a wombat business consultant tracking her heart rate from inside the stroller and reminding her she's already behind schedule.

Claimed by the Baker Melanie left Millhaven — and Caspian — a decade ago. Now she's back with a fiancé in the city, a guinea pig who claims to have an MBA from Harvard, and a plan: break the mark, win the baking competition, leave forever. Simple. Except the pendant she hasn't felt in years is warming against her skin, the Alpha she abandoned just washed flour out of her eyes like no time has passed, and Sir Nugget's strategic consultation is starting to sound less like business advice and more like a reason to stay.

Alpha's Last Station Nell has spent five years selling tickets at a forgotten train station, hiding behind a suppressant bracelet and a quiet life. Her son knows the disappearing drill by heart. She was seventy-two hours from running again — until she screamed a warning that saved an Alpha's life and blew her cover in a single breath. Now there's a poisoned wolf in the hospital, rogues in the snow, and a wallaby scout captain who has declared martial law and stamped an intruder's forehead with VALIDATED.

She left him ten years ago. She's been running for five. She's been hiding even longer.

But some doors stay open longer than we deserve.

And the bravest thing a heart can do is walk back through.

Returning into Love is the eighth book in The Soulmate Registry Collection — wolf shifter romances with fated mates, fairy godmother meddling, talking animal sidekicks who absolutely steal the show, and love that always wins. Each story delivers a complete happily ever after.

For readers who believe in second chances, fresh-baked croissants, and wallabies with zero concept of proportional response.

Returning Into Love is Book 8 in Fairy Tales with Fangs — The Soulmate Registry Collection. Wolf shifter romances with heart, humor, and animal sidekicks who absolutely steal the show.

My Review:

Stitched to the Alpha

This is the tale of Indie Voss, her five-year-old daughter Hazel, a billionaire alpha wolf named Archer Gray, and Vint, a wombat who fancies himself a business consultant.

Indie is en route to pick up Hazel from school when she accidentally collides with a man, tearing his shirt in the process. Being a skilled seamstress, Indie offers to mend the man's shirt for him.

For a long time, Indie, Hazel, and Vint have been on the run. Indie is fleeing to safeguard her young daughter. After bumping into Archer Gray while pushing the stroller, Indie senses it's time to flee once more. She will go to any lengths to ensure her little girl is shielded from the dangers of the world, no matter the cost.

Indie and Gray have been attempting to conceal their wolves for some time, but when they meet, both of their wolves awaken and take notice of one another. But can they forge a life together? Not if it means running to protect her daughter.

From the moment I started reading Stitched to the Alpha, I was captivated. The story enveloped me from the very first page, drawing me into its magnificent world. I completely lost track of my own reality while immersed in Stitched to the Alpha.

Claimed by the Baker is Melanie, Sir Nugget, and Caspian’s story.

As Melanie tidies up Rosewood Manor, the home her aunt Maggie bequeathed to her, her ex, Caspian, unexpectedly walks in. In her fluster, she accidentally spills flour all over herself, even getting some in her eye. Now, she finds herself in the kitchen with her ex while he gently wipes the flour from her eyes.

The scent of pine, leather, and a hint of wildness emanating from Caspian makes her wolf stir for the first time in years. Since she was sixteen, Caspian has held a special place in Melanie’s heart. Although she’s only back for a few weeks to participate in the Golden Whisk Competition, her intention is not to rekindle things with her ex.

Moreover, Caspian is currently dating Rosalie, the town’s cherished champion baker, who has won the competition for the past five years. With his good looks, success, and alpha wolf status, it’s no surprise he’s with someone. Rosalie is genuinely nice, which only complicates Melanie’s feelings of jealousy.

While she’s not there to vie for Caspian’s affection, her focus is solely on the baking competition. After that, she plans to return home to marry her fiancé, Bradley.

Claimed by the Baker was an enthralling read that captured my attention from the very first page. I adored Sir Nugget and his personality from the moment I encountered him. I appreciated how he consistently looked out for Melanie, always striving to keep her safe.

Alpha's Last Station is Nell Castlemain, who serves as the Station Manager. Bumper, a Wallaby, Alex Winters, the alpha wolf, Theo, Nell's five-year-old son, and Jamie Winters, Alex’s brother, are all part of this tale.

For five years, Nell has been in hiding, fleeing from a pack that no longer desires her presence. Her sole wish is to protect her son. Five years ago, she arrived in Glen Valley, cradling a newborn in her arms, where she met Adam, who offered her a job selling train tickets and looked after her and her child.

While Nell is busy selling train tickets, an alpha wolf named Alex is attacked. Her wolf instinctively reacts. During the confrontation, Alex is poisoned. Nell provides him refuge in her ticket booth. Alex’s wolf declares that Nell is his mate. As Nell prepares to flee once more to safeguard her son, Alex’s mother arrives, urging her to stay because Alex needs his mate.

When Theo is burning with fever, Jamie and Alex come to the rescue, preventing Nell from leaving. However, Nell is hesitant to trust them, haunted by the betrayal of her pack that led to her expulsion while she was pregnant with her unborn child.

Alpha's Last Station is packed with unexpected surprises that truly astonished me. There was a significant twist that had me staring at the pages, struggling to comprehend what I had just read; it was indeed shocking.

I found Nell, Alex, and Theo’s journey to be both heartwarming and poignant, a blend of joy and sorrow. I was so engrossed in their story that I didn’t want to put it down, but as we all know, life sometimes intervenes, leaving us with no choice but to pause, wouldn’t you agree?

I truly cherished reading the stories of Indie, Melanie, and Nell, each finding a second chance at love. Their talking animal companions brought me so much joy.

These narratives filled my heart with a sense of warmth. I will hold onto their stories for a long time ahead. Each of the three tales was enchanting, keeping me engaged from the very first page to the final one. Once I began reading, I found myself reluctant to put it down.

I wholeheartedly suggest you pick up a copy of Returning Into Love: Soulmate Registry, the eighth installment in the Fairy Tales With Fangs series by D. N. Leo.
