Interview #1
Do You See Writing as a Career?
After seven years of hard work, persistence, and hair pulling, I’m lucky to call writing my fulltime career.
What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
It changes with each book. At times it can be the research aspect. Some subjects are not as well known and require some serious digging to find accurate information. My librarians are used to me asking them to order in the weirdest books. Other times it can be the emotions involved. Heavily emotional books take a toll on me personally. I have to take breaks, walk away, and at times balance the sorrow, and angst with happy things, or downtime.
Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
I’ve been blessed to meet some wonderful people who I include in my tribe. My RWA local chapter all have to go on this list as well as authors like LaQuette, Rue Volley , and many more that I couldn’t list here at one time. Writing can be a lonely occupation, having friends who understand the business are a life saver.
What is next for your writing?
I’m currently working on the follow-up and final book in the Bad Duology , Bad Moon.
Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing?
If so, what are you currently reading? Yes, I’m an avid reader. I just finished the Simple Faith of Mister Rogers by Amy Hollingsworth. I jumped at the chance to learn more about the man who became an unsuspecting icon. I really enjoyed it. I’m working on picking my next read at the moment.
