Book Tour + #Giveaway: Changing Woman’s Hair by Jan D. Payne @PayneRabbit @RABTBookTours

Marin Sinclair, Book 2

Suspense Thriller

Date Published: 09/15/2025

Publisher: RabbitHole LLC

When Marin Sinclair discovers teenager Garret Washburn in danger from a deadly conspiracy involving bootlegged alcohol, wolf-witches, an election campaign, murder, and an unknown bomber, she looks to Navajo Nation Police Sergeant Justin Blue Eyes and Federal Agent Cullen MacPherson to help protect Vangie Tso's son from the dark forces at play.

Interview with Jan D Payne, author of Marin Sinclair series Book Two: ‘Changing Woman’s Hair’

What is your favorite part of the book?

I think any author can tell you how their characters often surprise them with unexpected opinions or actions. Some of my favorite scenes are the unexpected ‘philosophical’ conversations: like Marin telling Mac that ‘light doesn’t compete with darkness—light is an entity in itself’, or when she is arguing with Lewis George about evil and he tells her that ‘to mankind has been given the gift to choose’ and that ‘all the ‘Creator’s good gifts may be twisted from their intended purpose and thus cause evil.’

Marin’s horseback rescue by Garret, Marin’s teenaged ward, was also a surprise, especially as Garret has made it plain throughout the book he wants absolutely nothing to do with Marin. His unexpected, and daring, rescue turned out to be a pivotal, and emotional, point in their acceptance of one another. Who knew?!

Does your book have a lesson? Moral?

The Marin Sinclair series in essence is really all about family... how bonds formed through shared experiences (even terrifying ones!) are as meaningful as those of blood, encouraging us to look beyond traditional definitions of family and see that it’s the people who support, challenge, love, and shape you throughout your life who really make up family.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

No doubt there were people in my past who shared the same personality traits, but the characters are not real; I’d say they are amalgamations of those people and traits.

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?

Hard question, as all of them are ‘real’ to me! I’d say the most interesting is Lewis George. He is the perfect foil for Marin’s seriousness, her absolute belief in order, and her desire to live only in the concrete world. I love his somewhat irreverent treatment of the supernatural and his refusal to be a reliable partner to Marin in her desire for ‘normal’. I also love that he talks to Mac’s dog, Bear! I often wish I could hear what my own dogs are thinking!

What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

Probably Lewis George…I’m not good with unreliability.

What would the main character in your book have to say about you?

I’d like to think Marin and I would get along (!) but I’m afraid I would have little patience with her or she with me. She tends to dwell on the past—worrying over past regrets and wishing things were different—I’m more likely to say ‘let it go and move on with your life!’

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

The books are intended to be read as a series —there are connections between each book and on-going characters, and each book pertains to a specific issue relevant to life on the Dineh reservation. That said, each book may be read as a stand-alone, as I try to recap the general storyline with each new book. I’m currently working on Book #3 in the series…and I can’t wait to see who Marin is going to choose as her life partner—or IF she is going to choose!

Goodreads ~ Amazon ~ BookBub

My Review:

Gia enjoys her role as an escort for affluent clientele. There are no boundaries in her lifestyle; she delights in partying through the night, cherishes her time with men, and is free from financial worries. Indeed, she revels in this existence until she crosses paths with Alex, a bodyguard for Ricky, one of her clients. Gia's world may be on the verge of transformation as she finds herself falling deeply for Alex.

However, it becomes apparent that Ricky may not be the person he claims to be. He could be involved in some rather perilous dealings. It seems he is about to pull Gia into this dangerous world when he invites her to accompany him to a party to entertain his client’s wife. Who is Ricky, and what type of business is he engaged in? Is he about to lead Gia down a treacherous path?

After Gia is an excellent continuation in the After Dark Series, and I eagerly anticipate more. After Gia is an incredibly exciting and captivating narrative that kept me engrossed from start to finish.

I wholeheartedly recommend After Gia to all aficionados of romantic thrillers! Be sure to grab your copy of After Gia today!

He broke my heart. Now he wants me back.

KACIE: Micah Andrews was my everything—bandmate, best friend, and secret crush—until he replaced me as the drummer in his band.

I was devastated. I moved back home and vowed never to let myself be vulnerable again.

Now he’s begging me to come back to help him record an album on a super tight timeline. Rebecca—his new drummer—left him high and dry, and the label’s given him an ultimatum: Finish the album or they’re canceling his upcoming tour.

