Excerpt from Eun Na and the Phantom by Erica Laurie:

“Are you a ghost?” Eun Na asked as she looked and saw Tae Kyung standing there. He was leaning up against a tree. His eyes went wide briefly, as a bit of color left his face. Was he surprised to see her? No, it wasn’t that Eun Na reminded herself. It was something else. He had called to her first.

“Something like that,” Tae Kyung replied.

“Well that would explain it” Eun Na walked to the side of the road where Tae Kyung was standing and sat down next to him. Eun Na removed her worn shoe. One of the pieces of twine was broken. She would need to mend it.

“What would explain what?” Tae Kyung asked as he joined her.

“Ghosts would explain my wound,” Eun Na said as she pulled off her sock and revealed the angry looking red streak on her leg. Its dark color became lighter. “It’s even healing right now, before my eyes.” If she hadn’t seen it fade, she’d not have believed it.

“Mmm,” Tae Kyung murmured as he reached over and put a hand on her head. She felt a tingling sensation on her scalp from his touch. “You must have hit your head when you fell into that hole.”

“Is that your polite way of saying I’m going crazy?” Eun Na said, turning her head to look at him as she spoke. The smile he gave her made her heart rate speed up. She moved to cover her feet when Tae Kyung spoke.

“There’s nothing wrong with your leg.”

“Huh?” Eun Na looked at her leg. Tae Kyung was right; the angry red wound was gone. “Maybe I am going crazy.” Eun Na gave Tae Kyung a pondering look, and then leaned over and pinched his arm hard.

“Hey! What did you do that for?” Tae Kyung shouted, leaning away from her.

“Sorry. I was just checking to see if you were real.”

“Shouldn’t you have pinched yourself to see if you were awake?” Tae Kyung grumbled, rubbing his arm and watching Eun Na warily.

“I am awake. That’s the problem,” Eun Na replied. “My life is turning into a huge mess it seems.”

“I think you need new shoes,” Tae Kyung informed her.

“What?” His sudden change of topic confused her.

“I bet that’s why you were limping. So, put your sock and shoe back on, and let’s go see what we can find.”

“That’s all right. I’ll make do with these. My family can’t afford shoes just now,” Eun Na explained as she finished putting her shoe back on and stood up. “Well, I must be going.”

“To buy shoes,” Tae Kyung said as he moved swiftly. He took one of Eun Na’s arms at the wrist, and in a fluid motion, lifted her onto his back, her legs to either side.

She had no choice but to wrap her arms around his neck and shoulder. “Hey! Put me down.”

“Only after we buy you a pair of shoes that are not worn out to strings.”

“They are made of twine,” Eun Na laughed.

“As I said, they are nothing more than strings,” Tae Kyung said, winning the argument.
Eun Na decided to rest her head on his strong shoulders and just enjoy the moment.

Book Blitz + #Giveaway: Fighter Girl by Kathryn James @Kathryn_James @XpressoTours @SwoonRomance

Fighter Girl
Kathryn James
Published by: Swoon Romance
Publication date: May 17th 2016
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult

“It began three days ago with a fight. Seems that for me, everything begins with a fight…”
Sammy Jo may be strong, fast and tough, even in heels, but she gets into trouble when she fights some local thugs to save a rich boy named Gregory.
Now bad guy McCloud is after her – and he’s even more dangerous than her forbidden love for Gregory.
Fighter Girl was published in the United Kingdom under the title GYPSY GIRL.

EXCERPT:

The wedding is over.

My beautiful bridesmaid dress is soaked in blood. Bright crimson patterning the white. The hem ragged and torn. The tulle skirt missing and the strapless bodice ripped. My tiara is long gone. My hair stiffened with dried blood, not mousse. My legs are crumpled beneath, unable to move. I’m like a ragdoll.

I’m lying here in this circle of trees by the black water. They call it a beauty spot. I can’t see any beauty today. Only death. The magpies warned us.

Gregory is beside me, his sun-streaked, fair hair red with blood, his face white as a ghost. Shocked and injured again. It’s my fault. I want to hug him, hold him close, tell him I didn’t mean to let this happen to him. But I can’t move. Anyway, he probably hates me.

Is it over? Don’t ask me.

In the distance, I can hear emergency sirens. Has everyone found out? Has my daddy? His name is Samson Smith. He comes from a long line of champion fighters.

My name is Sammy-Jo Smith. I’m the only girl to have inherited the Smith fighting skills. Sometimes I love it, but now I hate it. I’m too fast, too strong, even in my Jimmy Choo heels. It’s brought me here, to this place of death.

It began three days ago with a fight. Seems that for me everything always begins with a fight …

Blurb Blitz Tour + #Giveaway: The Young Vampire's Survival Guide by Lucy Eldritch @lucyeldritch @GoddessFish

The Young Vampire's Survival Guide
by Lucy Eldritch
GENRE: Vampire/Urban fantasy/Paranormal/Horror

BLURB:

Within a month of being bitten, it cost the life of Robert James' best friend. Within a year, hundreds had died. All because of him.

