Pretty Little Wherewolf

“Whatever, Di. Help if you must, but don’t baby me.”

If Di heard her, she didn’t respond. Not that Giselle needed verbal confirmation; she turned back around and slammed her locker shut without looking, and then stumbled straight into something… someone… hard.

“Oh, sorry,” Giselle mumbled, trying to steady herself. She hadn’t caught the scent until after she looked up and saw who she’d almost knocked down – or, well, collided with. She couldn’t have knocked him down if she’d tried.

Hello, Boy!

He was magnificent. Was every guy in this school a male model? Towering over her at well above six foot, with muscles that went on for days, he was built like a statue with a hard jaw and stone-cold eyes to match. Though his looks were definitely worth paying attention to, it was his smell that had her standing dumbfounded. In all the years since she’d first experienced the change, she had never run into anyone like her. Now, standing here right in front of her was yet another wolf. She’d thought the lingering scent of wet earth might have been left in Di’s wake, but the longer he stood here, looking down at her, the stronger the smell got.

“Do you have a problem?” he asked with a voice that complemented that spectacular body of his. Smooth and deep. Seriously… what a package. Her wolf was definitely at attention and begging for a second to come to the surface for a closer inspection. It was all she could do not to wolf out right there in the hallway, with all the students around to see. Yeah. That would make for a great first impression.

Hiya, everyone… I’m the new girl, and… oh, yeah, and I’m a wolf, too. She might as well tape an old “Kick me” sign on her back; it would be less conspicuous.

While she was practically drooling where she stood, the strange boy, wolf, man –whatever he was – looked positively murderous. “Are you going to stand here all day, or can I get to my locker?”

So much for making a good first impression on him. “Sorry.” Giselle cleared her throat, wanting to say something smart, but for once, she didn’t have the words. She sidestepped sheepishly, and enjoyed the back view of him as he brushed past her to his own locker.

Damn. Nice butt.

Her wolf agreed, too. Wonder what his wolf looks like. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours! She couldn’t help but stare. How often did she run into other wolves? Male wolves.

Other Side of Forever

“Allie, why do you hate me so much?” he asked softly as he stared into the sky.

His question took me by surprise. Did he really think that?

“I…I don’t hate you, Ethan.” I stumbled over my words. “I barely know you.”

“Then why do you try so hard to avoid me?”

“I don’t,” I lied, knowing that I did, but not in a mean type of way. I closed my eyes and sighed, wishing he didn’t have to ask so many questions. Couldn’t he just go back to saying nothing at all?

“You do,” he argued. I could hear the change in his voice. He was smiling.

“No. I don’t,” I answered sarcastically. His persistence was pinching my nerves.

“Then look at me,” he challenged.

Without thinking, I turned my head and looked at him. His warm, sweet breath blew against my face as he exhaled. The scent of peppermint. His dark eyes snatched me up and whisked me away. I was lost and unprepared as he drew me deeper and deeper inside him. The walls he created around me were getting higher and harder to climb. Like I had slipped into a trench and I was sinking into the earth.

Ethan pressed forward, attempting to close the gap between us. His lips were so close to mine I could feel the heat emanating from them. And just as our lips were about to brush, the voice in my head begged and pleaded and screamed for me to stop.

Then I turned away.

Book Tour + #Giveaway: The Healing Frequency by Jiulio Consiglio @JiulioConsiglio @JaidisShaw

 photo Healing Frequency.png
Title:  The Healing Frequency
Author:  Jiulio Consiglio
Published:  January 5, 2016
Genre:  Spiritual Non-Fiction
Recommended Age:  17+

Synopsis:

Pain, Depression, Loss…

In the fall of 2005 the life of dental health care educator Jiulio Consiglio dramatically changed course after he awakened to the frequency and experience of inner stillness. In The Healing Frequency, Consiglio recalls the adversities he has faced such as years of intense anxiety, the death of a brother, a failed marriage and his own cancer diagnosis that ultimately led him to a shift-a miraculous shift in consciousness. Feeling his life was heading into a bottomless downward spiral, nothing could have prepared him for what the Universe had in store for him.

