Excerpt:

I ran back deep into the woods, without even staring back as I tried to evade my teacher and the students hurtful reactions. But I came to a stop when my feet began aching. It was then that I saw this young man, slender; broad shouldered; brown hair, with big brows and a comb over hairstyle.

The good looking young men carry some equipment with himself that I couldn't quite make out what it really was. Somewhere in my heart, I felt a wild emotion, which I didn't know if it was pure sexual attraction or love at first sight.

"Hi there, my name is Keith Sullivan."

"Hi Keith, I am Julia Moore, Julie for short, nice to meet you. Wait, you are not from here, right?" I asked while I looked at him straight at his eyes. "Because I have never seen you in this valley before."

"Well, actually I am not from here, I am a foreigner. I come from Europe."

"What brings you here then, business, family, or love?"

"If finding a treasure is a business, then I guess is business."

"A treasure! Is there really a treasure in this valley?"

"Nonsense, I just like to search for stuff with my metal detector. I am a tourist crazy to find amazing souvenirs at every place I travel."

"But why travel to Dead Valley when there is more exotic places to travel?" I asked.

"It's because I have an uncle who told me about Dead Valley. He said it's a unique valley because it has its own platinum mines down underground. And I am planning to buy a lot of platinum."

"You like platinum and I that live here don't like it. I don't even like to wear gold. I just can't stand wearing jewelry at all."

Keith came closer to me, his body almost touching mine. His nose touched my tip of my nose, and my lips rubbed his lips. We both kissed wildly. His saliva tasted like sugary honey syrup. It was a deliciously dream, until he threw be back, detaching himself completely from myself.

Blood snaked down Keith's cheeks, and my mouth savored a light taste of iron. My throat swallowed his blood, and delighted my taste buds all the way to my stomach. I stared at him with seduce eyes.

"I am really sorry that I bite you."

"Don't worry Julie it must be your first kiss, right?"

"Yes it is indeed."

My Review:

I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Eighteen year old Julia Moore whom everyone calls Julie was on her way to visit with her friend Chloe when she has an accident and ends up in the hospital. Poor Julie didn't make it she died while in the hospital. But Julie didn't know that she was dead when she returned home. Everyone kept saying "Julie why are you here?" "Who are you?" Julie's whole world had been turned upside down. She didn't have a clue as to what was going on. Her life as she knew had changed and it was blowing her mind, even her body was changing.

Not long after she had returned home her father had an accident and had to be taken to the hospital himself. Julie's mother came home after visiting with her father to tell Julie that her father had died. Julie along with her mom and grandmother all three were so upset over losing her father that they all kept asking why did you take my father, my husband, my son, why not me, why could it not have been me. Lots of people in Julie's life were disappearing from her home town without a trace. Julie kept asking what had she done that was so bad for her to deserver everything that was happening to her.

All Julie wanted was to find that one true love, you know Mr. Right and have a family of her own. She knew exactly what she wanted in a man and how many children she wanted too. After she came home from the hospital she stayed in the house all the time. She was afraid to go out in public and see people with everyone thinking that she was dead. Julie's mom and grandmother keeps telling her that she is not their Julie that she is someone else. They keep telling her that she has changed that she doesn't act the same. This new Julie is more outspoken, she takes up for herself more. With all that she had been through who can blame her for asking a lot of questions. She is just trying to find out what happened to her and why everyone is saying that she is dead when she is standing right there in front of them, right in front of their eyes. Everyone thinks that she is disrespecting them but she is not.

I have really and truly enjoyed and loved reading Twinge. I loved reading about Julie and her family and being there with Julie while she tried to figure out what was going on. Twinge had a lot of twist and turns that kept you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what was going to happen to Julie next and how she would handle it. The ending is one great big surprise that I never saw coming. Homar Solano is one amazing writer who knows how to keep you hanging on until the end. Twinge is one of those books that you don't want to put down until you have read every word.

My Review:

I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Brenda wakes to the sound of a little girl's voice asking her for help. Her mother was sick and this little girl didn't know what to do. Brenda being half asleep is wondering how this child got in her room. She must have left the door unlocked when she came to her room after a night of partying with rum and coke. Brenda is just so happy that it is only a little girl that is in her room and not some dude that would be out for one thing and one thing only she is very aware of how lucky she is.

She slowly pulls her brain into the world of the living and the sound of a little girl's voice. The little girl whom she finds out is Michelle tells her that her mother is sick and wants her to go help her. So Brenda goes with the little girl to check on her mother. Upon arriving in their room Brenda finds that after checking Michelle's mother to see if she is breathing, finds that she is not but the smell alone has already given her a clue that her mother has already left them behind. Brenda thinks she is losing her mind after Michelle's mother starts making noises and attacks them.

Brenda and Michelle run out of the room which is not easy as Michelle's mother is sort of fast for someone who is undead. Brenda can't believe what she is seeing the undead walking around it is like a movie with zombies. Her mind is like in slow motion trying to figure out what is going on while at the same time thinking that they need to get off the ship. But she doesn't know how they are going to do that. Of course they have boats on the ship just for this reason but they are out in the middle of the ocean in freezing water.

While making their way to the top deck of the ship Brenda and Michelle run into more of these zombie like creatures. These zombies are not like the ones that Brenda has seen on tv or in a movie, these zombies are faster or well most are. Brenda is caring Michelle she is afraid of putting her down she is afraid that one of the zombie will get her. Michelle tells Brenda that she can walk. Even though Brenda's arms are getting kind of tired caring her there is no way she is going put her down.

She figures that Michelle can only be about five or six years old because of her size even though she seems to be a very smart child. Yeah well Michelle could be more like eight or nine years old. I mean just because she is little and short doesn't mean that she is a toddler. When I was like five or six years old my grandmother worried that I was going to be a midget. I remember when I was eighteen years old and had just graduated from high school a few months before I was visiting my aunt and there were two ladies there too. These two ladies kept looking at me and finally they ask me why I was not in school. We all just laughed and I told them that I graduated that year. Well they couldn't believe it they thought I was twelve years old. I have found out in the last year or two that legally I am a midget and oh I am just one inch shy of having to use a car seat like children do when they ride in a vehicle. I have been called all kinds of names like shorty, short stuff, little bit. Oh well names don't bother me well except one kind of does and that is being called stumpy. But ok my point is that Michelle could have been older and Brenda was treating her like a toddler. Which hey I understand that all Brenda was thinking about was keeping her alive. I would have done the exact same thing as Brenda. I would have protected that child with my life as well.

Zombie Cruise is a very well written story the only problem I had with it is that I wanted more. I wanted to know more about Brenda and Michelle and their lives. How does Michelle handle her mother being gone and that she will never see her again? Who was Brenda? Who was Michelle's mother? Who was Michelle? Have you read Zombie Cruise? No, well then you need to head on over to Amazon right now and pick up your copy. Oh you just don't know what you are missing.
