Book Tour: Red of Reckoning by Mirai Amell @RABTBookTours

All That Matters, Book 3

Adult Fantasy

Date Published: 06-24-2025

Publisher: Shadow Spark Publishing

Broken hearts can hardly mend the world.

Unless they relinquish all that matters to them.

The relics of power have shattered, awakening the ancient Gods of Creation. As they stir inside their amber cages in Heaven, the Guardian joins forces with the Devil, hoping to contain their influence within the afterlife realms. The Gods, however, don’t need to move an inch to catch their prey. Mortal or immortal, human or fae, heroes or villains—all are vulnerable to the thrall of Reality, Reason, and Release.

Each has their own agenda, and they have already chosen three champions to do their bidding.

The more their hosts resist, the more the Gods revel.

Before too long, there won’t be anything left of them to fight for.

In a world where evil has finally announced its homecoming, the only things standing between existence and annihilation are those fragile bonds of friendship and love that time has ripped asunder.

Interview with Mirai Amell

What is your favorite part of the book?

My favorite part of the book-writing process is when the first draft is done, and I finally know the story. Similarly, my favorite part of the book is when the breadcrumbs for thirty-plus chapters come together into a nice fluffy nut-riddled bread.

Does your book have a lesson? Moral?

Truth in Blue was about loss, Jaded Reasons was about healing, and Red of Reckoning was about moving on. While the entire series was high fantasy, metaphors and allusions were used to reveal a generally applicable lesson: All that matters is that we met.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

This is a work of fiction. Any similarities to real people, dead or living, places, or events are entirely coincidental (I must repeat this in an interview, but there’s an author note that whispers otherwise).

Of all the characters you have created, which is your favorite and why?

In the All That Matters trilogy, my favorite character is the Devil. He started as a minor character in Truth in Blue, only appearing in a total of four scenes. Still, he not only became a fan favorite, but also mine. Over the three books, his role expanded, and his influence grew, culminating in me finally giving in and creating a novella Steeped in Shadows to make the Devil the main character of his own story. The Devil is the epitome of our struggle to rise above societal expectations and become the person we see ourselves as.

What character in your book are you least likely to get along with?

Una. She is one of the main characters in the ensemble cast, and she is based on me (shhhh). But she is the person I used to be more than a decade ago. This Mirai won’t get along with Una anymore.

What would the main character in your book have to say about you?

As an ensemble cast of at least five main characters, it’s hard to pin down the main MAIN character. But Una would think I am too full of myself (and I think the same about her), Amaryllis would say nothing but sigh in dejection, Malakai would try to kill me just to make sure I don’t get in his way, Tristen would hope he doesn’t get a deal to capture my soul, and Seraphina would be glad that I won’t reach heaven, so I am not her problem anyway.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

Currently, I have a complete trilogy with Red of Reckoning as the third and final book. They are connected to each other. There is also a free novella link as a separate story but set after the events of Book 3.
