Blurb:
Three billionaire alpha wolves. Three women who can't be bought. One fairy godmother who is, frankly, out of patience.
Yachts. Helicopters. A private island and a recording studio nobody's allowed to enter. The richest alphas on the coast think a wallet can solve anything — a wedding, a curse, a fated mate who'd rather drown than be bribed. The Soulmate Registry has news for them. So do the sidekicks.
Three standalone fated-mate novellas. Three fairytale retellings with fangs. Zero cheap endings.
CLAIMED BY THE HARBOR She rammed her jet ski into a billionaire's superyacht, dragged him out of the water — and her wolf claimed him before her brain could object. Now an alpha who owns the harbour stands between her dying village and a developer with a bulldozer, the thing that grabbed her ankle in the dark wasn't kelp, and Surf — the audiobook-quoting husky who repels lawyers with paperwork he invents on the spot — keeps warning her that big boats mean big problems. Cinderella, with a Little Mermaid bite. The broke girl who won't be bought, and the man who keeps trying.
LOVE IS A DANGLE A billionaire's helicopter dragged her off a skyscraper by her own safety rope — and mid-air, the alpha at the controls bit her, claimed her, then handed her a business card and offered "compensation." She has five days, one black-tie gala, and a magician who needs their bond completed by midnight to harvest everything she was born holding. Pumpkin, her ex-special-ops corgi, has already filed an incident report. It is four pages. Cinderella on a ticking clock, and the worst first impression in matchmaking history.
THE FORBIDDEN TUNE She crashed a rented speedboat into a recluse's private island and woke a wolf she never knew was watching. Oscar Calloway forbade music, wore a suppressant for fourteen years, and would genuinely rather buy a man's entire life than admit to a single feeling — and he's hiding a curse that makes loving her lethal. Only Pitch, a 131-pound Newfoundland with perfect pitch and a paralysing fear of water, can hear the way out. Beauty and the Beast, scored for one very brave dog.
Inside this paranormal romance collection:
Fated mates & accidental mating claims
Billionaire alpha werewolves who can't buy their way out of love
Cinderella & Beauty and the Beast retellings with teeth
Talking animal sidekicks with strong opinions and zero discretion
Fake dating, hidden identities, a sea witch, and a curse or two
A Soulmate Registry run by a fairy godmother with firm views on your love life
Found family, dry wit, and a guaranteed — but hard-earned — happily ever after
Edgy cozy. Romance with teeth. Each story stands alone; together they're a binge.
If you love shifter romance, paranormal romantic comedy, and fated-mate fantasy where the heroine wins, the alpha gets humbled, and the animal sidekick steals every scene — welcome to the Happy Novels universe.
My Review:
CLAIMED BY THE HARBOR
Liv and her Alaskan husky, Surf, are out on her jet ski when she glances up to see a superyacht. With no time to alter her course, she collides with the boat, sending its occupant into the water. Both Liv and Surf also plunge into the sea, and something beneath the surface seizes her as she attempts to swim back up. In a moment of instinct, she grabs the man and bites him — her wolf asserting ownership while she exclaims, 'mate.'
The man attempts to buy Liv off by offering to purchase her struggling town, but she refuses to entertain the idea. Liv is determined to save her town, but not through blackmail. She is determined to find another way to save her community.
CLAIMED BY THE HARBOR is a remarkably captivating tale featuring compelling characters and an endearing canine companion. I found myself wanting nothing more than to embrace Surf tightly — a gesture I suspect he would not appreciate at all.
LOVE IS A DANGLE
Eve Santos and Pumpkin, an exceedingly self-satisfied corgi, are struggling to survive after a helicopter yanks them off a building using her safety rope. In a desperate move, Eve seizes the costly cat carrier — currently occupied by Pumpkin — which he had borrowed from a Persian cat named Mr. Whiskers, as it slides off the edge of the building. A strikingly handsome man emerges from the helicopter and seizes Eve by the wrist. While Eve and Pumpkin dangle precariously in midair, he bites her, asserting his claim over her as his wolf howls about their destined bond.
The man, Ostrey Ashford, who nearly jeopardized her life, hands Eve a business card featuring his name and contact details, offering her financial compensation for the trouble caused. Both Eve and Pumpkin are indignant at his audacity. Meanwhile, Eve grapples with the bewildering reality of having been bitten and the impending claim by his wolf.
I can vividly imagine the expression on Eve’s face as she storms off the rooftop, infuriated by the bite and the offer of monetary compensation. And we must not overlook Pumpkin’s response as he attempts to defend his human companion. I found it utterly delightful.
THE FORBIDDEN TUNE
Journey Adams, the executive producer of the Lunar Tide Music Festival, encounters Pitch — a 131-pound Newfoundland who is thrown from a building right in front of her. He had just been fired again. During rehearsal, he tells a little girl that she is off-key.
Journey decides to walk him home — Pitch is reluctant to return to his owner and wants Journey to take him along. She is determined to rescue Pitch from that house.
Journey applies for a producer position at the Conservatory. However, there is a small issue — she lost her ability to hear music a long time ago. Still, she hopes to fix this with Pitch’s assistance.
The first task for Journey is to convince the Conservatory to accept Pitch back. But she also needs to persuade Pitch to be less rude and outspoken.
THE FORBIDDEN TUNE is a touching yet sometimes melancholic story. Pitch and his owner, Gerald, are mourning Elanor, Gerald’s late wife. It’s heartbreaking to witness their sorrow in everyday life and how they cope with it.
When Journey’s past catches up with her, she flees again with Pitch by her side — right into a yacht and a man who rescues both of them from the water. Who is this enigmatic man? A mysterious figure who makes Journey’s wolf stand up and shout mate. I was captivated by Journey and Pitch’s story from the very first page.
Luxe Into Love
I have genuinely relished every moment spent reading the three tales in Luxe Into Love: Soulmate Registry. Each story stands out as unique and is masterfully crafted in its own distinct style. They revolve around women and their chatty animal companions, who encounter a dashing alpha wolf, wealthy and convinced he can escape the bonds of mating through his riches.
The imaginative worlds brought to life in each narrative captivated me, making it impossible to put the book down. The world-building was exceptionally executed in every tale. I eagerly anticipate diving into more of these wolf claims wolf stories in the next Fairy Tales With Fangs story.
