EXCERPT

WITHIN THE SHADOWS

Alarming as it might have been, I was quite excited. Sounds pretty crazy, but I think I got caught up in the moment, and being made a fuss of was definitely something I could get used to.

But, as always, reality has a nasty way of hitting you hard in the face.

I walked behind Atarah and Angelika as they led me through corridors that looked like something out of a gothic fairy tale. The walls were a strange shade of pomegranate, its boldness illuminated by softly lit candles. The wooden floors were temporarily covered with a bluish red runner that ran the whole length of the hall. Amaranthine drapes hung over the grand bay windows. The air had a distinct aroma, and although I could not quite place the smell I was sure it was incense. Its strong, fragrant smoke brushed the back of my nostrils, resulting in a few disapproving sneezes.

I sniffled, “Excuse me!” as we entered the hall through a large set of oak doors.

It was a very dramatic entrance. Standing below me were hundreds of unknown faces. A few stood out, but they were strangers all the same. They wore a mixture of black and purple clothes.

The women were dressed in floor-length gowns, their hair pulled back tight and their hands covered by long lace gloves. The men’s attire consisted of black herringbone frockcoats with matching black trousers. All wore purple shirts with black cravats.

I looked around, trying to find Alex, and there he stood with Leonid, in front of an altar.

It was the most spectacular scene I had ever seen. Lighted candles and floral arrangements of violets, orchids, red roses, lilies and irises filled the entire room. The scent was overwhelming.

Silence fell, and all eyes were on me. My stomach churned and panic set in. I wanted to run through the doors and as far from there as I could, but behind me were two large men, standing in front of the doors. They were not going to move for me.

I stood alone and watched the smile spread across Alex’s face as he ushered me to him.

I must have floated down the stairs, as I cannot remember walking down. The crowd moved as I walked down an aisle strewn with rose petals.

Alex looked amazing. I had never seen him look so handsome. He wore identical clothes to the rest of the men, except that his cravat matched the grey marl in the sash I wore around my waist. His smile illuminated the whole room and in normal circumstances would have melted my heart, but there was something sinister in his eyes. A deep redness flickered in the light of the candles.

I was so out of my depth.

Taking my hand, he led me to a stone slab in front of the altar. Shaking, my voice quivered as I whispered to him.

“What’s going on?”

“It’s your consecration. Remember, you will be blessed tonight. Just follow my lead.”

He was so calm, and it seemed that he expected me to mirror his demure behaviour. I was anything but calm. Sweat began to seep in the palms of my hands. So many eyes were upon me.

Breathe Giselle, just breathe!

Alex, directed me to lie down on the stone slab. I obliged, and rested my body on the coldness of the rock beneath me. Incense filled the space around me; no air just smoky fumes. There were four men, one standing at each corner of the slab and each holding a staff. Their eyes filled with the crimson tide that was visible in both Alex and Leonid. Alex stood back and disappeared behind his father. I was alone with the strange men, each mumbling to himself.

From the altar came the voice of someone I knew.

Atarah.

MY REVIEW

WITHIN THE SHADOWS

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a copy of Within The Shadows from the author via Making Connections Blog Tours for review.

Eighteen year Giselle is dating the most popular boy in her school. Then one day she finds out that her boyfriend Marc is cheating on her with the most popular girl in her school. How does she know this? Does she have proof that he is cheating on her? Yes. What is the proof? A DVD from an anonymous person with her boyfriend Marc and Evie, the most popular girl in Giselle's school.

After watching the DVD Giselle calls her best friend Alex to come over to her house to talk. Alex has a plan to help Giselle get back at both Marc and Evie on prom night. After Alex helps Giselle get her revenge on Marc and Evie she walks out.

Giselle finds out that Alex is not the friend that she thought he was. He forces her to leave with him. He takes her to his home and family. Giselle discovers that Alex and his family are vampires. He tells her that she is to be wife and have his child to start a new breed of vampires. Alex keeps Giselle a prisoner in his home.

Within The Shadows is one fantastic read. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. I loved all the twist and turns in the story. Just when you thought you knew how everything was going to turn out, bam you are hit with something entirely new. Julieanne Lynch is an amazing writer. She knows how to slam you in the face with an unexpected event around every corner.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Within the Shadows Author

Fiery Librian Julieanne Lynch is an author of urban fantasy books for both adults and teens. Julieanne lives in Northern Ireland, where she works on her Shadows Trilogy and other series full-time. Before becoming a writer, she considered a few different career paths, a rock star being one of them. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at The Open University, and considered journalism as a career path. However, she decided writing was the way for her and believes all of her education and reading prepared her for it.

