Blurb:

Tis the season

. . . for losing your job.

 . . . for getting scammed.

 . . . for falling in love?

Self-proclaimed workaholic, Jemma Jones finds herself jobless twenty-five days before Christmas. With a push from her overly optimistic best friend and a pinch of fate, she does what every rational person would do. She impulsively books a last-minute, insanely overpriced flight to Paris, of course.

The next thing she knows, she’s at an airport, dodging a man dressed as an elf when she runs into a very handsome but frustrating Frenchman named Luca.

From that moment on, Luca seems to be everywhere, even when she finds herself without a place to stay.

When Luca offers his place, it’s perfect—he’s perfect. . . except for one tiny little detail: he might have a gorgeous girlfriend named Colette.

Will this holiday of mishaps turn into the most unexpectedly magical Christmas of all, or will her impulsiveness turn out to be a recipe for disaster?

If you enjoy sweet, funny romances sprinkled with a touch of serendipitous Christmas magic, then you’ll love this story.

My Review:

I enjoyed reading Just My Merry Luck way more than I expected. It was more than I ever thought it would be. It drew me in from the very first page, and I was hooked from then on. I love the title; it fits the story so well—amazingly well done. But so was Jemma’s story. Just My Merry Luck is a heartwarming and bittersweet story in some ways, yet festive in others.

Jemma lost her job a few weeks before Christmas. I felt so sad for Jemma when she found out she had been fired. I wanted to cry, and I came very close to it as I could only imagine how she was feeling. The tears she shed showed how she felt.

Her best friend Gretchen, talks her into taking a last-minute trip to Paris. She almost misses her seat on the plane when her flight is overbooked. After arriving in Paris, she finds out she had been scammed. The place she rented didn’t exist. After checking, she learns that all the hotels are full until after the new year.

She finds herself all alone in Paris with nowhere to go. Until she remembers the man on the plane she almost lost her seat to, and she gives him a call, not knowing what else to do. Lucas comes to her rescue, picks her up, takes her out to eat, and then lets her stay at his place for the night.

I highly recommend this sweet little story to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy! Grab a copy of this lovely gem today and take a trip to Paris with Jemma!
