We have a body; there’s no time for cake!

Our PI Grand Opening gets put on hold when Eliza’s body was found in her bookstore, at the bottom of a spiral staircase she never used.

Police have ruled it an accident, but my instinct tells me, there’s more to this story.

With Detective Harper at my side and Biscuit, my devoted clue-sniffer, on my heels, we dig into Eliza’s life and uncover a hidden manuscript, a secret forgery business, and enough motives to fill a library.

Oliver, her assistant, has money problems and an alibi that doesn’t check out.

Theodore, a rival bookseller, holds a decades-long grudge over her store’s prime location.

Then, Vivian—a disgruntled author—writes a manuscript that reads suspiciously like our crime scene.

When evidence disappears and someone traps me inside the burning bookstore, I know I’m onto
a story worth killing for.

I’m being watched from the shadows, and I need to solve this cliffhanger fast—before someone writes my final chapter.

My Review:

Maggie is investigating the death of a woman who fell down the stairs, with the help of Detective Harper and her canine friend, Biscuit. Biscuit is a clever and stubborn little dog who doesn’t give up when he detects a clue. He is always by Maggie’s side; he loves finding clues and helping his human friend.

Footnotes of a Felony pulled me deep into its world the moment I started reading, with all its twists and turns that kept me hooked with each page turn. I raced to the end as each clue was revealed. The mystery and suspense kept me captivated from the very first page.

Twists kept appearing page after page as Maggie uncovered more clues. Maggie’s investigation revealed many suspects who had secrets and might have wanted to silence Eliza.

As the mystery thickened, I kept trying to understand what happened to Eliza and why. I pondered who might have wanted to hurt her and their reasons, or whether it was just an accident.

Footnotes of a Felony is a delightful mystery for anyone who loves solving crimes. Grab a copy today and help Maggie and Biscuit solve another case!

Book Blitz: Making Peace with Dementia by Ann Olson @RABTBookTours

Nonfiction

Date Published: July 10, 2025

Publisher: MindStir Media

A compassionate, practical, and empowering guide for dementia caregivers—because you deserve peace too.

Making Peace with Dementia is written for the unsung heroes navigating the challenges of dementia care—family members, friends, and loved ones suddenly thrust into a complex and emotional role. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience as an occupational therapist, senior living consultant, and dementia care coach, Ann Olson offers both heart and expertise in this easy-to-read, transformative guide.

Blending professional insight with real-life stories, Olson shares tried-and-true strategies to help care partners interact more effectively and peacefully with those living with Alzheimer’s, Lewy body, or frontotemporal dementia. With clarity and warmth, she addresses some of the most difficult aspects of caregiving—challenging behaviors, communication struggles, burnout, and grief—while reminding caregivers that they are not alone.

Inside you’ll discover:

● A deeper understanding of what your loved one is experiencing

● Tools to respond to difficult situations with empathy and confidence

● Guidance on setting healthy boundaries and letting go of guilt

● Techniques to reduce tension and create calmer interactions

● Self-care practices to protect your well-being while caregiving

Through empowering language and uplifting wisdom, Olson reminds readers that while dementia may not improve, we can get better at managing it—and ourselves.

Whether you’re just beginning the journey or deep in the throes of caregiving, Making Peace with Dementia is your roadmap to reclaiming hope, balance, and peace.

About the Author

Ann Olson has dedicated over 25 years to working with older adults as an occupational therapist, senior living consultant, and dementia educator. She is passionate about empowering family caregivers to navigate the dementia journey with greater peace, understanding, and effectiveness.

Ann’s work is grounded in real-world experience—not only as a healthcare professional but also as a personal caregiver. After leaving her demanding job to care for her ailing mother and support others on a part-time basis, she began writing Making Peace with Dementia—a heartfelt culmination of her expertise and life lessons.

Her coaching and teaching help families understand the changes they see in their loved ones, implement proven strategies, develop realistic expectations, and recognize what they can and cannot control. Above all, she believes in supporting the primary caregiver—who rarely asks for the role but deserves guidance and grace.