In this powerful and answer-filled guide to enlightenment, spiritual teacher Jiulio Consiglio offers his experience of personal suffering which created the perfect condition for him to make the quantum leap into enlightenment. After failing to find answers in the world around him, the author at the age of 33 surrendered and experienced an unimaginable and life changing awakening-the activation of the third eye.

In this book he shares the timeless wisdom of the soul and demonstrates the power, wisdom and clarity that lies dormant within all of us. As Jiulio contends, we all have the potential and ability to heal ourselves through inner transformation. Through the frequency of inner stillness he reveals that there is more to us than the thinking mind; a greater part to us, a vastness that has the ability to heal us from the separation from our Source and each other.
A timely written book as more and more people search for answers; The Healing Frequency offers you a simple invitation-an invite into the knowing of inner stillness.

Excerpts from The Healing Frequency:

"Everyone wants to be happy, but authentic happiness has nothing to do with your station in life, the money you have, or the things you own. Happiness, the kind that conscious beings can call forth at will, is based on nothing outside of yourself. This happiness is founded in certainty, in peace, in inner stillness."
--
"If you truly value something, you will automatically have a great appreciation for it. What value can you place on knowing and remembering your authentic self?
--
"When you are centered in your consciousness and aligned with stillness, there is no reaction that can withstand the power of unconditional love. No fear can long survive it. No anger can stand up to it. And no darkness can remain present in this space because the One who stands there for you is your highest self, God."

Her roommate & brother keeps telling her stay away but she can’t. Her past will soon catch up with her. She will be forced to decide.
Big brother’s best friend or the hurtful memories of her past in Paris.

EXCERPT:

Jillian sat down on his plush new sofa and said, “Your apartment is really nice. Did you decorate it yourself?”

He nodded. “I did. I’d much rather have what I like on the walls than what some decorator tells me I should have.”

“Me too,” she said, honestly. “You have a great eye for colors and space…what is it you do for a living?”

“I’m into fashion like you,” he said, taking a seat on the other side of her. He was less than three feet away now and she was alone in his apartment. That wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t keep picturing herself locking lips with him. She hoped that he couldn’t see her sweat as her internal temperature continued to rise. He didn’t say any more about his job so she said,

“So you bought the Galvan in Paris. Was that your first trip there?”

“No, I’ve been there a lot. I love it there…just the atmosphere and all of the culture.”

Jillian remembered saying that exact thing to Maddy a couple of weeks ago. She was realizing that she and Jude actually seemed to have a lot in common. “So do I,” she said. “I saw so many great art and fashion shows while I was there.”

“Did you get to be there for fashion week?”

“I did! I got to see a show at the Carrousel du Louvre!”

“I was at that one. It was great!”

Jillian found herself wishing she would have met him then. Maybe she would have never met the other man that she’d spent her summer with and left broken-hearted. They talked for half an hour about the fashions coming out this year and she asked him about his family.

“My father passed away a few years ago. It’s just me and my mom now. I’m an only child.”

“Oh, I’m not sure what I would have done without Ethan.”

“Where is that brother of ours?” he asked with a wink.

“He’s in Las Vegas…Sin City for three weeks.”

“Uh oh, look out!”

She laughed. “And that is as much of my brother’s exploits that I want to discuss.” She sat her empty glass down and stood up. “Thank you for the drink Jude, and the conversation. I should take off…”

“So soon?” He stood too and gave her a hot, smoldering look that ignited the fire in her belly.

She was suddenly burning up from the inside out. She had to go…or she wasn’t going to. She smiled and stepped past him. She felt him right behind her as she reached for the door handle.

