These are just a few of the days humans prophesied as bringing catastrophic events that would end the world. We predicted nuclear warfare. Drastic climate change. A call from God.
We were wrong.
Cue the gargoyle invasion—laboratory bred mutants designed to slaughter humans. When the government goes AWOL and gargoyles are swarming by the hundreds, it's up to the citizens of the United States to regroup and save themselves.
Meet Cliff Matthews, a teenage boy separated from his entire family with the exception of his younger sister, whom he is desperate to keep alive. Along the quest to save their lives, he encounters people who aren't all that they seem. Everyday's a battle, but if he can't trust his own species, where does that leave his family?
And we can't forget the man who may be willing to sacrifice Cliff's life, if it means world domination.
In terms of doomsday, no one could've seen this coming.

Author Interview:
The Avid Reader: What inspired you to write Dawn of the Apocalypse?
E.S.P.: My biggest inspiration to right this book was authors like Amanda Hockings and Moses Miller, who have great success stories from starting out as small authors. I wanted to make myself a success story. And I finally wanted to put my ideas out into words. Reading great books made me aspire to write my own and contribute to the literary world. As far as what inspired the story, the gargoyles featured in my book came in a nightmare. I guess you can say I followed my dreams.

The Avid Reader: When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?
E.S.P.: I think I’ve wanted to be a writer for as long as I could read. Story telling has always been a big part of my life and my young mind was always swarming with new plot twists and characters.
The Avid Reader: What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?
E.S.P.: We’re going way back, aren’t we? Maybe I can’t remember my first book, but I remember tales like Corduroy and Good Night Moon used to captivate me. I also had a huge fairytale book that I would read nonstop.
The Avid Reader: What genre of books do you enjoy reading?
E.S.P.: I love all genres (except nonfiction, ew) but the books I love most are apocalyptic books. Like my own! Apocalyptic books are the ones that truly captivate me and let my imagination wonder. Plus, you never know what will happen when the world is ending.
The Avid Reader: You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?
E.S.P.: Another hard question. God. I don’t want to say Suzanne Collins and James Patterson like everyone else, so I’ll just be real with you. I am my favorite author.
The Avid Reader: If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?
E.S.P.: I would travel back to the eighties. I feel like the eighties is my decade. Watching old movies like Tuff Turf make me wish that I was a teenager back then. I dress, look, and act like a free spirited eighties teenager. If only I could travel back in time…
The Avid Reader: When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?
E.S.P.: The actual writing itself comes naturally, but when I am distracted by things such as Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram, the hardest part is to actually sit down and write. I will basically find any reason not to write. But when I do, it’s a cakewalk.
The Avid Reader: Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
E.S.P.: My scaly friend is my turtle, Spike Lee. After my bird randomly exploded and my dog was run over, I decided an animal with a hard shell was the best way to go.
The Avid Reader: What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?
E.S.P.: I would pretty much die for anything that tastes good, but my father makes hot wing pasta that is literally to die for. It’s a mix of pasta, cheese, blue cheese, hot wings, and hot sauce. Sounds disgusting, but I would take a bullet for it.
The Avid Reader: Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?
E.S.P.: Write! That’s it! It’s really not as complicated as everyone thinks. Stop being a wimp and pick up your pen. Not tomorrow. Not in ten minutes. Now! That’s all. And it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about your writing either. My reviewers can say whatever they want, but I know I will be publishing books until the day I die. And you should too.