Ann’s writing is deeply personal, shaped by both financial loss and emotional growth. She credits her clients with teaching her how to be more patient, confident, and compassionate. Through Making Peace with Dementia, she hopes to shift the narrative from caregiving as a burden to something that—while undeniably hard—can be meaningful, manageable, and even transformative.

EXCERPT:

As she gazed out at the ravaged landscape, Olivia Fletcher felt the weight of her exhaustion like a physical force dragging her down into the dusty earth. Five years of constant strife—of strategizing and problem-solving, of rising and failing—had all taken its toll. She longed for a life of quiet contemplation, of peaceful days spent in a garden or a library, free from the constant din of conflict. But that life seemed as distant as a dream. The struggle between Cygnus and Elyria showed no signs of abating, and Olivia’s skills as a mediator and leader were still desperately needed. She felt like a worn-out tool, perpetually called upon to fix the unfixable, to bridge the unbridgeable gaps between sworn enemies.

And yet, despite her fatigue, Olivia couldn’t shake the feeling of inadequacy that had haunted her for so long. Was she truly making a difference, or was she just a band-aid on a bullet wound? Did she have the strength and wisdom to bring peace to this shattered world, or was she just a fraud waiting to be exposed? The doubts swirled in her mind like a toxic fog, threatening to consume her at any moment.

As the war drums beat louder, Olivia knew she couldn’t afford to indulge in her uncertainty. She took a deep breath, squared her shoulders, and stepped forward into the fray once more. But the questions lingered, echoing in her mind like a whispered mantra: What if I’m not enough? What if I fail? What if…?

His fascination with artificial intelligence and its impact on society inspired him to write “The Awakening of Artemis.”

Review: Island (Wastelander #0.5) by E.S. Luck

Island

Wastelander #0.5

by E.S. Luck

Published: September 12, 2024

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction, Romance

Blurb:

In the Wasteland, no man is an island...except for him.

Born after the era of cell phones, drive-thrus, and shopping malls, Isla McNeil isn't one to complain about her life in that hidden settlement they call the Valley. Perhaps the last safe place for hundreds of kilometres, she's lived there all her life alongside her grandparents, two siblings, and her childhood best friend, Noah Harding--a massive, bearded mountain of taciturn muscle who thinks and listens more than he speaks. At least, that's how most people see him...except for Isla, who looks past his facade of quiet to the surprisingly gentle man underneath.

Isla and Noah have been inseparable since they were young, but things change once Isla begins dating the most eligible bachelor in their small community, John Madigan. Dreaming of the perfect husband, home, and children, Isla is eager to settle down and build the life she wants with the hot, popular guy she's always fantasized about, hardly noticing that the closer she moves to John, the further away she moves from Noah.

But her hopes for the future are dashed, and a night of unforgettable passion with her childhood friend has Isla rethinking everything she thought she knew about herself and the man who may have been holding a torch for her all along.

Island is a post-apocalyptic romance novella that takes place in the world of The Wastelander. Although this story can be read as a standalone and has a HEA, it also serves as a prequel to The Wastelander, book 1 of my novel-length post-apocalyptic romance series (Island takes place 4 years prior). Two of the characters featured in this story (John and Kimmy) also appear in The Wastelander as main characters. NOTE: the free ebook version is available via the author's email newsletter. This listing is only for the physical hardcover edition.

My Review:

Island is a short story set in the wastelands. Some maneaters or cannibals attack people and try to eat them. They are like zombies, but are they? If they are beaten in an attack, they run away. I would like to learn more about this world and how it came to be like this. I also want to know more about these maneaters or cannibals.

Noah is in love with his best friend Isla, but she doesn’t know it. Isla and her boyfriend are planning to get married. Isla finds out that John wants to become an Outrider. An Outrider rides the wall, watching and keeping everyone safe.

I would love to read more stories set in this world. I highly recommend Island for fans of dystopian stories. Grab a copy of Island today!
