Blurb:
Bath’s Festival of Lights was supposed to twinkle with cheer—not fizzle with murder.
When demanding organizer Margot Bellamy is found electrocuted beside Santa’s sleigh, the holiday glow dims fast. Suddenly Santa’s a suspect, the lights keep flickering, and Bath is buzzing louder than a string of faulty bulbs.
I should be busy selling scarves and ornaments at The Curious Finds, but with Grandma Joyce declaring doom, Teo sniffing up trouble, and the festival on the line, sleuthing feels as inevitable as fruitcake.
Could it be Edna, ousted from her gingerbread booth? Trisha, forever overlooked for Margot’s job? Rachel, the volunteer who stormed off? Or Darren, the stagehand whose toolbox holds more than wrenches? Even a mysterious out-of-towner with a camera might not be as harmless as he looks.
With danger crackling around every corner, I’ll need more than tinsel to keep Bath’s biggest tradition alive.
Because this year, the Festival of Lights may end in a blackout—or worse.
My Review:
Everyone in Bath is getting ready for Christmas. They are decorating the town when organizer Margot Bellamy is found. She is lying in the snow next to Santa’s sleigh. It looks like she was electrocuted. And of course, Santa is the first one to make it onto the suspect list.
Santa is not the only one on that list. No, there are plenty of others on that list who may have wanted to harm Margot, like Edna, who was ousted from her gingerbread booth, or Trisha, who was forever overlooked for Margot’s job, or Rachel, the volunteer who stormed off, or perhaps it was Darren, the stagehand whose toolbox holds more than wrenches, or maybe it was the mysterious out-of-towner with a camera who might not be as harmless as he looks.
Penelope is warned by Caleb to stay out of the investigation, but with all the gossip around town about all the people who may have had their reasons for wanting to hurt Margot, she can’t help herself and must find out who the perpetrator may be.
Deck the Halls...Dead is a festively charming little story that had my attention from the first page and kept me interested throughout as I tried to help Penelope, Teo, and Grandma Joyce, not to mention the town, try to solve poor Margot’s demise.
The story has many twists and turns. It kept me in suspense, wondering what happened to poor Margot.
I would highly recommend Deck the Halls...Dead to anyone looking for a warm and cozy holiday mystery. Grab a copy of Deck the Halls...Dead today!
