Jane planned a murder mystery dinner. Someone else had the same idea.

With a baby on the way and family flying in from across the country, Jane Daniels throws herself into planning the Easter celebration of a lifetime — a murder mystery dinner party, complete with clues hidden around the house, a life-like prop body in the garden shed, and her famous slow-roasted lamb.

She didn't account for a real body turning up in the shed.

When a bone-chilling scream from the garden sends Detective Gottfried outside to investigate, the evening takes a sharp turn. Jane's beloved neighbour is dead — stabbed in the shed between the wheelbarrow and her murder mystery prop — and every person in the house is now a suspect.

With their family and friends confined indoors and questioned by the police, Jane and Kennedy have to work fast. Someone deliberately chose their home as a crime scene. Someone wanted them to take the blame. And somewhere among the Easter egg clues and leftover carrot cake, the truth is hiding.

But as Braxton-Hicks contractions begin and the forensic team descends on their garden, Jane has a more pressing concern — and the most important mystery in her life has nothing to do with crime.

A cozy family mystery with laugh-out-loud moments and a heart full of warmth.

My Review:

Discovered On Easter is a fantastic addition to Daisy Landish’s collection. It’s an enjoyable read that will definitely leave you wanting more; I know I’ll be returning for sure.

Jane and Kennedy are expecting a baby and wanted to create something memorable for Easter, so they decided to host a murder mystery dinner party for their entire family. The excitement kicks off as everyone starts hunting for clues, when suddenly, a scream pierces the air. Jane and Kennedy immediately realize that the scream is genuine and not part of their mystery dinner party.

They rush to investigate the source of the scream, only to discover a real dead body in the shed alongside a fake one. It seems someone has been murdered on their property. Jane and Kennedy must race against time to uncover the identity of the murderer before one or both of them is implicated in the crime.

I’m eagerly looking forward to diving into more of the Jane and Kennedy Daniels Mysteries to see what thrilling mystery they encounter next.

I wholeheartedly recommend picking up a copy of Discovered on Easter today! I also suggest any book by Daisy Landish!

My Review:

Black Forest Cake Murder is the second book in the Sinclair Sisters Bakery Mystery series by Karen McSpade. It is the first book I’ve read in the series, although I knew it; I didn’t even realize it when I was reading it.

I was drawn into the story from the beginning. I like the Sinclair Sisters, Holly, Noelle, and Joy, and I like that the story is told from all three sisters' points of view. Holly, Noelle, and Joy run a bakery with their father.

They are preparing for a food critic to visit their bakery. The food critic seemed to be somewhere else during the review, which made her seem like she might not be a decent person. However, I believe she was preoccupied with troubling thoughts.

Later, the food critic is found dead in an alley. The Sinclair sisters’ dad becomes the prime suspect in the case, as he didn’t have an alibi. The sisters set out to prove their father’s innocence, as they knew their dad did not kill that woman.

I enjoyed getting to know the sisters and hearing about their lives. The mystery and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to know what was happening, who killed the food critic, and why.

I can’t wait to see what happens after Black Forest Cake Murder. I look forward to the next book in the Sinclair Sisters Bakery Mystery series. I wonder what awaits the Sinclair Sisters!

Not only that, but I highly recommend Black Forest Cake Murder to all murder mystery fans! Grab a copy of Black Forest Cake Murder today!
