Blurb:

In ten days, she'll lose everything. Unless she finds a killer the police don't want found.

Zoya Volkova wasn't asking to find a dead woman in a Moscow field on a chilly Tuesday afternoon. But now she's a witness, and she's watching the police frame an innocent kid for murder.

Even worse, someone from Zoya's past has decided this mess is her responsibility. The crime boss who believes Zoya owes him millions gives her an ultimatum: expose the corrupt cops and find the real killer, or watch her world burn.

She has ten days.

Ten days to untangle a murder the authorities are actively sabotaging. Ten days to protect everyone she cares about from a man who deals in debts and devastation.

The clock is ticking. The police are dirty. And Zoya's running out of moves.

A hard-edged crime thriller with high stakes and jaw-dropping twists, The Woman in the Shallow Grave is perfect for fans of Harlan Coben and Michael Connelly.

My Review:

Zoya Volkova returns in another captivating tale by Nadya Frank titled The Woman in the Shallow Grave. Zoya intervenes to assist a group of teenagers who are attempting to extract a car from a ditch. In the process, they discover a woman partially buried in the mud.

Zoya provides her statement to the police, but it is tampered with and altered. One of the girls present at the crime scene is being falsely accused of a murder she did not commit. This girl happens to be the niece of a crime lord. Zoya finds herself in peril. She has a mere ten days to uncover the identity of the person who killed this unfortunate woman and to exonerate the niece from the crime she is wrongfully accused of, or she will face severe consequences.

The Woman in the Shallow Grave begins with an explosive start and maintains its momentum with numerous twists and turns that kept me engrossed in every word as I hurried to the conclusion to uncover the entire narrative and discover what transpired with the woman half buried in that field. I was eager to find out who was framing a young girl for murder and the reasons behind it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the installments in the Zoya Volkova Crime Thrillers series and eagerly anticipate the release of the next volume. I am enamored with the universe crafted for Zoya. The Zoya Volkova Crime Thrillers comprise some of the finest stories I have ever encountered. Once I begin reading one of Zoya's narratives, there is no possibility of stopping until I reach the final page, as the surrounding world fades away instantly.

I wholeheartedly recommend acquiring a copy of The Woman in the Shallow Grave today!
