Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress.  Dahlia is an autistic who prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters.  She has found great happiness with her husband, her tiny dog Bacon, and her collection of books and video games.

Dahlia has worked over the years as a teacher, insurance adjuster, and even had a brief stint as the pianist in a band–very brief, like three weeks. She uses her experiences as a TCK travelling around the world during the first twenty-years of her life to add spice to her stories.

Blurb:

They narrowly escaped capture…

But they’re not out of the woods yet

Caer Cymraeg was only trying to avoid an arranged marriage to Tamuria’s princess, not get tangled up with an untouchable.

But now the prince is on the run with the mysterious Spirit Summoner Mali LaSalle, hoping to reach his home nation’s border before one of the powerful Elemental Masters in service to the king catches up to them.

If they’re caught, Mali will be killed—or worse—and Caer’s marriage will occur on the spot. With danger lurking at every turn, will they make it before it’s too late?

Spirit Summoner is a 16,000-word epic fantasy novella depicting Prince Caer Cymraeg’s and Mali LaSalle’s first day on the run from the Tamurian Empire. Can they reach the Nation of Cymraeg’s border? Or will the wayward Tamurian King Magnu’s army, or something more sinister, catch them?

Goodreads

My Review:

Caer Cymraeg is trying to avoid an arranged marriage to Tamuria’s princess. Caer meets up with Spirit Summoner Mali LaSalle who is also on the run for reasons of her own.

Caer and Mali are trying to reach Caer’s home before they are caught. If they are caught Caer will have to marry the princess right then and there and Mali will be killed.

Can they make it before the king and his men catch up with them?

Spirit Summoner is packed with action from the first page to the last. You will be racing to the end to see how it all connects. I was rooting for Caer and Mali the whole way. I could see it all playing out in my head as if I were a witness to the whole thing.
