Book Tour + #Giveaway: Unholy Cross by Beth D. Carter @RABTBookTours

Deadly & Ruthless, Book 1

Dark Romance

Date Published: May 7, 2025

Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Aera Cross is a man forged by hardship. His childhood, marred by pain and abuse, has left him with scars that run deeper than the skin. Survival has been his only mantra, that he’s learned to navigate with a hardened heart. But when a desperate father approaches him with a plea to rescue his ‘daughter’ from the clutches of a sadistic doctor, Cross finds himself at a crossroads.

The photo of Lorelei, a girl with an ethereal beauty, ignites something within him—a flicker of hope amidst the darkness. Lorelei possesses a gift that is both a blessing and a curse: she can heal with a touch. But this extraordinary ability has made her a target, sold to the highest bidder and forced to perform for those who seek to exploit her powers. Each transaction chips away at her soul, leaving her a mere shadow of the girl she once was.

On the night of her daring escape, Lorelei stumbles into Cross’s world. Though she is wary of this rugged stranger, she has no choice but to trust him. Together, they embark on a perilous journey, where danger lurks at every corner and the lines between savior and sinner blur.

Thriller Romance

Date Published: 06-05-2025

Publisher: Talk+Tell

Jack Glasser has a gift… and a curse. After a childhood lightning strike and years of self-experimentation, he’s turned his brain into a living processor capable of absorbing massive data in minutes. But each Neural Acceleration session chips away at his body—and his grip on reality.

When a top-secret cannabis company in Canada draws his attention, Jack uncovers something that puts him on the radar of a ruthless criminal syndicate known as the Organization. As his mind unravels, assassins close in, and his unpredictable brother Luke pushes for a much-needed escape, Jack is pulled into a deadly game he never agreed to play.

Perfect for fans of Scorpion, Utopia, and The Terminal List, Canadian Smoke is a smart, darkly funny, high-octane techno-thriller that explores what happens when genius meets corruption—and the cost of knowing too much.

A buried secret. A criminal empire. A genius on the edge.

Whatever Jack saw… someone will do anything to keep it hidden.

About the Author

P.D. Hillman writes darkly funny thrillers about genius minds, broken systems, and the occasional psychic meltdown. He once tried to sell machine-learning sensors to weed farmers—who stored them in paint buckets. When he’s not writing, he’s mentoring his grown sons, recording blues in his garage, or sitting on a beach with a sand-filled truck and a strong opinion about data, death, and denim.

Book Blitz + #Giveaway: The Cardinal Code by Avery Sterling @AverySterling17 @XpressoTours

The Cardinal Code
Avery Sterling
Publication date: August 4th 2025
Genres: New Adult, Paranormal, Romance

Vampires are real. Powerful, organized, and nearly untouchable, they move through society under the governance of the Cardinalis Order—an ancient system built to protect their kind and punish those who defy its laws.

Michael Chamberlain is one of them. A successful entrepreneur with a carefully buried past, he returns to The Hamptons to take over his father’s elite nightclub—and to secure a contracted blood source. Cold, controlled, and emotionally detached, Michael has long accepted the rules of his world. That is, until he meets Paislee Sullivan.

A determined college student working to fund her future, Paislee doesn’t know the truth about the Order—or that her presence at the nightclub is more dangerous than she realizes. When her path collides with Michael’s, she’s pulled into the shadows of a world built on power, secrecy, and blood.

As their attraction deepens, Paislee must navigate a society where consent is contractual, love is forbidden, and ignorance offers the only safety. But some connections can’t be denied—and breaking the rules could mean losing everything.

The Cardinal Code is a seductive and high-stakes romance set in a world where the elite don’t just run society—they feed on it.

EXCERPT:

As they pulled into her uncle’s driveway, the house was shrouded in darkness.

Michael killed the engine and was out of the car in an instant. She fumbled for her keys and was surprised when he opened her door.

“Thanks,” she murmured, taking his outstretched hand as she stepped onto the driveway.

