Destiny has called.

With Jaevid Broadfeather forever lost to the depths of Luntharda, Felix Farrow struggles to stand on his own. He begins a violent downward spiral which causes him to abandon his post as a dragonrider, hiding in the halls of his family estate. His one hope for redemption lies within the heart of someone from his past—and the very last person he ever wanted to see again.

And now the time has finally come.

Hovrid, who has ruled Maldobar as a tyrannical imposter, is preparing to make a decisive assault against Luntharda that will destroy what remains of the elven race. Only Jaevid, Felix, and their trusted friends are able to stand in his way. They have only one chance to end the war, and only one hope to absolve the curse that threatens to destroy their world. The stage is set. The plan is in motion.

What began as one boy’s adventure will now end in blood.

OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES:

When Jaevid Broadfeather is given the rare opportunity to become a dragonrider for the king’s army, the 15-year-old boy has no idea that he is part of a conspiracy that will rock the very foundations of the kingdom.

Jaevid Broadfeather has grown up as a wartime refugee, hiding from the world because of his mixed racial heritage. He feels his future is hopeless, until a chance encounter with a wild dragon lands him in Blybrig Academy—a place usually forbidden to anyone but the rich and royal. But Jaevid’s case is special; no dragon has voluntarily chosen a rider in decades, so the proud riders of Blybrig must begrudgingly let him join their brotherhood despite his bloodline. Lieutenant Sile Derrick, a sternly tempered man with a mysterious past, becomes his instructor and immediately takes a peculiar interest in Jaevid’s future.

While struggling through the rigorous physical demands of training, things begin to go awry. Jaevid witnesses the king’s private guards kidnapping Sile in the dead of night. When none of the elder riders are willing to help him, Jaevid begins a dangerous adventure to save his instructor.

Everything Jaevid learned at the academy will now be put to the ultimate test.

Jaevid wants to pass his Avian year of training . . . but will he even survive it?

What kind of power is lurking inside him? After a year of training to become a dragonrider, Jaevid Broadfeather has been sent home to rest during a three-month interlude. But when he returns to find the king drake has chosen Beckah Derrick as his new rider, Jaevid realizes something big is about to happen. Every fiber of his being is pushed to the breaking point as Jaevid battles through his avian year, preparing for the final graduation test of the battle scenario. But there is more standing in his way than a few pushups and fancy sword moves. Jaevid must face a new fear as he is tormented by a gruesome nightmare of a mysterious gray elf warrior murdering the royal family of Maldobar. It seems obvious to him that this is some kind of message about how the war started long ago—until Felix assures him the king is very much alive. With his strange powers growing stronger by the day, and that violent dream replaying in his mind every night, Jaevid no longer wonders if he will pass his avian year or not—he wonders if he will even survive it.

The truth will soon be set loose.

Can anyone survive being lost in Luntharda?

No amount of training has prepared Jaevid Broadfeather for the frontlines of battle. Now facing the true horrors of war, with Luntharda looming on the horizon, Jaevid has begun to question everything he thought about his heritage. The only thing keeping him going is his oath to protect his dragonrider brothers. But in an instant, even that slips through Jaevid’s fingers as he steps from the safety of his dragon’s saddle into the depths of his mother’s wild homeland—the kingdom of the gray elves.

Stranded in Luntharda with his partner, Lieutenant Jace Rordin, Jaevid must finally confront the demons of his own past as he uncovers the truth about a war that began before he was ever born. Armed with a new appreciation for destiny, and flanked by his trusted friends, Jaevid moves to make the final strike against an enemy that has hidden in plain sight for far too long.

One kingdom’s traitor will become the world’s last hope.

Guest Post:

Is there an author past or present that may have inspired you to write? If yes please tell us who this author is and how they may have inspired you?

I was an avid reader as a child, so there were lots of authors who influenced and inspired me to begin writing my own stories. Two stand out in my mind above the others, however. The first would be J. R. R. Tolkien, whose books I fell in love with as a young child. My mother, God bless her, read them to me even though fantasy wasn’t really her thing at the time. But Tolkien’s world where elves were not impish, nasty creatures but beings of beauty, power, and light was very appealing to me. He had it all. Heroes. Dragons. Knights. Magic. Everything my young mind craved in an adventure. The second author who inspired me was Bruce Coville, who wrote my favorite childhood book of all time: JEREMY THATCHER DRAGON HATCHER. Yes, I liked dragons a lot. I read this book over and over. I actually checked it out of the local library so many times my mother finally bought a copy of my own—which I still have!