“Jillian…” his voice was deep and sexy and she knew turning towards him was going to be a mistake…but she did it anyways. As soon as she did his lips met hers and he nudged her back against the wall. She parted her lips and he pressed one hand into the wall and wrapped the other around her waist and pulled her into his hard body as he let his warm, wet tongue snake into her mouth. The taste and the feel of him was intoxicating and before long her own hands were feeling the hard flesh of his back and sliding around to trace the outline of his chest muscles underneath his shirt. She felt him lifting her skirt up and something in her brain was telling her to stop him…but her body was in charge at the moment.

He touched the crotch of her thong and her body exploded in a gush of warm fluid and chills that ran up and down her spine. He rubbed her through her panties and she couldn’t bring herself to tell him to stop. It felt so good and she wanted him so bad…when his fingers slid underneath the elastic and made contact with her hot flesh, her head felt like it exploded. He slid the hand on the wall down and gripped her ass with it as he used his fingers to pleasure her.

The whole time his tongue wrestled with hers and explored every curve and crevice of her mouth. It didn’t take long before her body was shaking and she was crying out in ecstasy as the orgasm washed over her in wave after wave of pure bliss. Jude waited for her to stop shaking before pulling his hand back and moving his mouth over to the side of her face next to her ear, “I need to see you again,” he whispered in a strangled voice.

Jillian couldn’t stop shaking. She wasn’t even sure her legs would carry her across the hall. In a voice she hardly recognized she said, “I have to go.” She turned the door handle behind her and Jude took a step back and watched her go. The desire she saw on his face burned through her like a hot poker. Who the hell is this man?

EXCERPT:

Getting back on the donkey was the hardest thing I’d ever done. By the way the sun hung lower, it had to be mid-afternoon. I was bone-tired and so hot that my light shirt was dark with sweat. Once in a while I scanned the horizon, wishing for clouds, wishing for something to change and get me out of my misery.

Of course, there was no such thing. The relentless blazing continued, the sky huge and intensively blue. My muscles screamed with every step and the insides of my thighs burned raw.

“Hey, Kid.” The voice sounded muffled as I woke from a daze. The Irish had pulled his horse next to Donkey Biter, watching me with clear green eyes.

“What?” I croaked.

“You don’t look so good. Where do you say you come from?”

I swallowed, but there was nothing but grit in my mouth and my mind was blank. I finally waved my chin toward my right shoulder. “East.”

“You a city boy.” It wasn’t a question. “Going to make your fortune in the west? Get some gold?”

I nodded and threw a sideward glance at the man, my eyes aching from the scorching brightness sinking low in the sky. I had to ask. “Where’re we going?”

The Irish threw me a quick look. “Santa Fe. Isn’t that where you were heading?”

I managed another nod. That was in New Mexico if I remembered right. “How far?”

“Boss, look.” Wade yanked around his horse. I saw nothing, but Scarface next to him raised an arm. Everyone stopped. I was glad Donkey Biter got his cues from the other horses or I would’ve walked on.

“Looks like settlers,” Broken Nose said. “Are we going to take them?”

My Review of The Kid:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Yes finally I got to read The Kid! After reading The Duke’s Wrath I knew I had to read The Kid and boy am I glad I did. Oh Max is back again and is having a day in his life. He is upset with his dad again and all he wants is to get away. It has been almost a year since Max played the game where he traveled back in time to Germany in 1471 and he never thought he would play again. Going back in time the first and not knowing if he was going to ever find his way out of the game and get back home again was pretty scary for him.

But with everything that is going on his life right now and with all the time that has passed since the last time he played Max has kind of forgotten what it was like to be stuck in the past. Besides all that he misses his old friend Bero and his sister Julianna. Last time Max had a crush on Julianna and she also liked him. Julianna wanted Max to marry her that is what all the young girls did her time. They got married young and had a family. But Max being from a different time wasn’t ready for a family. Oh no he still had his whole life ahead of him for that. First he needed to finish high school and then maybe get a degree first. But he did miss them a lot so he decided that he would take his chance and go visit them again. He thought he had this game all figured out but he sure didn’t have something down pat because he ended up in another time in another country than before.

