Blog Tour + #Giveaway: Lord and Master by Kait Jagger @KaitJagger @XpressoTours

Lord and Master Trilogy
Kait Jagger
Publication date: March 20th 2017
Genres: Erotica, Romance, Suspense

You think you know Luna Gregory?

Maybe you see what her boss, the Marchioness of Lionsbridge, sees: the best PA she’s ever had, a 26-year-old fixer who makes problems disappear with four quiet words—‘Leave it with me.’ Or you see a remote, untouchable Ice Princess who the 500-year-old Arborage Estate’s heir presumptive longs to crush under his heel. Possibly, if you’re looking carefully, you see Luna as her friends see her: the quiet one, touched by childhood tragedy, who laughs at their jokes and has their backs no matter what.

But ultimately it takes charismatic, devastatingly attractive Swedish entrepreneur Stefan Lundgren, third in line to inherit the estate, to glimpse the intelligent, fiercely independent woman under Luna’s calm exterior. And what he sees he wants, this woman in ten thousand who is meant for him, body writhing beneath his in the dark of night, her inner self slowly revealing itself to him. Or so he believes.

But Luna has built an entire life predicated on concealment, on maintaining control and hiding dark things in drawers. It will take the entirety of the Lord and Master trilogy, from the manicured gardens of Arborage, to the wilds of Shetland, to the streets of Stockholm, for her to step out of the shadows in the face of a new threat to Arborage.

You think you know Luna? You don’t.

The Lord and Master trilogy:
Lord and Master
Her Master’s Servant
The Marchioness

"What is your writing process? For instance do you do an outline first? Do you do the chapters first? "

‘My writing process.’ I am smiling as I type this, because it sounds pretty highfalutin, for a first time author like me. I can’t honestly claim to have a proper modus operandi when it comes to planning out my books. I’m a bit of a daydreamer by nature, and really, my process starts with nothing more than…hmm, focused daydreaming, I guess you’d call it. Thinking about characters, envisioning settings, playing out scenarios in my head; I did a LOT of that before I really got down to writing Lord and Master, the first book in my Lord and Master Trilogy.

I found that I did my most productive thinking either when I was out walking or sitting in the passenger seat of a car on a long trip, so, not gonna lie, I clocked up many miles one way or another over the course of three books! Music helped too, and that shows in the books, which have plentiful references to the Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana and other bands and performers I love. When it came to the sex scenes in the books, I made myself a promise early on that I would include no sexual positions or acts that I hadn’t tried and enjoyed myself, so I had to do a fair bit of…ahem, research along the way. My husband, as you might imagine, is extremely supportive of my fledgling writing career ;-)

Maybe the only hard and fast discipline I put on myself during the actual writing process was that I made sure to write in a linear way, i.e., I started at the beginning of the story and carried on to the end, no skipping ahead or writing the scenes I wanted to write, then filling in the spaces in between. I honestly think if I hadn’t done it that way, I’d never have finished the books—it’s easy to write the bits you want to write, but the real skill lies in how you tie them together.

And I’d like to think that I was very disciplined when it came to the editing process. Self-published authors can’t afford to be precious about their work, so I took advice from my wonderful beta readers, and tried to be tough on myself. And I hired a totally fantastic copy editor, Antony Hitchin, who polished the very rough diamond that was my writing and who, if he ever reads this, will doubtless be finding all kinds of errors and biting his metaphorical tongue!

Book Tour + #Giveaway: Loved By a Killer by C.F. Rabbiosi @SDSXXTours

Loved By A Killer
Loved By A Killer Series Book 1
by C.F. Rabbiosi
Genre: A Sexy Paranormal Thriller

Raina loved performing upon the London stage, but one night she found herself dancing for only HIM. She froze, and looked to the balcony where the gaslights flickered dimly over his shadowy form. If only she had known that this beautiful monster would soon rip her away from everything in the world SHE EVER LOVED, perhaps she wouldn’t have lingered so long.

Marcus loved being a blood thirsty predator, but one night his gallivanting brought him to his knees in front of HER. If only he’d known what would happen when she danced, that she would remind him of someone who was everything in the world HE EVER LOVED, perhaps he would’ve turned away.

As he drags her deeper and deeper into his depraved world of torture and violence, she begins fighting with her own darkness that threatens to consume her every day. And oh, how it begs to be released. And though she knows it’s wrong, she desires her captor anyway.