Nicole is the author of the children’s fantasy series, THE DRAGONRIDER CHRONICLES, about a young boy’s journey into manhood as he trains to become a dragonrider. She has completed the first two books in the series, and is now working on the third and final book.

Originally from a small town in North Alabama, Nicole moves frequently due to her husband’s career as a pilot for the United States Air Force. She received a B.A. in English with a concentration in Classics from Auburn University, and will soon attend graduate school.

She has previously worked as a freelance and graphic artist for promotional companies, but has now embraced writing as a full-time occupation.

Nicole enjoys hiking, camping, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves watching children’s movies and collecting books. She lives at home with her husband, two cats, and dog.

Sacrificing your life for your child is one of the greatest ways a mother can show her love.

At ten weeks pregnant, Cara was diagnosed with a fast-acting cancer and was faced with the ultimate decision…
That decision, was to forgo life-saving treatment to ensure her child would come into this world unharmed.
Cara shares with us the last months of her life as she prepared to give birth to her child and for her husband, Joel, to parent without her.
But a husband can only handle so much before he breaks…

Growing up on an old dirt road in the middle of nowhere, as a child Candis used her love for books as a way to escape reality (and her brother constantly trying to kill her--literally). EXCERPT:

I’d just closed the door to the dishwasher and was still bent over when I felt a warm, hard body press against my backside. I stood up as strong arms slipped around my waist and pulled me tight back against a well-muscled chest and stomach. My belly started doing little flip-flops as the man behind me nudged my hair out of his way and buried his face in my neck. I closed my eyes, leaning into him and enjoying the close quiet this moment held.
“I love you,” he murmured into my neck.
I smiled at the words. I never got tired of hearing him say it. I turned around and looped my arms around his neck, answering his smile with my own. My fingers played with the hair at the nape of his neck, running casually through the short, silken strands. His eyes began to darken to the color of stormy skies and a shiver worked through me.
When his eyes changed like that, it always meant things were about to get interesting.
I bit my lip to hold back a gasp when the hands he’d clasped at the small of my back loosened and slid down until they rested at the top of the swell of my backside. We hadn’t spent much time alone over the summer, so the whole intimate making out thing was something I was still learning along the way. But the feelings he could evoke with a touch even this simple made me wonder what more would feel like. I shivered again at that thought, and I bit my lip harder to keep quiet.
“Christ, Aislinn,” he groaned. “I told you not to do that,” he muttered, bringing a hand around and using a thumb to gently pry my lip from between my teeth. I blushed as he watched his thumb stroke my abused flesh before he licked his lips, and suddenly his lips were molded to mine.
Any ability to think flew out the window. The firm smoothness of his mouth on mine and his arms pulling me tight against his hard body rendered me less intelligent than primordial ooze. I felt something against the small of my back and realized he’d backed me up to the counter. He broke away for a moment, my breath catching when he lifted me up to sit on the edge, stepping close between my legs and crashing his mouth back onto mine.
The kiss was hot and wet. Our breaths came out in loud pants when we separated long enough to suck in a lungful of air. My legs were as tight around his lean waist and I could manage, arms and hands clutching his hair and shoulders with frantic need. His grip on me was just as desperate.

Blurb Blitz + #Giveaway: Revenge by J.A. Jackson @Jerreece @GoddessFish

Revenge
by J.A. Jackson
GENRE: Romantic Suspense

BLURB:

Last time, in J. A. Jackson’s steamy, romantic thriller Lovers, Players and The Seducer, the storm came…and went.

Back then, Nicholas La Cour played a very dangerous game of cat and mouse; one in which he involved his childhood friends, Kienan Egan and Quinn Rolandis. Even worse, he put his own sister, Lacey La Cour, right in the middle of that storm.

Everyone got swept away in the torrent of greed, lust and ruthless ambition. All except two ratchet lovers…

Another storm is coming, but the two ratchet lovers survive it? Find out in Jackson’s anticipated sequel, Lovers, Players The Seducer, Book II The Revenge Game. Winner takes all.

Excerpt:

Sutter’s Bistro was located in the heart of downtown San Jose in an old two story brick building off of First Street and East Santa Clara. Kienan parked his Escalade in the public parking lot on the corner and walked a half block to the restaurant.

Downtown San Jose had changed since he was a kid, Kienan reflected as he paused at the corner of First Street and watched the light-rail train go by. It was one of the modern conveniences that made San Jose more and more like San Francisco every day.

He walked into Sutter’s Bistro and found Thomas was waiting for him.