This time when he played the game and traveled back in time he went back to 1881 in the Wild West days. He saw a family being attacked by the Indians while traveling. He also met Billy the kid who turned out not to be the bad guy that history claimed him to be. Max actually became pretty good friends with him. But he also met another pretty girl who he came to like and care for a lot too. This girl wanted him to marry her as well but Max wasn’t ready for a family. He cared for this girl a lot and did think about staying in the past with her.

Max was also left with not knowing what he was supposed to do in the game or what his missions were. He was almost as confused this time around as the first time he played. He thought he had it all figured out but he soon realized he was mistaken. But he didn’t really know what he wanted if he wanted to stay in the past or go back to the future. Will Max figure out what it is he is supposed to do? Will he ever make it out of the game? Does he really want too? What will he do? What will his family do?

If you like reading historical/time traveling books then you are going to fall in love with the Escape from the Past series. It is and amazing series and I can’t wait to read the next book to see where Max takes us on his next adventure. I can’t wait to see where he goes and who he meets.

Escape from the Past: The Duke's Wrath:

by Annette Oppenlander
GENRE: YA historical/sci-fi

EXCERPT:

“Mutter, I brought someone.” Bero slumped on the bench, scanning the table. I stood unmoving. Two tallow lamps flickered in earthen pots, barely making a dent into the gloom. The thick mixture of smoke, dust and body odor was worse. Disgusted, I rubbed my nose. It didn’t do any good.

The left side of the ceiling hung so low that I easily touched it with my hand. The other half was hidden by dense smoke. A scrawny fire smoldered in a stone hearth along the back wall. In front of it stood a woman of indefinable age, stirring a cast-iron pot.

“You’re late,” she said without turning. “Next time we eat without you.”

“I told you she’s mad,” said the girl who’d been shelling beans earlier.

“Hush, Adela,” the mother shot back. I looked back and forth between them, struggling to follow the weird speech while identifying the smell emanating from the pot. Nothing came to mind. Despite the terrible stench in the house, my stomach gurgled in anticipation.

“Nay, I was late because of this lad,” Bero said. “He needs shelter for tonight.”

At last, the mother turned around. Even in the gloom I could tell that she was shocked, maybe scared, her eyes blackish pools in the haggard face. She carefully placed the ladle on a stone plate and stepped closer—her eyes now squinting, scrutinizing. I wanted to bolt. A disgusting odor enveloped me. While Bero smelled of earth and pigs, the woman reeked of sweat and something sour. I tried breathing shallow breaths, thinking I should just leave and sleep outside. But then I thought of the rustling in the woods, the evil riders wielding their swords— worse, how clueless I felt.

My Review of The Duke's Wrath:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Are you a big gamer? Have you ever wished you could be a beta gamer? Have you ever wished you could get your hands on a copy of a game before it was published? Well that is just what Max did in Escape from the Past: The Duke’s Wrath. His best friend Jimmy’s dad is a game developer. So Max kept begging and begging Jimmy to get him a copy of his dad’s new game. Jimmy finally gave in and gave him a copy.

Max loaded the game into computer that night thinking he would only play for a couple of hours. It was not the first time he had pulled an all-nighter playing a game. To him it was no big deal. He was young and didn’t need that much sleep besides if and when it did eventually catch up with him he would sleep then. When he loaded it up it gave no options or clues as to what or how to play the game. Well I guess it did have a few options something like beginner or advance player. Max being the big gamer that he is of course he choose advance player thinking he with the time he has put in to games and seeing how he is good gamer then advance would be a piece of cake to him. But he was in for a big surprise.

When Max entered the game and he took a good look around him he realized that he may be playing a game but it was real. He had been transported to the past but where he had no idea. But he did hit it lucky though as he met a nice young man or boy who helped him out and became his best friend. Max’s new friend Bero took him home with him. Bero and his family didn’t have much but what they had they shared it with Max but of course Max was nice as well and helped Bero with his chores.

