My eyebrows shoot up at his admission, and I stumble a bit on a crack in the sidewalk. He grabs my elbow to steady me. Not trusting my voice to work, I nod in response. Of course I've heard of the secretive Orion Circle-everyone has. Speculation as to the nature of the club runs the gamut from academic to secret society.
The moment we enter the park, Kodiak prances in excitement, eager for the wild trails up ahead. This time of morning wildlife sightings are plentiful. Kodiak lunges at a squirrel crossing our path. I make a clicking noise with my tongue, and the dog reverts to his obedient behavior. Pavement gives way to a dirt trail, forcing me to slow my pace due to the uneven footing.
"I think you should come to our meeting this afternoon. I'll find you later today and give you an invitation."
His offer blindsides me, and I nod like an idiot, my head bobbing a few too many times. Somehow I manage to smile at him before returning my gaze to the trail. Wow, the Orion Circle and Logan in one day. I feel like I'm floating on a cloud until a rock brings me back to Earth. After stumbling a few steps, Logan's hand on my arm is the only thing that keeps me from falling.
If I continue to run down this dirt trail, I'm afraid I might fall to my death. It seems I'm having a hard time seeing anything other than an image of Logan's handsome face. I glance up at him, surprised by the concern etched across his face.
"Are you okay? You didn't twist your ankle, did you?"
"No, I'm fine, really," I reply as a hot flush creeps from my neck to my face. "But my mind is a million miles away, and I'm afraid I'll break a leg on this trail if we keep going."
"We'll head back, then," he says before turning to walk back to the park entrance.
"Thanks for understanding," I say, relieved we are walking rather than running.
"I only got a glimpse of your vision," he says in a soft voice. "It was bad. Real bad. Don't worry, I'll help you, I promise. I think you'll feel a lot better after the Orion Circle meeting."
His words fill me with warmth along with a feeling of contentment. Perhaps this vision isn't so bad. I mean, it brought me closer to Logan, after all.

Release Day Book Blitz: The Last Protector by Stephanie Keyes @stephaniekeyes @NereydaG1003 #YABOUNDBOOKTOURS #Giveaway
And even weirder? Gabe's mind kept replaying these images on loop of things he'd never seen. He heard voices in his head when no one was around. And he actually blew off hot Valerie Gibbons to chase after the black-haired kid in the park. What was up with that?
As Gabe searches for the truth, fate continually puts him in Kellen's path, but will he be able to stop the Children of Danu from stealing Kellen before the battle begins? What will it take for Gabe to become The Last Protector?
*The Last Protector is a companion novella--intended to be read after the other books in the series.
I needed to get to the window on the second floor. And how the heck did I know that? Like everything else about this trip, I just did. A tall trellis swamped with vines ran up one side of the house. That could be the ticket. I inched closer.
I'd just about made it when a raspy voice reached my ears.
"The boy is alone. You've done well by me."
Shivers ran up and down my arms as I swallowed and turned. No one. It must've come from inside the house. Ahead, a small window, one of those decorative deals, stood open. Taking slow steps, I moved toward it.
"Thank you," said a second voice, crisp, sort of fancy…British, maybe?
"We can take him now. Use his power to harness what I need," Spooky Voice said.
"As you wish.
Go, go, go. A voice or maybe my own thoughts echoed inside my brain. I didn't have time to think
Go, go, go. The voice came back. I had to get to the second floor. Now
The wood trellis scratched my hands when I grabbed hold. Splinters pierced my skin as I scaled the wall. I had to get to the boy.
"This is crazy, Gabe." I muttered the words. "This could actually be the stupidest thing you've ever done."
I climbed to the window way faster than I thought I could. This one part of me wanted to glance back, to see if Val noticed me. I ignored it though-I needed to get to the top.
To the kid with green eyes.

