Julia Trencher has died. Twice. But Geppetto's Circus of Strange Marvels offers hope of others like her-a place she could be welcomed, celebrated even. She didn't know it would lead to herself and the circus vanishing amidst a mysterious fire.
Now, all that remains are the circus wagons at the edge of town and a darkness that a young man Max can't seem to shake. As Max investigates the enchanted circus claims and the Trenchers abandoned mansion, the line between villains and sidekicks blurs, and revealing the circus' secrets may come at the cost of confronting his own.
If you like morally grey characters, amateur sleuths, and stories grounded in reality with a magical twist, get swept away to the circus and buy Unfixed today.
My Review:
Unfixed is the first book in Amy L. Sauder’s new series, Unfixed. I was drawn into its very confusing world the moment I began reading. I love stories told from more than one character's point of view, but sometimes they can become a little confusing when you are trying to figure out what is going on or whose point of view you are reading from.
Don’t get me wrong—Unfixed is a very interesting read that kept me hanging on every word as I tried to figure out what was real and what was not. I was confused in a way that kept me wondering if all the characters were real, or if they were just a part of Julia and what was going on in her mind.
The mystery of not knowing kept me turning the pages. As the story unfolded, it revealed more and more of its many secrets, which made it that much more interesting.
After reading this first book, I am eager to check out the next one to see what lies ahead for Julia and her friends.
I would recommend Unfixed to all fans of fantasy and magical realism. Grab a copy of Unfixed today!