Until she begins falling for someone else…

Meanwhile, prostitutes are being butchered in the streets and she begins to wonder: Is her dark lover, the one she is bound to, The Ripper?

With an accurate account of the creepy gaslit times of London and real Jack the Ripper crime scenes, Loved By A Killer is an exciting read from start to finish.

Energy crackles in the air around us. He moves my hair to the side and his fingers brush my neck. He whispers in my ear, "I think we were meant to fall in love."

Little shock waves course through me and closing my eyes, I touch my cheek to his lips, willing him to linger there.

Ooh. He makes me feel all… HOT. What is it about this fascinating stranger that has me so taken?

He lowers his lips to my neck and my blood rushes around in every direction on fire. Sharp pressure bears down against my skin and I push into it, excited and afraid.

I'm losing myself…

He's pulling the life out of me…

Please don't stop.

Reviews
"Hot damn! are you serious?" I'm in love. I'm seriously entranced." -Nicole Horn
"As soon as I got to page 3, I was like well, I know what I'm doing the rest of the night. I loved all the real serial killers and horror, mixed with a hot romance." -Holly Byers
"I know I have things to do but this story is so good and I'm riveted. So intense." - E. B. Black
"I absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down." -Sherry Aue
Beautifully written, and the story flows, gripping you from the moment you meet Lord Marcus Loxley in that first chapter. I love the intricate historical aspects of the book, the underlying Jack the Ripper story, and the uniqueness of Ms. Rabbiosi’s vampires. I absolutely enjoyed each second of this book and can’t wait to read more from this author.
-Amazon reviewer D.C. Triana

I feel like I could write a book on this book. I was instantly captivated from the very first chapter and it didn't let me go until the last page. I absolutely loved this story. Lord Marcus Loxley is a very complex character that seemed so "human" (pardon the expression considering he's a vampire), that I felt like I was experiencing everything as he was. This book had so many different facets to it. Historical London. Jack the Ripper as a back story. Crime. Lust. Greed. Poverty. Death. Blood. It was the type of story that you're sad when it's over because you're forced to leave the world you were just completely immersed in. Rabbiosi does a fantastic job with the historical elements and I cannot wait to read more by this very talented author!
-Amazon reviewer J. Saman
This was quite an interesting concept for a book. I was thrilled to find out that the events regarding the historical murders were accurate. The twists and turns of the plot are easy to follow, but not easy to predict. I'm plenty excited for the next book to come out to see what happens next! -Exposure Book Blog

I RACE UPSTAIRS AND TURN THE GASLIGHT ON to its brightest setting and listen to every sound in the house, for anything unusual and for Marcus' return. My mind spins over this turn of events. The mutilated girl in the picture. The monster that takes pleasure in her horrific murder. The kind of monster that stole my mother away in the darkness leaving our lives wrecked. But now I have power: speed, strength, senses that are out of this world, and an affinity for the night. And somewhere, this monster lurks in the night- that I NOW OWN.

I'm going to destroy him. Jack the Ripper, Marcus, whoever he is- he's dead. I don't believe it will cost me what's left of my humanity, but even if my soul disintegrates to pieces, he must be stopped.

"Fascinated…captivated… Throw me to the devil for I am painfully in love with you." Marcus appears in the doorway. His face gleams happily and he throws his hat onto the dresser.

I force a smile. "What have you been up to?"

"Oh, baby, I have my own vampire things to tend to." He extends his hand toward my face and I flinch. "Have you eaten?" My muscles feel weak and my chest burns a little. "No? Let me fix that. Tom!"

"Please don't let me hurt him," I say. He nods. I drink from the young servant's wrist as my mind swims with horrid thoughts. After ten gulps, I force my mouth away and it doesn't hurt as much, being far more interested in Marcus' bloody affairs. I pull up a sleeve to wipe the blood away and Tom lies back on the bed.

"Guess what happened tonight?" Marcus flings messy hair out of his face and plops down on the bed beside me.

"What happened?"

"There was another murder on the East side."

My breath catches. "And?" I flutter my eyelids up at my beaming vampire. "How do you know that?"

"While I was… out, the town was a-buzz with the sad murmurings of a new victim."

"You seem so torn up."

"Of course not. But she was."