I tried to say no. I told him to find another drummer. But Micah doesn’t want another drummer.

He wants me.

I hear the emotion in his voice. I know how much he’s counting on me right now, and I also know how utterly lost I’ve been without him. I can’t walk away from this chance to repair our friendship, but I’d better figure out how to protect my heart—and fast—or Micah might just break it into a thousand pieces all over again, and then I’d lose my best friend. Forever.

Author Bio:

Kitt Henley writes short, spicy contemporary romance with relatable characters, a touch of humor, and tons of heart. Never one to make it through a good romance (or cookie commercial) with dry eyes, Kitt's heartstrings are easy to pull on. When she played in rock bands and crunched numbers in the Seattle tech world, those waterworks weren't an asset, but after a friend suggested she try writing romance, everything clicked into place. From the moment she sat down to write her first novel, she knew she'd found her calling.

When she's not wrangling words in her tiny bedroom office, Kitt loves to spend time with her high school best friend (a.k.a. her rockstar husband) and their two ridiculously funny boys. She's still holding out hope for that family band someday, but in the meantime she'll happily settle for camping trips, board games, long walks with friends, and watching lots and lots of thrillers.

Royal Danger
Avishai El
(The Mystique Series, #2)
Publication date: October 15th 2025
Genres: Adult, Mystery, Psychological, Thriller

Something happened to Vaughan.

Those closest to her speak in half-truths and glances. One moment, she was walking among them—intuitive, brave, haunted. The next, she was part of something no one can explain. A fracture in time. A storm no one saw coming. Some believe she stumbled into it. Others believe she was always meant to be its center.

They say she inherited a crown, but no one saw it placed on her head.

They say she vanished during the final seal, but no one witnessed her fall.

And they say the darkness never stopped chasing her… even now.

There were signs. Whispers. Visions. A golden ticket that kept appearing in strange places. A man named Eli who stayed by her side long after others fled. And a mother who saw too much, too late.

Was it destiny? Madness? Or something that lives in the shadows between?

Royal Danger is a slow-burning psychological mystery thriller laced with horror, surreal visions, and eerie spiritual phenomena. It is a story about intuition, unraveling identity, and the thin, terrifying veil between love, legacy, and annihilation.

EXCERPT:

“Flower’s body trembled as she sat on the cold floor, each breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The weight of the guilt crushed her, and her mind swirled with memories of the warnings—the cryptic visions that had haunted her for so long. She had been entrusted with Vaughan’s safety, told over and over to protect her, but somehow, she had failed. It wasn’t just a warning; it was a responsibility—one she had let slip through her fingers.

Why didn’t I act sooner? The question echoed in her mind. Vivid images of Andres flashed through her thoughts: his smiling face, his trusting eyes, and the way he had died so suddenly, so violently. The sharp memory of his lifeless body still haunted her dreams. Could she have saved him? No, but the feeling of regret overwhelmed her.

Her heart ached with the familiar sting of loss, of failure. She frantically looked at her phone for any sign of Vaughan, but all she saw was the silent screen, the unanswered call. Her thoughts twisted, each one more unbearable than the last. What if this is it? What if it’s too late?

The shrill, agonizing cry that had erupted from[…]”

“ in ragged gasps as she tried to figure out how to break free. The cold, hard floor beneath her felt like it was closing in.

Then, she stumbled.

Her foot collided with something heavy, sending it crashing to the ground. The sound of metal clanging against stone resounded through the room, and as her eyes darted down, she saw it—a pan, ancient and worn, its surface etched with symbols that seemed to dance in the dim light.”

Excerpt:

Although she had never seen a naked man, and she knew she ought to feel embarrassed, she did not look away as a warm prickle ran up her spine. It reminded her of that letter from so long ago… I can never say to how much I want my hands on you and yours on me.