“How’s your ankle?”

She tested it. “Actually, it’s not that bad. Thanks for the ride.”

“Let me walk you in,” he offered.

Her heart thudded in her chest. “That’s…really not necessary.”

His lips quirked. “You have to let me finish redeeming myself, Paislee.”

With a dramatic sigh, she dangled her keys in front of him. “Very well, Sir Knightly. Here.”

Michael unlocked the front door, and they stepped into the house. His gaze swept over the modest furnishings as she turned on the lights.

“How long have you been working at Allusion?” he asked, pausing in the living room.

“A couple of weeks.” She slid her bag off her shoulder and set it on a nearby chair. “I came here for school. Allusion helps pay the bills.”

He stepped further into the room.

She busied herself with slipping off her sneakers, but the silence stretched long enough that she turned around.

He was inches away, his eyes dark and unreadable.

Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly changed the subject. “So, am I safe? No danger lurking in the shadows of my house?”

Michael reached for the strap on her skirt, and his fingers traced it slowly before he hooked it and tugged her forward.

“Why do you look so frightened?” he murmured, his brow furrowing.

“I’m not frightened,” she shot back, though her trembling hands betrayed her.

He arched a brow. “You’re shaking.”

Her cheeks burned. “Because I know you’re going to kiss me,” she admitted.

His lips curved into a slow, wicked smile. “Last night, you didn’t seem so afraid of me.”

Her resolve ebbed as his face inched closer. “That was impulsive,” she whispered. “Now I’m just…questioning what I’ve gotten myself into.”

He laughed softly, and the sound was rich and unguarded. “You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into, ducizza,” he breathed.

Author Bio:

Avery Sterling's love for the romance genre began in her teen years when she picked up her first novel. She was captivated by the sweeping scale of emotions brought about by the words. The experience catapulted her towards learning the art of wielding a breathtaking adventure, with a love that felt authentic. Wanting to inspire people with her own thoughts and words, she finished her first novel at sixteen. It was a step towards understanding the essence of what she wished to create.

Most of her youth was spent traveling, searching out the romance and beauty in her everchanging world. From the waves that crashed against the rocky shores of Downeast, Maine, to the warm breezes of the Caribbean, she discovered that love was universal, apparent in its grandest and simplest of forms. Her goal is to write novels an audience can relate to, one that conveys the truth and nature of love… with all that steamy romance.

PROLOGUE:

So this is how it ends—with me standing over a corpse. Dirt wedged beneath my nails, blood caked onto my palms. Body fraught with tension. Heart thudding uncontrollably. Hands trembling, limbs stiff like the lifeless ones beneath me.

The sky shifts above as I bristle from the cold. From the shock, the truth, the knowing. I freeze for a moment—paralyzed by each drop of fear multiplying inside my gut. Succumbing to paranoia. What happens now?

Hypotheticals run through my psyche’s labyrinth, possibilities lost in the fray. My head clouds before instinct finally takes over. Movement beats inertia. I have to go. I need to get the hell out of this place.

Adrenaline courses through me as I snap into action. Bury the evidence, burn the remains. Get rid of the body. The body.

I screw my gaze shut, recalling everything that happened just moments before. I still see the light fading from both eyes…the life bleeding out in slow motion. I remember it like a film, the footage rolling across a screen at the forefront of my brain. I can’t stop it.

I feel a tightness in my chest. Is it sadness, regret, or something else altogether? Perhaps it’s just the disbelief catching up to me. The swell of emotions continues circulating in my veins. Sensations mount, threatening to burst right through my flesh.

My breath is ragged as I unfurl my fingers—still balled into a fist—and cast my stare downwards. Only one of us will make it out alive. I realize that now. Only one of us can survive.

Just then, there is a foreign sound behind me. I whip around to identify the source. Nothing. My vision blurs slightly, making me doubt everything I see. But it was more than a crunch of leaves. I am sure of it. Bile rises to the back of my throat as I take another look. I have the strange sense that something—or someone—is watching me.