Until he was bitten, Robert James was a regular college student. Now he seems to be the reluctant future of vampire kind and his world has been turned upside down. Pursued by the Dawn Warriors - a group dedicated to cleansing the world of evil - Robert's survival is at stake. Literally.

EXCERPT:

Outside, the cloying thickness of mouldering food mingled with an almost tangible damp smell all alleyways seemed to have.

As soon as the door to the cafe creaked to a close, I moved fast - so quick, in fact, that she never even had time to look shocked as I clamped my hand over her mouth, pushed back her head and tore a great chunk of flesh from her neck. The smell in the alley masked the coppery stench of blood as I sunk my teeth into Stacey's throat.

I was almost too greedy as I drank from her. The Hunger overwhelmed any humanity I had left. I would have killed her, I'm sure, had a noise at the other end of the alley not stopped me.

Someone was clearing their throat. Polite, as if it was rude to interrupt.

I couldn't see the person who stood there. The far end of the alley was all formless shadows and darkness. But the voice was both feminine and familiar.

"Robert," it said, "this really isn't appropriate behaviour."

I'd already guessed the identity of the person who sent that anonymous text and who had agreed to meet me at the Cafe, so a woman's voice came as no surprise.

I was wrong.

AUTHOR BIO:

I’m Lucy Eldritch and I write paranormal-horror-urban-fantasy-vampire fiction set mainly in Manchester (the one in the UK, not the one in New Hampshire) and London. I also love red wine, but I suspect that’s not really something I should mention. Not professional. Something like that. So, consider it un-mentioned.

Blurb Blitz Tour + #Giveaway: The Bad Decision Legacy by Morgan Kay @morgankwyatt @GoddessFish

The Bad Decision Legacy
by Morgan Kay
GENRE: Romantic Suspense

BLURB:

The Men of Machismo series revolves around nine friends who worked together in a male revue. Each book follows the life of a different former dancer seven years later. The Bad Decision Legacy is Will and Tonya’s story.

Tonya’s psychotic ex is stalking her. Not the best time to meet men, still her best friend begs her to show up for blind date dinner. Her plan includes the meet and greet, then heading home. Of course, she never expected a man who sent every hormone in her body into high alert. Will looked like her next bad decision.

Will’s work as a divorce lawyer included discouraging embittered women from ramming their soon to be exes with the car or setting fire to their husband’s latest girlfriend. No wonder he fell hard for Tonya. The first woman he met with no agenda, well almost none. It’s obvious Tonya is knee deep in trouble, but refuses to ask for help. Instead of running the other way, he contemplates dashing into the tornado she refers to as her life. With any luck, he might survive.

EXCERPT:

A quick scan revealed he was in his business attire, minus the suit jacket. His loosened tie and undone top button announced he was ready to leave work behind for the day. He held out his empty hand. “Hi, I’m Will, Will Robinson.”

Tonya gave his hand a vigorous shake remembering from her business training that a weak handshake always decreased the client’s confidence in your ability. “Hi, Will Robinson. Wasn’t your family trying to get to Alpha Centauri?” The quip may have been ill-advised, but his name brought up memories of an old science fiction show sometimes featured in black and white reruns. It also helped cover her surprise that a simple touch jumpstarted a chemical reaction, one she’d considered out of commission.

Will kept her hand a tad longer than needed, while he smiled with his eyes. “Ah, we weren’t that Robinson family. Mine was the one that hadn’t seen the show and didn’t understand why naming me Will was not a kindness.”

Tonya found herself grinning back at the witty male. “Did the other kids pick on you?”

“Not too much, but there was this one female who gave me a hard time, and I didn’t even know her name.” He nodded toward the front door where Lynne stood waiting.

She almost asked him what grade that was until she realized he was referring to her. “Oh, her. The name’s Tonya Smiley.”

Her last name embarrassed her. It was such a cute name. Why couldn’t she have an ordinary name like Tyler or Brooks? To push past the inevitable remarks about her being smiley or having a beautiful smile or even her name suiting her, she went defensive. “Why were you sneaking around eavesdropping on our girl talk?”

Her abrupt question triggered Lynne’s coughing. In between coughs, she managed to mutter, “Watch it.”

Will threw his hands up over his head, one still wrapped around the neck of the wine bottle. “You got me. I’m guilty. I snuck out the side door that Marc showed me to retrieve the wine I forgot. The two of you were deep into conversation. I didn’t think it was my place to interrupt, but when I felt your outfit was being criticized, I had to say something.”

AUTHOR BIO:

Morgan K Wyatt writes steamy romances with a side of laughter under the name of Morgan Kay. The wisecracking heroines and hunky heroes are similar to the ones in her mainstream novels, but in the Steamy Interludes series, the bedroom door is left open.  Real life issues, humor, dogs are also staples in Morgan Kay romances.