An avid reader, Julieanne has always had an encompassing fascination with folklore. When not writing, she enjoys crime series such as Criminal Minds, CSI, NCIS and Cold Case, and loves anything with Vampires, listening to metal, meeting new people, drinking lots of green tea, and sharing her dreams with her children. She is a self-professed goth wanna-be, and is happy when left to write into the early hours of the morning.

Julieanne's YA series, The Shadows Trilogy, is published by Vamptasy Publishing and thus far contains In the Shadows. It follows the war between vampires and shadow creatures. Giselle Bergman, an 18-year old human girl, falls victim to a scheme by one of her closest childhood friends, and embarks on a journey that sees her become the centre of a battle between good and evil.

Blog A Quote is weekly meme hosted by Michelle Chew Writes. Each week we will be sharing a quote from our favorite books. For more info and to sign up visit Michelle Chew Writes.

My quote for this week

Palomino

Palomino By Danielle Steel

“The judge arrived half an hour later with the file he had collected from his office on the way, signed several papers, had Sam sign them, the matron witness them; Josh cried, Norm cried, she cried, the judge grinned, and Timmie waved his teddy bear at the judge with a broad grin as they wheeled into the elevator. "So long!" he shouted, and when the doors closed, the judge was laughing and crying too.”

Palomino is one of my favorite books of all time. I loved all the characters. Sam is very strong minded person and strong willed. She was also very independent. Sam's friend the owner of the ranch and the ranch foreman I loved how they cared so much for each other. Sam and Tate has the same kind of feeling for each other as they did. Palomino is a very fantastic read.

BOOK DESCRIPTION OF BINDING ARBITRATION

Through the corridors of the Windy City’s criminal courts, single mother Libby Tucker knows exactly how far she’ll go to save her cancer-stricken son’s life. The undefeated defense attorney is prepared to take her fight all the way to the majors.

Circumstances force Libby to plead her case at the cleats of celebrity baseball player Banford Aidan Palowski, the man who discarded her at their college graduation. Libby has worked her backside bare for everything she’s attained, while Aidan has been indulged since he slid through the birth canal and landed in a pile of Gold Coast money. But helping Libby and living up to his biological duty could jeopardize the only thing the jock worships: his baseball career.

If baseball imitates life, Aidan admits his appears to be silver-plated peanuts, until an unexpected confrontation with the most spectacular prize that’s ever poured from a caramel corn box blindsides him. When he learns about his son’s desperate need, it pricks open the wound he’s carried since he abandoned Libby and the child.

All Libby wants is a little anonymous DNA, but Aidan has a magical umpire in his head who knows Libby’s a fateball right to the heart. When a six-year-old sage and a hippy priestess step onto the field, there’s more to settle between Libby and Aidan than heartache, redemption, and forgiveness.

Cutters of Jocks cover

On the idyllic campus of Indiana University, Little-Libby-Nobody runs into Band-Aid, All-American-Athlete, and fireworks explode. Libby and Aidan spiral into a collision course of love at first sight versus lust you can’t fight. As the game plays out and their affection grows, they soon realize that labels like cutters and jocks can’t keep them apart.

But when Libby and Aidan find themselves in trouble they have to confront the reality of where they each fit in the others’ world. Libby believes superstar jocks don’t take cutters to Rose Well House, in the center of campus, at midnight and pledge their undying devotion beneath its sparkling dome. And Band-Aid imagines there’s no place for a pregnant, small-town waitress in his bull-pen or the major leagues. What happens when worthy opponents refuse to play their hearts out?

INTERVIEW WITH ELIZABETH MARX

Elizabeth Marx: Thanks so much for taking the time to interview me Avid Reader.

The Avid Reader: Thank you for taking the time to visit with me today and welcome to The Avid Reader. I am glad you stopped by.

The Avid Reader: What inspired you to write BINDING ARBITRATION?