It felt like another one of those moments where she fell out of time, but instead of anxiety, this was a warm dreamlike peace, and so she stood, just looking at him, taking everything in. Polite society would mark her as wicked for not looking away, but somehow society felt a million miles away from this lake, this moment. The man had dark blond hair, and he wore a full beard, which she rather liked, as there was something incredibly rugged about his beard and tanned skin, like he had spent time with the land. The man made no move to cover himself even though he seemed to have noticed her perusal. Water dripped from his beard down his torso, and his chest moved up and down as if breathing deeply. She followed the water down his chest down to the rest of his body, to the decidedly male part of him. Again, she knew she ought to feel embarrassed, but instead she felt curious. Confused. All the pieces of him were so intricate, all sinew and muscle, and her fingers pulsed in awareness. What a strange moment out of time this was, she thought, as her eyes went back to his, and she recognized something familiar in this stranger, for his eyes were so dark she couldn’t tell his reaction to her. She had only known one other person whose eyes were that dark, and he was in America. But, a small voice in her head chimed in, this was his family estate. And she would have been mortified to catch him like this. As realization dawned on her, embarrassment quickly overtook her, and she looked away.

About the Author

Claudia Kramer Kohlbrenner earned a B.S and an M.Ed. degree in the field of speech-language pathology and she also received extensive training in the teaching of reading. She maintained her American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification during her 35+ years of teaching and for many years after retirement. Claudia taught mainly in the public schools with students of all ages but primarily with special education and general education students at the preschool and elementary levels.

When teaching at the preschool level, Claudia encouraged busy parents to utilize the time spent carrying out daily routines as language-rich opportunities. Parents were counseled to talk about what was happening in a child’s “here and now” - while getting dressed, brushing teeth, taking a stroller walk! Claudia used available and self-generated rhymes and songs and involved as many bodily senses and movements as possible to facilitate developmental skills in preschoolers. She considers the repetition used in The Wheels on the Bus book and now in The Wheels on the Stroller to be a valuable learning tool for young children. According to early childhood research, repetition reinforces language processing, pattern recognition and a sense of predictability. It also provides children with opportunities to rehearse new sound and word sequences.

After retirement, Claudia’s love of rhyme inspired her to take a few children’s poetry writing classes. She was pleased to have several poems published in “Highlights High Five” and “Highlights” magazines, with two poems also published in children’s anthologies. The joy of reading to her sons long ago and now her grandchildren sparked her desire to write a children’s book as well. One day, after she and her young grandson enthusiastically sang and motioned along with The Wheels on the Bus book, grandma and grandson set out for one of their many adventure-seeking neighborhood stroller walks. As the wheels on his stroller went round and round, they greeted neighbors with tail-wagging dogs, watched squirrels scurry up trees and delighted in the “ding! ding! ding!” of an approaching bicycle along with other encounters- The Wheels on the Stroller was spontaneously born!

Release Blitz: Raising Genius by Nam Nguyen @CorporateDad7 @RABTBookTours

Mozart, Einstein, Jobs

Nonfiction, History, Biographies

Date Published: October 6, 2025

They were three of the greatest minds in history. But before they changed the world, they were children.

Raising Genius tells the untold parenting stories of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Albert Einstein, and Steve Jobs—and reveals the price of brilliance.

* Mozart’s father paraded him across Europe as a child prodigy, driving him to dazzling heights and early ruin.

* Einstein’s mother pushed him relentlessly, molding a stubborn dreamer into the world’s most famous scientist.

* Steve Jobs was adopted by a machinist and a bookkeeper, raised in a California garage where craftsmanship met rebellion—only to falter when fatherhood became his own test.

Written as gripping narrative nonfiction, Raising Genius reads like a novel but stays true to history. You’ll walk candlelit halls in Vienna, sit in Einstein’s parlor in Bern, and stand in the Los Altos garage where Apple was born. Each scene is real, each triumph shadowed by sacrifice.

This is not just another biography. It is a reflection on parenting and genius—how families shape greatness, and what genius costs in return.

Mozart gave his body.

Einstein gave his family.

Jobs gave his daughter.

The world remembers their brilliance. This is the story of the parents who made—and unmade—them.

About the Author

When I’m not building LEGO cities with my sons or racing through backyard obstacle courses, I’m writing about parenting, leadership, and the forces that shape human potential.

I blend backgrounds in psychology, neuroscience, and business strategy to create books that help parents and readers think differently about raising children, balancing modern life, and understanding the roots of genius. My work spans practical parenting guides like Raising Future Leaders and Perfect Parents Don’t Exist, as well as narrative nonfiction such as Raising Genius: Mozart, Einstein, Jobs — The Price of Brilliance.

Through my writing and consulting, I aim to make research and history not only accessible, but actionable—so that families can thrive, and readers can see the world in new ways.
