A beautiful library in a historic, sleepy town in Hampshire is the perfect place for Sophia to settle away from a fraught childhood and forgotten past. So forgotten, she hadn’t thought about it in over two decades until an old, unpleasant lover borrows a book and an innocent chat over coffee stirs long-buried emotions.

And once those gates open, they’re not so easily shut – the crazy keeps on coming in the form of a dead woman, a ridiculously gorgeous (and frustrating) man who keeps turning up around every corner, and a party at a stately home that’s to die for. Literally.

Sophia’s forgotten history is going to have to be remembered in a race against time if she wants to save her own life. Unfortunately, Sophia’s discovering her life isn’t what she thought it was – at all. In fact, her life might not even be hers, but indebted to a twisted, dark world made up of ancient vows and blood ties ... ones she can feel surging through her veins...

This is a passionate vampiric urban fantasy from British author, Dianna Hardy, set in a quaint English town in Hampshire.

My Review:

I will read anything Dianna Hardy writes without even reading the summary first, as I am that definite that I will love it just as much as, if not more than, all her other books I’ve read, especially the Eye of the Storm series. Her storytelling always captivates me, weaving intricate plots with rich character development. I eagerly anticipate what she will create next, knowing it will be another unforgettable journey. I don’t think I will ever forget about Eye of the Storm. It is the best series I have ever read about werewolves.

Blood Surge may not be about werewolves, but it was just as good in its own unique way. Blood Surge is about vampires and more than one kind. The way it explores the complexities of vampire society and the moral dilemmas faced by its characters kept me on the edge of my seat. Each twist and turn added depth to the story, making it impossible to put down until I reached the last page. It gives us insight into the background of the different vampire clans and their history. The world-building is truly remarkable in numerous aspects.

Blood Surge drew me into its world the moment I began reading and never let go from the first page until the last. The characters are richly developed, each with their own motivations and conflicts that add layers to the narrative. As the plot unfolds, the stakes rise dramatically, leaving readers eager to discover what happens next in this enthralling saga. Wait, on second thought, I don’t think it will ever let me go, as I will carry it with me in my life for many years to come, just as I have with Eye of the Storm. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book, especially after that ending.

Sophia, a librarian in a quiet Hampshire town, finds her life upended after a mysterious attack. Haunted by her past, she must uncover the truth to save her present. As she delves into her memories, a stranger enters her life, and Sophia's world becomes a tangled web of secrets and surprises.

This captivating tale, Blood Surge, is a must-read for any vampire fiction enthusiast. Dianna's work, including the Eye of the Storm series, offers a thrilling and engaging exploration of the supernatural, perfect for fans seeking a gripping, suspenseful read.