Tom's hand lands on my leg. "Can I be yours? Like, your personal blood boy?"

Marcus scoffs. "She's likely to kill you, chap."

"Go ahead Marcus, tell me what happened," I say, unable to keep my voice steady.

"They say it was a bangtail called Dark Annie. The doctor had to scoop her intestines and organs out of the dirt and put them back into her stomach."

"I see." My mind unveils all the mutilated women in the artwork I just discovered in Marcus' study. What a painting this new murder would make. "He's not going to stop, is he?" I stare pointedly into those dark pools of hypnotizing evil.

"Doubtful." He cocks his head to the side and grins.

Well, hell.

Excerpt:

“Nettie O’Connelly,” Jack began, “was the mother o’ nine children and a widow to boot. She lived in west Belfast within a stone’s throw o’ The Falls Road and within full view o’ the Divis Tower. It would have been the early 1970’s, so it would.” Jack shook his head. “There was violence every blasted day and night. The Catholics lived on one side o’ the road—divided by the Protestants by what is now known as the Peace Wall.”

He fell silent for a moment as he collected his thoughts. “Divis Tower was manned by British soldiers. Not much was done about violence against the Catholics—” he snorted for effect “—but violence against the Protestants, even in retribution or defense, was dealt a heavy hand. A heavy hand indeed.

“So it didn’t go unnoticed when one o’ the British soldiers stood at Divis Tower and looked down at Nettie’s home. Not once, mind ya; not twice. Every blasted day. She spent time each day washin’ and hangin’ her clothes in the yard—nine children can dirty a lot. She was still attractive, children or no; hair the color of a sunset and eyes snappin’ green. Petite thing she was.”

A gust of wind howled through the night, sounding like a woman’s protracted moan. Ciara began to paw the ground and Dougal snorted.

“We began to suspect a spy in our midst. Oh, it was a bad time, to be sure. Neighbors watchin’ neighbors. No trust, even for brothers. The slightest thing could set off the neighborhood like a powder keg just waitin’ to blow. There were brawls a’plenty. Boys gone missing overnight. Anyone suspected of cavortin’ with the Brits was dealt with severely.”

He rose and stepped to Ciara, stroking her mane in a gentle effort to calm her. “Then the ladies along the block began to notice a correlation between the colors o’ the clothes Nettie washed and hung and what happened afterward… When she washed her whites, she always seemed to leave her home at a particular time and always went a round-about ways. No one knew where she went. It wasn’t to the neighborhood butcher or grocer or any of the usual places a woman would go. Then one day she was spotted in the center of Belfast—an area declared to be accessible to both Catholics and Protestants, unionists and loyalists, which was laughable indeed.”

“So Nettie O’Connelly was a spy?” Alexei asked.

“We’ll never know, boy. That very night she was hauled from her home, right in front of her nine children. And never seen again.” Just as they thought the story was over, he continued. “My brothers were there. They told me about it afterward, I think as a warnin’ to keep my own mouth shut and my head down. They drove Nettie O’Connelly to the very spot where we were to meet the plane. Three carloads o’ men, at the least, and Nettie beggin’ for her life and for her children’s safety. A woman could scream till her throat grew bloody and not a soul would hear her out at the old lighthouse. And so it went on for hour after hour.”

Jack looked at the skies. “It would have been just about this time o’ year, I’d wager. The skies grew black around four or five o’clock and the sun wouldn’t make its appearance until nigh on ten o’clock the next morn. Long nights, they were. They said that Nettie was tortured until the witching hour approached, but she never confessed, never admitted to giving any one of us up. Not even when her children’s lives were threatened. She always maintained her innocence.” His voice grew quiet and then stopped.

After a long moment, Alexei asked, “What became of her?”

“They thought she was dead. Her body was laid out on a flat rock whilst the men debated what to do with her. Some wanted her buried, others brought out to sea. It wasn’t a night like this one, you see. There were no Northern Lights that night. No stars, not even a moon. Just a thick fog that rolled in from the sea, uncanny it was. It was so murky that the men carried a lantern from the cars to the water’s edge; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to find their way. My brothers said they set the lantern beside Nettie’s body while they huddled just a few feet away. They realized everythin’ had gone black around them and when they looked back, she and the lantern were gone.”