Review of Court of Nightfall (The Nightfall Chronicles, 1) by Karpov Kinrade @KarpovKinrade
Court of Nightfall
(The Nightfall Chronicles, 1)
by Karpov Kinrade
Blurb:
I've spent my life in shades of grey. It wasn't until I died that my world filled with color.
That night, I still lived in black and white. There was a full moon. Full and looking as if it had been rolled in powdered sugar then plopped back into the sky, so that a white dusting shone around it like a halo.
I've never believed in monsters, or any of that nonsense. Never believed that the dark could be scary. Until that night. Now I know the truth, but it is shrouded with lies. Now I can see the world in color, but it is covered in shadows. Now, I must find the monster that killed my parents. And when I do, I will use my new powers to seek vengeance. A life for the lives that beast stole from me. I am no longer just Scarlett Night, the color-blind girl who dreams of flying.
Now, I am Nightfall-a fallen angel with a lust for blood. And I shall have my revenge.
My Review:
I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.
All Scarlet ever wanted her whole life was to fly. But she has one problem that may prevent her from getting her license's she is colorblind. She only sees in shades of grey. With flying being the only thing she has ever wanted she has not only spent her life learning to fly a plane but she has also spent it learning how to tell one color from another. Finally the day comes when she goes and takes the colorblind test.
Upon her return home she finds out that all her life her parents has been lying to her about who they are and who she is. When she arrives home after taking her test her parents tell her they have to leave that they have found them. They also tell her about the weapon that they have been protecting for most of their lives. But before they can get the weapon and leave the enemies arrive and try to take the weapon. Scarlet's parents both lose their lives trying to protect the weapon.
Scarlet plans on finding out who killed her parents and then she will get her revenge with the help of her bff Jax. But she soon finds out that she doesn't know who she can trust. She doesn't know if she can trust the one person that she grew up with and hung out with for most of her life or can she trust the people that she was taught was her enemy? Scarlet doesn't know which way to turn or who to trust. But she knows her she loves even if she may not be able to trust him.
After the night her parents die Scarlet finds that she is changing or becoming someone else. Her body is changing and doing things that have her all confused but it sure doesn't take her long too adept and accept the changes that are happening to her. She is determined to find out what happened to her parents and change the world. Scarlet will not let anything or anyone come between her trying to make everyone or person treat everyone the same as equals. She will try to make them see that everyone is the same no matter what they look like or how much money they may have. Scarlet is out to change the world to make it a better place for everyone.
Court Of Nightfall is one amazing book and I can't wait for the next book in the series. All of KK's books that I have read have been awesome reads. I have loved every book by them that I have read. KK is one of those authors where you don't have to read the summary to know that you want to read their book. I don't need a summary to tell me that it is going to be good if the authors are Karpov Kinrade. If you have not read Court Of Nightfall then I highly recommend that you pick up your copy today and start reading! You will get so lost in it that you won't know what is going on around you and that is saying a lot for someone who is always aware of what is happening around them.

Book Blitz: Learning to Swim (Hearts Out of Water #1) by Annie Cosby @anniecosby @NereydaG1003 #YABOUNDBOOKTOURS #Giveaway
- Serena Chase, USA Today
When Cora's mother whisks the family away for the summer, Cora must decide between forging her future in the glimmering world of second homes where her parents belong, or getting lost in the bewitching world of the locals and the mystery surrounding a lonely old woman who claims to be a selkie creature-and who probably needs Cora more than anyone else.
Through the fantastical tales and anguished stories of the batty Mrs. O'Leary, as well as the company of a particularly gorgeous local boy called Ronan, Cora finds an escape from the reality of planning her life after high school. But will it come at the cost of alienating Cora's mother, who struggles with her own tragic memories?
As the summer wanes, it becomes apparent that Ronan just may hold the answer to Mrs. O'Leary's tragic past-and Cora's future.
I shook my head. "What's that?"
"They say he was a spirit that dwelled in the waters near Scotland. Seonaidh, my Seamus would call him. Seamus had a great love of ale; it was the Celt in him. Do you know, people used to wade into the water and give an offering of ale to Shoney? It was meant to appease him and secure them a good harvest."
I thought of drunken old Scottish men stumbling into the ocean and draining buckets of beer-draining just as much into their stomachs as the water. I didn't say as much.
"But of course my Seamus liked to make a mockery of it. He was Irish, you know. He would go into the water with his ale and drink it all down-some might say that was a slight to Shoney."
"I don't think he'd mind," I mumbled.
"Seamus liked to enjoy his ale, right here on this beach. You know, that is how we met. Me, swimming along minding my own business, and my Seamus roughhousing with ale and good friends."
So she had met her husband when he was stark raving drunk. How quaint.
"I'd seen him before, of course. Every day, when I was swimming." She looked at me out of the corner of her eye, possibly to see if I was listening. The parallels of the story were unsettling. Swimmers, spying, crushes, wanting to see the world? Who exactly had this old woman been talking to? Shit-did Ronan know more than he was letting on? Or was this woman just clairvoyant?
"But it took me a long time to make the change. To tell my mother. So when I came to the beach and met him, there he was with his ale. He was very taken with me. We moved into this little house and had a grand life altogether. Of course, as nature will do-it stifles things. Feelings. I started to yearn for a return to the water, but my Seamus kept me here."
