An Interview with Tamara Branch:

What inspired you to write ITGIRL4LIFE?

All I can say is that it was on my heart to write. I wanted to give back. I wanted to contribute to the self-esteem conversation. I wanted to write a book dedicated to the girls of the world that would remind them of their wisdom, beauty, power and strength. I was inspired from a place deep within as a woman to write this. Cultivating genuine self-love is the work of our lives and ITGIRL4LIFE is a resource to help in that pursuit.

When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I started writing poems and essays when I was about 7 or 8. I was a closet writer throughout high school and college. I'm a creative person - modeling, acting, painting, dancing, singing, etc. A few years ago I finally realized that I want to become an author and put my writing out into the world. This is the first of many books but you know the first one is always the first one. It's pretty special.

When is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

I really don't remember. I do remember being fascinated with the book The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran at the age of 5 or 6. I didn't understand a word of it at the time but later it became one of my favorites.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

I love books that inspire and enlighten. I also love a good adventure.

What is your favorite book?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

Paulo Coelho. He really knows how to take you on a journey.

If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?

I don't want to go back. I'm all about the here and now.

When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

It's easy on some days and like pulling teeth on others.

Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

No pets. I'm super allergic to cats and most dogs. I love, love, love dogs though and I want a dog one day-maybe a poodle.

What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?

Chocolate Almond Croissant, Chocolate Lava Cake, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Truffles, Chocolate anything, please! Dark Chocolate, thank you:-)

Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

Yes. Develop a writing discipline. Carve out specific time everyday to write. Write what you know, what you are interested in, what you are passionate about. Stick with it until it's complete. There may be slow days, challenges, times when you are not motivated, or feel stuck. Complete what you start. Make the commitment. Honor your dreams. It's the best feeling to get your stuff done. I'm a fan of being your own self ttpublisher because that's what I did. You learn so much about the publishing business and your rights and production of book stay within your control.

The Hunted Wizard

When Nicole dabbled in the occult, she lost it all: Her voice, her family, and her name. Now on the run from the Inquisition, she must prove to herself-and the world-that not all wizards are too dangerous to let live.

The savage murder of a bookstore employee throws Nicole into the middle of Inquisition business, like it or not. Driven by her inability to save the young man's life, she decides to hunt the killer on her own. Using forbidden magic to investigate the past, she learns that the murderer is in fact a disease that could kill the entire werewolf race.

Forced to choose between saving lives and preserving her own, Nicole embraces the magic that sent her into exile. Without werewolves, the power of the Inquisition would dwindle, and she could live without being hunted.

Nicole's only hope for success lies in the hands of the werewolves she hates and the Inquisition she fears, but finding someone to trust is only the beginning of her problems. There are those who want to ensure that the werewolves go extinct and that the Inquisition falls.

But, if she fails to find a cure, her family-including her twin sister-will perish…

Excerpt:

I slammed my car’s door, spun on a heel, and swore I would have a perfectly normal visit to the mall. All I needed was one little book. Even I could walk into a bookstore, pick up a novel, and leave without causing any trouble.

This time, I wouldn’t blow out the lights. There wouldn’t be a single power surge. I wouldn’t turn on every unplugged device in the electronics store on my way across the mall. In the ten minutes it would take me to get in and out, the only thing anyone would notice about me was the fact that I wore a high-collared sweater in late summer. I had a mission, and I would complete it without fail. The novel my agent insisted I read would be mine.

For a long moment, I considered turning around and getting back into my car. Dominic would forgive me if I didn’t start reading the book until tomorrow. I could call in a favor and ask someone to pick up a copy for me. Then I definitely wouldn’t run any risk of blowing anything up. If I had been smart, I would’ve just ordered the damned thing on the internet, but I had waited too long.

Fishing my cell out of my pocket, I unlocked the screen with a swipe of my finger. The charging icon mocked me. Despite running every battery-draining app I could find, the battery held a full charge. I opened another app, a devilish program capable of killing the battery in ten minutes. It wouldn’t, not with me around, but if I was too busy keeping my phone topped up, maybe my mall shopping trip would prove to be mundane.

I shook my head, laughing at my foolishness.

No one would notice my phone. No one would notice me for more than a second. They’d notice my clothes, and then they’d file me away as yet another weirdo wearing something strange to catch attention. L.A. was full of people like that.

I had no reason to worry. Even if I managed to embarrass myself yet again by losing control of my powers, no one would know I was the cause of unplugged electronics turning on or unusual power surges.

Straightening my shoulders, I fixed my eyes on the line of glass doors and marched my way across the parking lot.

In and out. No blown lights. No power surges. No feeding power to unplugged electrical devices. No charging batteries for strangers. I was in control, and I would charge only my phone.

Making my way to the entry, I paused long enough to hold the door for a little old lady who insisted on making her way through the regular doors despite her walker. I couldn’t blame her. If I lived to be her age, I wouldn’t want to rely on automatic doors either.

She thanked me with a pat on the arm. Flashing her my best smile, I slipped inside.

Nothing happened.

Perfect.

I could handle ten minutes in the crowded corridors. Maybe if I told myself that enough times, I’d believe it.

By- H.K. Savage
Genre- NA Romantic Paranormal Suspense
Expected Publication Date- December 9th, 2014

"Your daughter is special"

Special, that was an interesting word for it. More like broken. Broken and scared she was losing her mind. Or maybe she'd already lost it. Thoughts, images, ideas that had no business in the mind of a child raced through her brain, taking over her consciousness until all she could do was shut down and let them run. There was no room for her. Maybe there wasn't really a "her" underneath all the noise. The only thing that tethered her to her body, to the here and now was the pain. Careful always to hide the marks, Natalie relied on her knife to feel alive.

Sent to a college she couldn't remember applying to on a scholarship she didn't try for, Natalie clung to the hope that she could hide her madness from the family it was destroying. Alone at last she would finally have some modicum of peace, right?

Luka took the assignment reluctantly. In his Senior year, she was the last "special" student he would have to work with before heading off to intern and hopefully land the job, start the life his family had planned for him. The same one they wanted for his sister before she took her life.

Two broken souls with a rare ability in common, Luka and Natalie form a friendship that promises to heal them both until fate intervenes. Faced with a lie so great it threatens all Natalie has come to believe, she must make a choice: lie down and accept it or fight for those she loves.

Summary from Goodreads:
I am different. I have always been different, but no one can know or my life will be in danger. So I hide in plain sight, wearing drab clothes and thick glasses and trying to be invisible. I'm so good at hiding, no one has ever noticed me. Until Ian…the mysterious and oh-so-cute boy I know I need to avoid.

Now I have been seen. And more terrifying still, I am wanted-by those who would protect me and those who would destroy everything and everyone I love. But if they're all terrified about who I am, wait until they see what I can do…