Jack inspected Ciara’s bridle for a moment before continuing. “It was easy to see which direction she’d gone; the lantern was bobbin’ along one o’ the paths, around the brambles and the rocks and along the ridgeline. They followed it for a bit, shoutin’ as those men did—” he nodded his head toward the east “—and then the lantern was snuffed out.”

He wiped his nose. “They continued searchin’ for her but it was too dark. Black as pitch, it was. They left sentinels along the main roads to Belfast and left others in charge o’ watchin’ her home and her children. It wasn’t until summer that they found her at the base o’ a cliff, her neck broken. It’s said they brought her body—ravaged by time and the elements—into the ocean some three hours out and dropped her overboard.”

Alexei joined the two men. “And that was the end of the story?”

“Oh, no,” Jack chuckled but his eyes held no mirth. “That was only the beginning. For it’s said that Nettie O’Connelly still haunts these parts after all these years, carryin’ her lantern at the witchin’ hour, lurin’ men to their deaths.”

Guest Post:

If I could return to one period in time, I think it would be fascinating to be alive at the technological height of the city of Atlantis. Scientists and archeologists are discovering that civilization is much, much older than we previously thought and there is evidence that prior to the Great Flood (which is chronicled in every major religion) civilization was far more advanced than it is even today. When Atlantis was at its height, the pyramids in Egypt as well as Central and South America were being built; Easter Island was erecting its statues and Stonehenge was only a minor circle a short distance from a much larger one that today is mostly underground. Giants lived throughout the world, including the American Southwest.

A growing group of scientists and archeologists are concluding that something dramatic occurred to bring on the Great Flood—perhaps a massive meteor strike or the Earth tilting on its axis—that flooded some areas and subsequently raised land in others. With the use of new technology we are now discovering that a lot more lies underground than we ever previously envisioned—including more pyramids and even entire cities buried under the soil or in our oceans. While I would not want to experience the destruction—the rising of the waters, the sinking of land, the volcano eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis that would have been the result of a catastrophic event—I believe it would be fascinating to discover what this world was like before the Great Flood.

GENRE:  Cozy Mystery

BLURB:

Sydney McCall left behind an ex-fiancé and a New York advertising job to return home to Deer Park, North Carolina and help her sister, Kat, run the local animal shelter, Friendly Paws. Determined to save the shelter from financial trouble, Sydney and Kat organize a cat café fundraising event at a local coffee shop. Things are looking up until their landlord, Trowbridge Littleton, threatens to shut down the event. When Sydney drops by his art gallery to make peace, she finds Kat--along with Littleton's dead body.

Local homicide detective Will Worthington--who just happens to be Sydney's old high school crush--is highly suspicious of the sisters' involvement. Desperate to clear their names from the suspect list, Sydney pounces on the investigation. With the help of one of the shelter cats, a savvy orange tabby named Toby, Sydney begins poking her nose into other local businesses whose owners may have benefited from Littleton's death--until the killer notices she's pawing a little too closely at the truth.

Excerpt:

Will glanced up.  “Pretty observant of you, Syd. The ME will determine the cause of death.”  He tapped on his notebook with the edge of his pen.   “Why don’t you walk me through what happened.  How did the two of you come to be in Littleton’s shop so early?”

“We had something we wanted to discuss with Mr. Littleton, and we thought the earlier the better,” I said.

“I see.  And just what was the nature of this discussion?”

I shifted my weight to my other foot. “Friendly Paws has teamed with Dayna’s Treats & Sweets for a cat café event to benefit the shelter. For a nominal fee, people can have their coffee and goodies in a room with shelter cats that are available for adoption.”

Will glanced up, and I could see a light of interest in his eyes. “I’ve heard of those cafes. They’re mostly in Europe.”

“There are a few in the States, big cities mostly.  This will be the first event of it’s kind  in North Carolina. We’re hoping to increase revenue for both the café and the shelter.”

“Let me guess. That idea didn’t sit well with Littleton?”

Kat and I both shook our heads in unison and Kat exclaimed, “I should say not! He was in the shop yesterday, and he made his feelings pretty darn clear.  He thought having the cats around would be detrimental to business. Heck, he thinks-thought-the shelter in general was a detriment to the town.”

“A sentiment you two didn’t agree with,” he said slowly.

“I should say not!” Kat returned, her cheeks starting to flame.  “Syd and I tried to reason with him yesterday but he dind’t want to hear it.”