Thomas smiled wide in greeting. “Hey Kienan my friend. It is good to see you.”

Kienan shook his hand. “Likewise, my old friend,” he said, taking the seat across from him. “Let’s order I’m starving.”

“I already have,” Thomas replied. “That is if you still like the house special.”

“If it is still braised short ribs? You know I do,” Kienan said, without hesitation.

“Good,” Thomas said, signaling their waiter.

Their waiter appeared with two piping hot plates of the house special short ribs, sauté green beans with garlic mashed potatoes.

“Looks like retirement agrees with you,” Kienan said, taking a bite of mashed potatoes.

“Yeah, it does. And I still remember the first time I ever saw you. It was the first day of the summer mentoring program for Future Detectives.  Your father was with you on the first day. You still look like that hardworking geeky young man.”

Release Blitz + #Giveaway: Legacy of Lies by Jillian David @jilliandavid13 @starange13

Title: Legacy of Lies Series: Hell's Valley #1
By: Jillian David Publisher: Crimson Romance
Genre: Western Paranormal Romance

Garrison Taggart doesn't have time to deal with touchy-feely junk like "trust issues" or "feelings." His dad's health is waning and the family's Wyoming ranch is being sabotaged. Too bad his supernatural ability to tell when someone is lying has been exactly zero help in ferreting out the betrayer so far. So, when sweet schoolteacher Sara Lopez raises concerns about his son being bullied, who can blame a guy for getting a little testy?

The last thing Sara needs is any more attention or gossip after her recent breakup with big-shot rancher Hank Brand. So her attraction to surly but sexy Garrison, Hank's rival, is entirely unwanted. When she uncovers an insane plot to kidnap the Taggart boy and throws herself in harm's way to protect him, Garrison must risk his deepest secret and his own life to save the people he cares for the most. But will his heroics cost him everything?

But she couldn't ignore the new hand that caught the door right before it closed. Big, square fingers with trimmed, work-roughened nails blanched as they gripped the metal. A flannel sleeve encased a thick wrist dusted with reddish hair. Sinews flexed as he pushed open the door.
Hail Mary ... yum.

He crossed the worn linoleum floor in three strides, bringing with him scents of horses, hay, leather, and hardworking male. She inhaled, triggering fond memories of watching rodeo competitions featuring a certain steer roper.
Too bad her pleasant thoughts didn't jibe with the scowling man standing next to the chair. Keep it professional. Stay cool. You can do this.
Sara wiped damp palms on her black slacks and stuck out her hand. "Mr. Taggart, I'm glad you were able to take time to meet about Zach."
His strong hand wrapped around hers.
Rough skin against soft. His ruddy, weathered skin against her light olive tone. Opposites all around, but damned if their hands didn't look perfect together.

Garrison Taggart was anything but old. He must be, what, a few years past thirty now? Other than some weatherworn fine lines around his eyes, nothing else about his fit physique indicated he was anything but in the prime of his life.
When a twinkle lit the gold flecks in his eyes, her neck warmed up. Her thick hair, worn down today, had been a bad idea, if the heat building up at the nape of her neck was any indication.

He relaxed into the seat across the desk from her. The chair next to him remained conspicuously empty. When he rested a dusty-booted ankle on his knee and balanced his Stetson on his solid thigh, she sighed and made a superhuman effort not to stare at the taut denim covering his ...
Wow, she needed to stick with the parent-teacher routine and ignore how the guy made her ovaries tremble with excitement.

Yours And Mine
Christine Duval
(Freshman Forty, #2)
Publication date: February 2017
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult

The highly anticipated sequel to Positively Mine….

Picking up from the dramatic ending of Positively Mine, Yours and Mine continues the Freshman Forty series as we meet Danny Santoro, Laurel’s baby’s father, for the first time.

It’s been almost a year since he last saw her, that sultry morning she walked off the beach before dawn had even cracked the August sky. It seemed from her silence, she was out of his life forever.

But Laurel’s timing couldn’t be worse to tell him he’s a father. The last year hasn’t been easy. Danny’s own father was arrested for a DUI, his mother moved out, and Danny started sleeping with his brother’s old high school, drug-abusing girlfriend.

After Laurel shocks him with the news, she attempts to relinquish Danny of any parental responsibility leading to a heated custody battle. In an unorthodox arrangement, an eccentric judge orders Danny and Laurel to spend alternating weekends with each other for the upcoming school year.

Told from Danny’s point of view, Yours and Mine explores the second chapter of a romance that never got off the ground, the challenges of young parenting, and the hope of rekindled love.