Will the secrets Volturn Manor harbors offer Zoltan and Sophia the clues they need to defeat Marcus and give them the opportunity to explore their feelings for one another?

EXCERPT:

Marcus sneered, then pointed at Zoltan. "He's William's get."

Zoltan fisted his hand next to his body, his muscles tensing. He was face-to-face with
these disgusting man-wolves who he had nothing in common with.

Marcus gestured to his left. "My brother, Rufus." He paused and motioned to his right.

"William. He enjoys leaving scars on his victims."

"What do you do to your victims?" asked Zoltan, his voice cold, devoid of emotion.

"I made a few 'gets' before taking over from my father. I know who they are, but since
taking my father's place, I kill my 'gets' now."

"How gracious of you not to turn anyone else," Zoltan spat.

"I am gracious. You're an abomination. You live outside our rules. You're an accident -- a
product of my brother who can't control his bloodlust."

"He's responsible for his own way." William pointed at Zoltan. "He could have come to
us."

"You left me for dead!" Zoltan retorted.

Marcus' brother said nothing.

Marcus placed his hand on William's shoulder, and his eyes narrowed into slits, glaring at
Zoltan. "You killed my son. My heir." "He killed himself."

"I hold you responsible for his death. Where's the witch? His intended? Turn her over to me, and I'll give you a quick death."

"She made her choice. I have no intention of releasing her to you."

"She was hand-picked by myself to marry my son. Since he is no longer living, she'll marry me and give me a new heir."

"Never."

"I will destroy you, wolf." Marcus' voice was cold, hard. He paused. "I will take the witch--"

"You'll do no such thing. Not while I'm here at Volturn Manor." Sophia stepped forward with her hands clenched so tightly, her knuckles turned white. Zoltan admired her courage.

"Shut up!" Marcus took a quick step forward himself, but Sophia didn't flinch. Her face glowered with rage.

"I'm the mistress of this manor, and those inside are under my protection."

Zoltan's heart soared with pride at Sophia's strong stand before the intimidating wolf, but he readied himself to come between them if he had to. He hated the thought of Marcus getting close to her.

Book Blit + #Giveaway: The Dream Protocol: Descent by Adara Flynn Quick @AdaraQuick @XpressoTours

The Dream Protocol: Descent
Adara Flynn Quick
Publication date: May 18th 2016
Genres: Dystopia, Young Adult

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T GET OLD. In fiery young Deirdre Callaghan’s home of Skellig City, no one has dreamt their own dream in over a thousand years. Dreams are produced by the Dream Makers and sold by the Ministry, the tyrannical rulers of the city. In Skellig City, years of life are awarded equally and the ruined are cast away beneath the city on their 35th birthday.
Unbeknownst to the Ministry, Deirdre’s handsome friend Flynn Brennan is afflicted with a terrible disease – a disease that accelerates the aging process. Knowing his fate if the Ministry should ever discover his illness, Flynn has lived his whole life hiding from their watchful eyes. When Flynn’s secret is finally discovered, Deirdre is determined to free him from the Ministry’s grasp. But to save him, she will have to reveal herself to a shadowy enemy…one that none of them even knew existed.

EXCERPT:

Deirdre was falling from a great height. The air was cold and her hair blew up around her like a golden veil. Ice crystals collected in her curls and they turned rigid as she fell. And then she crashed headlong into a body of ice-cold water. The freezing temperature bit into her skin like a thousand pinpricks, and her eyes flew wide open. Above her was the light of the surface, but a powerful current was sucking her down, down, down into the dark. She flailed against the downward pull, kicking with her legs and reaching with her arms. She knew that the single breath of air in her lungs wouldn’t last much longer. At the last moment, just as she felt that she might open her mouth and drink down the dark water, the riptide from below released her. She kicked for the light, but soon the true horror of the ‘Mare became clear. The surface was sealed away with a thick layer of ice and frost. There would be no air for her lungs in this underwater prison. She beat her fists against the ice to no avail; the dark water wouldn’t let go. She was drowning with the surface just out of reach.

She tried to scream a curse at the Minister, but in this ‘Mare there was only silence. No sounds at all. She sucked down the freezing water and choked, over and over. Mercifully, she passed out. In that brief moment of unconsciousness, a hundred images flickered through her mind, each one like a photograph taken with a magnesium flash bulb. Images of Roenin, Flynn, and the red oak tree kept appearing. In the back of her mind her own voice formed a question: how does Roenin know about the Dream Protocol?

On the surface of the frost, something new came into the dream, something that the ‘Mare Makers would never have sequenced. The ice started to hiss and steam. A pattern wrote itself into the ice block; the five-circle symbol of the Makers. It burst into flame, melting the ice and cold all around the Maker’s daughter. Deirdre felt her body rising out of the water. In dream, she came Awake.