Night will arrive soon, cloaking these surroundings in a blanket of blackness. The air has a tangible charge that tells me it is about to storm. Birds loom overhead—lurking like giant gray omens. In this moment, I am both predator and prey. The wind snaps violently against my body as I step further into the woods. It is time to leave.

I work quickly, erasing any and all signs of my presence. What will the police think? Will they believe me? As I go, my mind begins to spin a tale. A convincing story that explains everything, with no detail left unaccounted for.

When I am finished, there are no more traces in sight. Not a single inkling or clue left behind. It’s almost like I have disappeared entirely—from place, from memory. Like I was never even here at all.

Review Tour + #Giveaway: Fanning Fireflies by LS Delorme @LexyShawDelorme @GoddessFish

FANNING FIREFLIES

LS Delorme

GENRE: Historical Paranormal Romance

BLURB:

There is something rotting in Harrisville.

It's 1944 and Veronica works so she can afford to eat. Maybe one day she will save enough to own the home her family is living in, but for now, she doesn't have time for fanciful thoughts, or much else. She doesn't have time for the fire whispering to her, the ghosts trying to talk to her and the son of her boss, who can't stop staring at her. She definitely doesn't have time to think about Lazlo, the handsome black soldier that she processed at the draft office, but she can't seem to stop herself. As her ability to ignore Lazlo evaporates, so does her self-imposed ignorance about her hometown.

There is, and always has been, something rotten in Harrisville. It shouldn't have been a surprise. After all. Veronica works in the cigarette factory. where corpses hide in the tobacco with the roaches.

 Excerpt:

Veronica heard a rustling in the tobacco leaves nearby. A small, sickly raccoon tumbled out. Its fur was matted with dust, and it looked half-starved. It tried to run, but its back legs wouldn’t cooperate with the front, and the creature collapsed onto its side.

Veronica began to back away, keeping her broom pointed at it. For a moment the raccoon lay still, then it rolled over and struggled to push itself upright with its front paws.

She spoke to it softly, hoping to calm it—but at the sound of her voice, the raccoon bared its teeth and lurched toward her, scrabbling with its front paws while its limp back legs dragged behind.

She had almost reached the end of the aisle when a dark shape flickered beside the raccoon—a vaguely human shadow reaching for her. She jumped back before it could touch her. The spectre plunged into the raccoon. For an instant, shadow and animal merged—then the phantom vanished. The raccoon twitched, then its milky eyes fixed on her. In the next moment it was scuttling toward her, suddenly sure-footed and fast.

Veronica turned and ran toward the exit. She could hear scrabbling behind her, growing louder. She rounded a corner and saw the door ahead—but she couldn’t let the beast escape into the factory. Instead, she dove down another aisle and crouched low.

The raccoon skittered around the corner a heartbeat later. Veronica swung her broom and knocked its legs out from under it. The creature flew forward and slammed into a wooden post, sending a cascade of dry tobacco leaves crashing down onto it. Veronica bolted for the door and heaved it shut. A moment later something thudded into the other side of the door—again and again.

My Review:

LS Delorme's Fanning Fireflies is the third installment in The Limerent Series and the fourth book I have read in the series. Although the first book, Caio, and the third book, Fanning Fireflies, can be read independently, it is strongly advised that you read the second and fourth books together because the second book, Bright Midnight, is a prequel to the fourth book, Ghosting Academy.

I was immediately drawn into Fanning Fireflies from the first page, or I could say from the first book, Bright Midnight, which I’ve read in The Limerent Series. I have enjoyed every story in this series and look forward to reading more. Each story is filled with intricate details that captivate the reader.

Fanning Fireflies is a captivating story that pulls you in and smoothly takes you into the past. It’s a beautiful love story between two wonderful individuals who fall hard and fast for each other, ignoring what society might say or do.