Max liked being with Bero and his family and spending time in the past but he soon became homesick. But he didn’t know how to get back home. He didn’t know what missions that he needed to complete in order for him to leave the game and return home again.

When I read the summary of The Duke’s Wrath I knew I had to read it. I like the idea of traveling back in time but to do it through a game is awesome. Just to think about time traveling and visiting places in the past is just amazing to me. I would love to travel back in time and visit lots of historical events in history but I don’t think I would like being stuck in a game not knowing when or if I would ever find my way home again. Now that would be scary. I am so glad that I got the opportunity to read The Duke’s Wrath. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series The Kid. I know it will be just as amazing and The Duke’s Wrath.

If you like reading historical novels or playing games then I think you would probably enjoy reading The Duke’s Wrath. So go and grab your copy today!

Excerpt:

CHAPTER ONE

SHE GRABBED SEVEN’S hand and pulled him hard in her direction. “This way!” she exclaimed to both of them as the persistent shrill of the alarm sounded about the dark steel corridors.

Seven’s mind was still spinning. He disbelievingly looked back at his double to make sure he was still there. How far away the academy now seemed.

The mysterious bright yellow-skinned girl who held his hand had opened his eyes to a world that seemed too cruel to be real. Yet there he was, and there she was, her long, dark green hair swaying behind her. Part of him still clung to the hope it was all nothing more than a dream. That any second now he would awake to the sound of Pi or Iris banging on the door t o his dormitory room, urging him to wake up lest they be late for class. Yet, the feel of her warm hand, the clanging of his boots on the cold metal underfoot, the stifling thin air he breathed, the sting of the cuts on his body and face, all felt real. A reality the likes of which he had never tasted before. This was the reality he had always been denied. A reality they had kept from him. A reality that wanted him dead.

The urgency of the situation still eluded him, for he had yet to see any attackers, and had only her word to cling to. The fact was, this new existence began and ended with her words, convincing as they were. His other self really was running behind him, and the mysterious girl’s desperation to escape seemed genuine. He trusted her, or wanted to. She could just as easily have left him there at the academy, and he would have been none the wiser, but she hadn’t. She had freed him. The truth had to be better than the perpetual lie he had inhabited.

They ran, weaving through flickering corridors, snaking past oily archways and doors. All of a sudden, any doubts he had vanished in a cry that sounded behind him. He turned as they stopped running to see his other self jerking violently, electric blue forks of light enveloping him. The horror of what Seven witnessed rocked him to his very core.

“We have to keep going!” shouted the mysterious girl, pulling at his arm once more. “Come on!”

Breath catching in his throat, Seven locked gazes with his duplicate, whose eyes shone as tears rolled down his cheeks, just before his body crashed limply to the ground beneath.

“Come on!” Like a rising echo, the mysterious girl’s voice shattered the veil that fogged his devastated mind, and he ran with her faster than he had before.

Seven now ran slightly ahead of the girl as she directed him toward a large doorway ahead. Upon crossing its threshold, he stopped, awed by the enormity of what was before him. He found himself standing on a long, narrow metallic bridge. Surrounding him was a tremendous, cylindrical area that extended up and down into pitch darkness as far as the eye could see. At the other end stood another doorway.

As he made to dash toward it, the bridge retracted into the dusty stone wall on the other side. Seven turned with haste, to make certain the mysterious, green-haired girl was behind him, ready to jump. Emerging from the depths beyond the doorway, she dragged herself to its threshold, clinging to her deeply slashed leg, dark blue blood gushing as she held it.

Panic coursed through Seven’s body. She looked at him, defeat and regret saturating her eyes. He was not going to lose her. She had released him from his prison. She had been his guide and saviour. She was his world.

“Jump!” he shouted, stretching out his hand, imploring her to take it.

He looked into her eyes, his mind ablaze with words he wanted to tell her. The girl whose name he didn’t even know had saved his life, had revealed the reasons and secrets behind his very existence, and he knew nothing about her. And now time was running out.
