James is thrilled by the opportunity Maya extends and intrigued by the attraction he feels for her. He soon begins to suspect, however, that the secrets of the grave are minor compared to the secrets Maya holds, secrets that could hamper their burgeoning relationship and cripple the work they've undertaken for the IECS.

The People aren't the only ones interested in the newly-discovered documents. An ancient enemy of the People resurfaces, threatening the lives of Maya and James' loved ones, and setting in motion a chain of events that could save the People, or destroy them.

Author Interview-

What inspired you to write Alterity?

Alterity came about because of my love of music and the Celtic culture. After writing paranormal characters for the better part of three years, I was ready to take a little break from my vampires and write human characters. It was a transition that took some getting used to in the beginning.

When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I was bitten by the writing bug at the tender age of eight. I placed third in an essay contest and history was made.

What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

My first book love was for Judy Blume books around third or fourth grade.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

I’m not a huge fan of YA. My favorite books are those with some sizzle in the storyline. I tend to steer clear of vampire and rocker romances, simply because these are the genres I write in.

What is your favorite book?

The Outlander Series are my favorite books at the moment.

You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

Diana Gabaldon is my favorite author. I just love the knack she has for filling out a scene and making you feel the emotions of her characters.

If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?

Honestly, I love living in contemporary times and would never ever want to go back in time.

When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

Writing is definitely made easier for me with music. I usually start with an outline that never holds up. My characters are just as stubborn as their creator.

Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

I don’t have any fur babies, but I do love them. My life is so complicated and busy that I simply do not have the time to devote to one. I am a firm believer in not having them unless you can treat them as one of the family.

What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?

With the holidays coming, I am thrilled to be able to indulge in some of my favorite foods. Sausage balls and applesauce raisin bread are two of my most favorite holiday foods that I only get to eat this time of year.

Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

Write what you love. Read plenty. Stay at it. Be realistic about your expectations. Being an author hard and it needs to be something you are truly passionate about.

Who doesn’t love a sexy, dominant fireman? After a tough breakup, Lexa Mae decides she needs a change. From the southern plains of South Dakota to the Big Apple, Lexa books a hotel room and spa package at the prestigious Sterling Hotel in Times Square. Looking forward to a relaxing getaway, Lexa’s fun is spoiled the moment handsome fireman Jules Sinclair knocks on her door, ordering an evacuation. Wearing nothing but a towel, she slams the door in his face, unwilling to leave just yet. Forced from the hotel as an explosion rocks the seventh floor, Lexa has managed to secure her dress but no panties as the handsome fireman Jules rescues her from the burning flames. With no friends in the city and her belongings destroyed, she has nowhere else to go. Jules invites Lexa to the fire station, offering her clothes, shelter, and even a hard spanking for dismissing his order to evacuate. Will she learn to submit to Jules or is the heat just too much?

EXCERPT

A loud knocking pounded at the door. “NY Fire Department!” A voice shouted as he knocked on her door. “Shit!” She shut the shower off and grabbed a white towel, wrapping it around her torso. Lexa walked to the door, poking her head out. A man, dressed in a NYFD outfit stood with his helmet on.

“Ma’am, you need to evacuate the building.” “What? Why?” Lexa asked, cinching the towel to her chest. His blue eyes were captivating. His New York accent entrancing. “Can’t say. We’ve been ordered to evacuate the entire premises.” “That’s absurd!” Lexa huffed. “Let me get my clothes on.”

She didn’t give him time to object. She slammed the door in his face, dropped her towel, and stalked back to the bathroom to get her dress back on.

From inside the bathroom, she pulled the little black dress on over her head, reaching for her panties when the ground rumbled as an explosion rocked the seventh floor of the hotel, drowning the entire floor in flames and smoke, and tossing her against the wall.
