As Jake undergoes a hazy physical recovery, his visual reality warps, and he begins to notice a terrible, dark shape constantly lurking in the corners of his peripheral vision. Fortunately, Jake isn't entirely alone in the face of this encroaching darkness. His loyal friend Tom and Tom's wife Marcy step in to help him, having spent the last two years desperately trying to anchor him and help him cope with his past horrors.
At its core, The Peripheral is a poignant exploration of trauma and the mechanisms the human mind uses to cope with tragedy.
