(Charming Irish, #3)
Publication date: June 9th 2025
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Wistful Whispers is an irresistible battle of the wills where surrendering to forbidden temptation could cost them everything.

I never promised forever.
A good time? Absolutely.
Heartbreak? Only if they got too attached.

My reputation as a quiet playboy precedes me—women talk, and my ‘talents’ follow me wherever I go. But I’ve always been upfront. No commitments. No expectations. No complications.

Marcella Delgado is nothing but complications. Brilliant. Fierce. Eight years older. And the attorney trying to take down my boss in a malpractice case. She should hate me on sight—hell, she does. But that doesn’t stop the heat between us from igniting the moment we meet.

She’s heard the stories about me firsthand, right there in the depositions. She knows exactly what I’m good at, and even though she fights it, I can see the temptation in her eyes.

One night. One line crossed.
Now my future’s unraveling—and she might be the only thing I don’t want to let go.

For the first time, I want it all.

And I’ll fight like hell to be the man she can’t leave behind.

Interview with Kaylene Winter

What is your favorite part of the book?

The moment Marcella finally lets go. After a lifetime of holding herself together, of believing she has to be tougher, smarter, sharper, she lets herself feel safe with Seamus. It’s not only about the sex (though…hi), it’s about the emotional surrender. The moment she realizes she’s not too much or too complicated or too curvy or too loud—she’s loved. Fully.

Does your book have a lesson? Moral?

You are worthy of love exactly as you are. No prerequisites. No perfection. Your past doesn’t define your future and sometimes the person who challenges you the most is exactly who you need.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

They all have a little bit of a lot of people I know in them—friends, family, strangers I’ve overheard at coffee shops. I take those sparks and then let my imagination run wild. So while no character is a carbon copy of a real person, the emotions, struggles, and quirks are deeply rooted in real life. Then I turn up the volume for drama, romance, and storytelling magic.

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?

I love them all differently (like children, honestly), but Seamus holds a special place. He’s brilliant and awkward and earnest and trying. He’s a man who’s made mistakes, learned, grown, and chooses love every time. Also—he’s funny. His POV was a blast to write.

What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

Caldwell. He’s the kind of man who hides behind his prestige and power, blames others to protect himself, and thinks he’s untouchable. We all know a Caldwell.

What would the main character in your book have to say about you?

Marcella would probably arch an eyebrow and say, “Took you long enough to tell this story.” Then she’d pour me a glass of wine, call me out on over-apologizing, and ask for a rewrite on her deposition outfit. Seamus would thank me for giving him a woman worthy of his devotion—and maybe ask for fewer public stairwells next time.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

Definitely connected. Each book can stand alone, but I’m building a world—intertwined lives, families, friendships, heartbreaks, and healing. The McGloughlin brothers all get their stories and Connor’s story is in the Less Than Zero series. All my series are about love, but also family, legacy, and finding your place in a world that doesn’t always make room for you.
