Excerpt:

I tell you it is He—Haddak Ura! Lord of the Armies, you must see that!” Cathair’s voice thundered through Magra’s Council Chamber as he smashed his fist into his open palm, his Lycan side feeding off the angry emotions. I was surprised to hear that the appellation of the mines was the same as the one attributed me, but it made sense. The power of the Hell’s Gate would be controlled by the mine itself, and by the one leading the dark forces that came through … was that me?!

Amnon is an heir of Hellgard, and he can unite the region again, before it is too late!” Cathair pointed to me, and I immediately felt like shrinking into nothing.

He was unshakably convinced that I had to ascend Hellgard’s throne and lead the four cities, Byzen, Hellgard, Magra and Port Kara, against the Druids— though he had no concrete plan on how to accomplish the impossible. There had been no Deimos ruler of the region for centuries, and even if the throne was resurrected, the number of families claiming royal blood was prohibitive of reaching an agreement on choosing an emperor. Cathair insisted that a religious leader could unite them, but how was that possible with the diversity in the cults? Magra was the center of the Freesmiths, Byzen of the cult of the All-Seeing Eye, and Hellgard had not just one, but two powerful cults: those of Asmodeus, or Ashmedei as the ancients called him, and Ashtoreth. Port Kara on the other hand, was a lawless and confusing jumble of atheism and rampant sects.

My Review:

Golems of Beithir is the second installment and an excellent continuation of The Chronicles of Hadúr series by Michal Snaerravn. This book presents a highly engaging and enthralling narrative that kept me engrossed as I eagerly awaited the upcoming battles.

I found myself unable to turn the pages as quickly as I desired. I could visualize each battle as if I were actively involved, which made the story even more incredibly enriching.

The story features various races, including Druids, Trolls, Lycans, Elfbloods, Ogrebloods, Demonbloods, and many others. A fierce war rages on — a struggle for dominance over Hell’s Gate — involving numerous factions.

I am eager to explore more of this fascinating world within The Chronicles of Hadúr for further enlightening experiences. I wholeheartedly recommend Golems of Beithir to anyone who appreciates captivating epic fantasies! Be sure to obtain a copy of Golems of Beithir today!

About the Author:

Michal Snaerravn continues on his journey as an explorer of his book writing soul whenever he is not answering the call of the great outdoors. He believes that every prose, song, or poetry we create captures a snippet of our souls. Having grown so much from completing the second book of the trilogy, Golems of Beithir, he is enthralled with the creation of the closing volume, Mist of Akhlys. "Life is too short to idly sit by: pursue your dreams as if your life depended on it. It does."

Books and adventures are meant to be shared—onward and upward!

The epic fantasy opens with “Curse of Ashmedei,” seen through the eyes of Amnon, a young Demonblood hunting for the Druids that killed his parents. He crosses paths with a Company led by powerful Druids and becomes snared in a web of treacherous alliances. His enemies are constantly one step ahead, and only the aid of Cathair, an ancient Lycan who has lost his humanity saves him from death at the hands of Druids, Trollbloods, Trolls, Orcons and their allies. In “Golems of Beithir,” Amnon closes in on his nemesis—Beithir, a powerful Master Druid with dark powers from Hell’s Gate. Beithir stalks Amnon’s every step in efforts to eliminate him and his allies, forcing the young Demonblood to side with the Trolls as they battle the Druids for control of the Hellgard Empire. “The Mist of Akhlys” culminates the trilogy as Amnon confronts his inner self and questions his values of revenge as he is taunted by lust and love…

The release of “Mist of Akhlys” will be followed by a short, free TTRPG Campaign that follows popular structures and mechanics. “The Staff of Amdren” will set in the Hellgard Empire, led by the fearless Warlord Dornoll. Beta testing for Game Masters is available on the author’s website.

Excerpt:

The sun began to slip behind the ragged slope, staining the wisps of clouds surrounding the peak in blood red.

It was late summer, and the bitter katabatic wind was making its way down the slope, rustling a few dying leaves, and chilling my bones. A lone peregrine falcon drew lazy spirals high above the erratic maze of rocks and boulders, looking for the unwary marmot that enjoyed the evening sun just a bit too long. Crouched, I carefully studied nearly invisible tracks. It was the same company I had been trailing for weeks now, consisting of an armored party of more than a dozen men and women. The tracks wound along the steep slope and entered the open scree. Soon their trail would be lost in the jumble of jagged rocks and Troll-sized boulders. I hesitated, my tail twitching as it usually did when I was annoyed. The path they were on faced directly against the sun as it dipped into the glacial valley. I knew the valley well, and it was perfect for an all-too-easy ambush. I suspected the company had already detected my presence, and it would be foolish to tempt fate, especially when facing a dozen armed men … headed by a Druid, no less.

My Review:

Curse of Ashmedei is the first book in The Chronicles of Hadúr; it is also the first book by Michal Snaerravn that I’ve read. I was drawn into its world the moment I began reading.

I was immediately captivated by Amnon, a young Demonblood with a twitching tail. From the very first page, Amnon started tracking Druids while being stalked by a Lycanthrope. Amnon is killing the Druids and is very good at it, but then he finds he has been outsmarted by the Druids and is now their prisoner.

Michal Snaerravn has created an enthralling world of epic fantasy in Curse of Ashmedei. A world that kept me captivated throughout with its many twists and turns that kept me hanging on every page, trying to figure out where the story was going next. The world-building is one of the best I’ve seen so far.

I highly recommend Curse of Ashmedei to all epic fantasy fans! Get a copy now and follow Amnon as he embarks on his quest to prevent an impending war from destroying his world.