Set in 1944, Fanning Fireflies tells of the love blossoming between Veronica and Lazlo, the handsome Black soldier she processed at the draft office. Veronica knew that if anyone caught her with Lazlo, he would be beaten, but she couldn’t help how she felt.

If you like historical paranormal romance, you should definitely get a copy of Fanning Fireflies today. Better yet, get all four books at the same time!

Jazz glanced up at the clock. Almost seven. Her heart fluttered a bit. It was about time for—
The bell rang over the door, and her breath caught as a thrill buzzed through her stomach.
Wolf came in every morning, and from what she’d figured out, he usually came directly from his job. He didn’t work at the steel mill, but his cut showed his membership in a local motorcycle club, the Iron City Knights. They had some sort of machine shop down the street right next to the strip club they owned. Jazz had never been inside either place. Reason one? The only bike she owned operated by two pedals and a chain. Reason two? She was not a stripper, and her body didn’t have the assets to be one.
The neighborhood was rough by some standards, but the coffee shop, the Comers’ house, and surrounding businesses had the protection of the biker gang.
Correction: biker club.
Jazz set up the espresso machine for double shots as she heard the velvety tones of Wolf’s voice. “Morning, Madge. Bill up yet?”
“Nah. Too early. I gotta go get him in about an hour. It’s too slippy for him right now.”
The hiss of the steamer drowned out anything else Madge and Wolf said. Jazz took a breath as she made the latte in a paper go-cup. Wolf never stayed unless Bill was there. Then the two men would sit at one of the square tables, sometimes getting into a chess game and conversing. On Bill’s bad days, Wolf would simply sit in silent company with the old man.
He never paid any attention to Jazz other than a random “Thanks” when she handed him his morning cup of joe. In fact, he seldom noticed her at all. She bit her lip as she wiped off the stainless-steel nozzle. I bet he doesn’t even know my name.
She finished the latte and popped a lid on top before handing it to him. His fingers brushed hers as he accepted it, and the contact sent another jolting zap through her body, already mega-aware of his presence.
Gah, Jazz, quit doing the schoolgirl thing. You’re a friggin’ grown-ass woman. Act like it!
She managed to smile at his disembodied “Thanks” and moved back to the machine to start the next order.
“Hey.”
It was a single word, but it came out as an attention-grabbing command. Her heart flipped over and started doing burpees in her chest. She swallowed the sudden rush of saliva in her mouth and turned with a bright smile. Don’t show him you’re nervous, don’t show him you’re nervous, don’t show him you’re… “Yes?”
“Wrap up a couple Danishes for me, yeah? Raspberry.”
Her brain short-circuited. Sure thing. No problem. “No thing.” Holy frig! “I mean, sure problem.”
She felt her face flame as she bent low behind the counter to hide while she wrapped two of the biggest pastries in waxed paper.
“Bill’s callin’ me to get ’im now.” Madge slid her cell phone closed. “Can’t stand not to be in the middle of things. Mind helpin’ me?”
Wolf grabbed the paper bag Jazz set on the glass display case without looking in her direction. “I’ll walk over with you.”
Jazz breathed easier after they left. She made herself a latte in one of the big white china mugs and swirled an elaborate leaf pattern in the top. Wolf’s effect on her dissipated, and her self-castigation started.
Why do you have to be such a dummy dork around him? Stop this moony crap and be an adult.
Ugh. Perhaps someday she’d get over her crush on the man and move on.

I've had stories in my head since I was a child.  All sorts of stories of fantasy, romance, mystery and anything else that captured my interest. I'm a voracious reader, and have spent many hours in my life devouring books, therefore it's only fitting I should write a few myself!

I've spent most of my life as a performing musician and band instrument repair technician, but that doesn't mean I'm pigeon-holed into one mold. I've been a university professor, belly dancer, craftsperson, soap maker, singer, rock band artist, jewelry maker, lifeguard, swim coach, and whatever else I feel like exploring.  As one of my students said to me once, "Life's too short to ignore the opportunities." I have no intention of ever stopping so welcome to my story world.  I hope you enjoy it!

