Interview with Amanda Nelson & Lisa-Marie Potter
What is your favorite part of the book?
To share our favorite part would be a spoiler; however, we do have a favorite relationship—other than the sizzling chemistry between the main characters, we love Autumn’s parents. They have such cute interactions both together and with their daughter.
Does your book have a lesson? Moral?
No, our books are purely for entertainment and escape. We simply want our readers to love the story and our characters the way we do.
Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
We base our character’s appearances off actors we find attractive or that go together as a couple. As for their personalities, those are purely from our imaginations.
Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?
Jensen is our favorite character. Not only is he dreamy to look at, but he also has a great personality, he’s vulnerable, kind, sexy, and great with kids.
What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?
Hands down, Kayla. She’s manipulative, spiteful, and genuinely not a nice person. We wouldn’t trust her as far as we could throw her.
What would the main character in your book have to say about you?
Autumn would be grateful that we introduced her to Jensen. She loves how we developed his character, and how we gave her independence within her goals and boundaries.
Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?
Each of our books in the Plus One series can be read as standalone novels, but all the characters are interconnected in the same world. Both books two and the upcoming third are centered around characters that can be found in book one, Men In Books Aren’t Better.
