My Review:
Darcy,
Mozart, and Lizzie are in Oaxaca, Mexico, for Día de los Muertos, or
the Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and
2nd, during which families remember and honor their deceased loved
ones. This celebration involves creating altars, visiting cemeteries,
and enjoying festive activities.
Upon arriving in Oaxaca,
they encounter a mysterious lady who keeps eluding them, vanishing
whenever they spot her at the festival, even after they helped her
during a mugging. Who is this enigmatic lady, and why does she keep
running away? Mozart seems to be fond of her, so why is she being so
elusive and disappearing?
Darcy, Mozart, and Lizzie are
relishing their day at the festival, sampling its unique and diverse
cuisine. The descriptions are vivid, leaving me craving the
scrumptious-sounding dishes featured at the event. I can envision the
street where the festival takes place, along with the booths and the
people in their beautifully described clothing.
Their day
is disrupted when someone lets out a scream. Darcy, Mozart, and
Lizzie rush to investigate. An accident has occurred; a man was
impaled by one of the sculptures. The police are labeling it an
accident; however, Darcy suspects it was murder.
Once
again, Darcy finds herself with a murder to solve. Her investigation
reveals that the victim had enemies on every continent. Can Darcy
find the killer before they vanish into the night, never to be heard
from again?