Teaser: Mom Take Center Stage by Satya Nauth @RABTBookTours

Self-Help / Non-Fiction

Date Published: 08-26-2025

You’ve poured yourself into motherhood. Now it’s time to pour a little back into you.

If you’ve ever felt like parts of you went quiet in the background — your voice, your creativity, your dreams — Mom Take Center Stage is your invitation to rise.

This empowering guide invites you to stop shrinking and start shining.

With raw honesty and hard-won wisdom, Satya V. Nauth helps you reclaim your power, purpose, and presence — unapologetically.

You’ll learn how to:

Break cycles of self-abandonment and burnout

Release perfectionism and reconnect with your wholeness

Embrace your identity beyond the roles you carry

Live boldly, confidently, and without apology

Step into the spotlight of your own life — fully alive

This isn’t a book about balance.

It’s a book about becoming whole again.

Because the world doesn’t need a perfect mom.

It needs you — rooted, radiant, and real.

Introduction

For many years, I poured out my heart and soul in the name of motherhood. In the process, I lost myself. After having kids, I faced a series of challenges that seemed insurmountable. Those very challenges became the reasons for overcoming obstacles and confidently becoming my authentic self . . . the real me. My life used to revolve entirely around my children. They were the center of my universe. I was buried under the chaos that was unravelling right before my eyes. While I loved being a mother, somewhere along the way, I lost sight of who I was.

My days were consumed by endless tasks: work, school drop-offs and pickups, doctor visits, maintaining the household, and juggling countless after-school activities. But I knew motherhood was an investment. It was a bittersweet time though. While I loved raising my kids, I didn’t love that I was paying a hefty price through my selflessness. I thought that pursuing my dreams and goals meant giving up on my children, which felt like a betrayal of motherhood. Then it hit me: One day my children will grow up, and I’ll have to face myself again. Who will I be then? Since children grow up and become adults, I realized I needed to reclaim my individuality. Buried in all those years of dedication, I began to see things more clearly: I needed to muster up the courage to find myself, to become multidimensional, to take center stage.

We are all called to discover our higher purpose. Going through a myriad of emotions, it’s easy to play the blame game. Blame the world, blame our health, blame our past, blame current situations, and blame the decisions that have led to this moment. With all that said, I have to ask you: Mom, isn’t it time you took center stage?

This book is taken from the lessons I have learned through trial and error. It is a daring guide of self-acceptance, personal development, and remarkable success after having children. I’m here as a woman, like you, who has gone through some beautifully chaotic and humbling experiences after having kids. Some difficult growth experiences that have led to establishing my full identity and, at the same time, becoming a better parent. Not as an appendage to my children or spouse but as a confident, bold woman who knows and understands my worth because I have rediscovered myself.

Gals, it’s pretty easy to close this book and move on to the next thing that calls to us. And with the endless distractions out there, you could head to Facebook, Instagram or TikTok and go down that rabbit hole. Or you could go back to washing that mountain of laundry. This is my call to you: When will you do the things that will allow you to stand on your own feet? When will you be daringly bold? When is the right time for you? I’ll tell you: That time is now. It’s today. It is in this moment. This is your chance to finally become who you were meant to be.

Life is unpredictable, so what I’m asking of you isn’t a cutesy idea. It is a life skill that we as women and as mothers need to impart not only to ourselves, but also to our children. Be prepared before the necessity becomes desperation. Be an example to your kids. Show them that this valiant woman is also in charge of her life, her autonomy, her decisions. She isn’t afraid to dream, set goals, and go forth.

This guide is intended not only for the two of us. It is also meant for every woman who needs to hear that she is enough, that there is hope to learn, to grow, and to achieve everything her heart calls to irrespective of age, status, skin color, religion, or any difference that makes you one in a million. Anything that makes you stand out is your superpower! Let’s embark on this journey together. I can’t wait to see the woman you’ll rediscover—the bold, confident, and unstoppable YOU.