“And that’s why you decided to come here this morning?”

I nodded. “Yes.  I put together a pretty good argument of pros for the event.  I was hoping to appeal to his sense of business acumen.”

“Why did you feel this was necessary? Had he threatened you?”

“Not in so many words,” I said carefully. “But he did say yesterday that he was determined to put a stop to the proceedings, and we hadn’t heard the last from him.”

“Um-hm.” Will murmured, scribbling some more.

“And Leila Addams – do you remember her, Will?  She’s a reporter for the Deer Park Herald now,” Kat chimed in.  “Leila said that she thought Littleton was inquiring about starting a petition against showing the shelter cats – and the shelter in general.”

Will made another notation in his book. “So when was the last time you saw Littleton?”

“Yesterday around one-thirty.” I cleared my throat.  “If that’s all the questions you have, we need to get going.”

He snapped his notebook shut.  “You’re free to go for now,” he said, “but I will probably need to talk to you some more later on.”

“That’s fine,” I said.  “We’ll be here.”

The corners of Will’s lips twitched slightly. “Good to know.”

Once we were back out on the street, Kat hauled off and punched  me in the arm – hard.

“Yow!” I cried. “What was that for?”

“For thinking that you could come here and face Littleton without me, for one,” Kat said.  “I knew you had your fingers crossed last night.”

I rubbed at my arm. “Can’t put anything over on you, can I?”

She gave me a shrewd look.  “So, how did it feel, seeing Will Worthington again after all these years!  I heard he was back in town, but I had no idea he’d become a detective – homicide, no less.”  She cut me a sidelong glance. “Funny, isn’t it, how you two came back to Deer Park almost at the same time.  Like Karma, or something.”

“Well, I’d rather deal with Will than his partner, Colombo Junior,” I said. “Come on, let’s get my car and get to the shelter. I hope Maggie isn’t too worried.”

We walked through the alleyway and when we were almost at  the spot where I’d parked, I suddenly stopped short.  “Hey,” Kat cried as she ran full tilt into my back. “What’s wrong?”

I pointed to the empty space beside my car. “There was a white Lincoln there when I came, parked pretty badly.  The license plate read TLITTLE.  I thought for sure it was Littleton’s car, but if it’s gone…”

“A white Lincoln?  That’s his wife Petra’s car,” Kat said.  She glanced around, then pointed to the gym. “She must have parked it here instead of the gym parking lot, like she usually does. I wonder why.”

Another disturbing thought occurred to me as I slid behind the wheel.  It would have been impossible for Littleton’s wife not to have seen the ambulance and police cars parked in front of her husband’s shop.  Why hadn’t she come to see what was wrong?

Unless, of course…she didn’t have to. Because she already knew.

Film student Ella Summers can’t believe her luck when she is selected to work on the set of the most anticipated film release of the year—STARSHINE. For the next four weeks, she’ll be in the studio with heart-throb and leading man Alex Denton, and his co-star—and recent ex—the stunning Amy Strickland.

But her first day on set has her questioning the true character of the enigmatic and sexy Alex. The charming celebrity she’s adored on screen disappears before her very eyes—if indeed he ever really existed.

Off-camera arguments between Alex and Amy become difficult to ignore, and when Ella uncovers layers of deceit and closely guarded secrets between them, she becomes involved in a battle that has far-reaching implications.

With the paparazzi hounding her every move for the most sensational story they can get, Ella becomes deeply embroiled in Alex’s life. Can she break down his seemingly impenetrable walls, or will he remain the arrogant ass she first met?

STARSHINE is set in London, England. Beware though—Alex Denton has a crude mouth, and an equally wicked smile.

Author Bio:
Growing up, Melody showed a natural ability in art, a head for maths, and a tendency to write too long English essays. Difficult to place in the world when she graduated, she pursued a career in teaching, but ended up working in finance. Melody is convinced the methodical times she spends working with numbers fuel her desire to drift into dream worlds and write about the illusory characters in her head.

Melody Winter lives in York, North Yorkshire, England with her husband and two sons. When not dealing with football, rugby, and a whole plethora of 'boy' activities, she will be found scribbling notes for her stories, or preparing for another trip to the nearby beaches at Scarborough and Whitby. With an obsession for anything mythical, Melody revels in reading and writing about such creatures.