IU Fountain

Elizabeth Marx: I went to Indiana University with my husband for a baseball reunion weekend and while we were sitting at this fountain in the center of campus a young couple sat down across from us and they shared this romantic moment and it made me remember the intensity of a college love affair. And then I looked at the girl who seemed to be a cutter (townie) and the boy who appeared to be an athlete and my writers mind took it from there. That’s where Cutters vs. Jocks, the FREE prequel to BA came from! It’s free for KINDLE & NOOK

The Avid Reader: When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

Elizabeth Marx: I went to the Chicago Public Library a lot when I was a kid. I’ve always loved books, reading, and just the feeling of being surrounded by bookcases full of information and imagination. I fell in love with words that rubbed together to create other worlds and realities. I won a writing contest in 8th grade, so it must have started around then.

The Avid Reader: What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

Elizabeth Marx: I didn’t read myself until sometime in second grade and I remember the book too. Frog and Toad Are Friends, it was a Caldecott Medalist. I must have had good taste in books from the beginning.

Frog and Toad Are Friends

The Avid Reader: What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

Elizabeth Marx: I read everything from the Austen to Evanovich. Romance is probably my favorite category, anything from contemporary to historical to paranormal. I also read a lot of historical non-fiction mostly for research. I wish I had more time to read, but it’s difficult to fit it in when you’re writing yourself.

The Avid Reader: What is your favorite book? Who is your favorite author and why?

Elizabeth Marx: I put these two questions together because for me they’re related. My favorite book is Persuasion by Jane Austen. I re-read it a least once a year. Jane Austen is my favorite author because she writes romance, but her romances are complicated and complex. Her hero’s are dark and brooding, her heroines, though trapped by the conventions of their time, are spirited and strong. There’s something about the depth of the love between Captain Wentworth and Anne Elliot that is so palatable that you almost feel yourself a voyeur of their love affair. Austen has an innate ability to make us love and hate characters, even her secondary characters have stood the test of time for two hundred years. I guess she’s my favorite because she’s my idol.

Persuasion

The Avid Reader: If you could travel back in time here on earth or any place or time. Where would you go and why?

Elizabeth Marx: I’m a big history buff so my answer to the time travel question will always be dependent on what I’m researching or thinking about in reference to my writing. I’m almost finished with a short novel set in the middle ages in Wales and England. So I guess you should plop me down on Hexam Levels, near Westmoreland. Be forewarned there’s a battle brewing between the red and white roses and I have no idea which King’s side I’m on. There is also a vampire looking for a box that’s hidden somewhere on my estate and once he comes for it, he decides he wants something else from me, something his dark desires require more than blood…

The Avid Reader: When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

Elizabeth Marx: Writing easy, editing hard! I don’t get writers block because I usually have two or three ideas going at a time, so if I feel stuck or stifled I work on something different and whatever is clouding my progress seems to clear up when I work on something else. I write the first draft clear through to the end and then I go back and rewrite and edit, it’s the third pass through of the edit that always gets me!

The Avid Reader: Do you have little fuzzy friends?

Elizabeth Marx: Yes, I have two cats. Lord Luxor and Sir Sherbert are full blooded Maine Coons. I’ll attach Luxy’s picture here, Sherbs is a little photo sensitive right now, he got shaved a few weeks ago because his hair was in a knot. When Sherbs came home Lux took one sniff and hissed and he continued hissing for the next three days. I don’t know if it was the dog smell from the groomer or Lux’s way of letting us know there was no way in Hades we were doing that to him!

Lord Luxor

The Avid Reader: What are your “to die for” favorite foods to eat?

Elizabeth Marx: Chicago is a great restaurant town so there is no short supply of choices. Mexican is my favorite so I’d go with Hot Tamales and their famous BBQ Chicken Enchiladas.

The Avid Reader: Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

Elizabeth Marx: Write. Read. Write more. Read more. Re-write the manuscript. Re-read your favorites. Write a third draft. Edit. Put manuscript under your bed. Write something new. Edit. Read. Pull 1st manuscript out & re-write/edit. Find professional editor. Edit. Read. Rinse. Repeat.

Thanks for visiting with me and happy reading, reviewing and writing! Elizabeth Marx

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Photobucket

Windy city writer, Elizabeth Marx, brings cosmopolitan life alive in her fiction—a blend of romance, fast-paced Chicago living, and a sprinkle of magical realism. In her past incarnation she was an interior designer, not a decorator, a designer, which basically means she has a piece of paper to prove that she knows how to match things, measure things and miraculously make mundane pieces of furniture appear to be masterpieces. Elizabeth says being an interior designer is one part shrink, one part marriage counselor and one part artist, skills eerily similar to those employed in writing.

Elizabeth grew up in Illinois, but has also lived in Texas and Florida. If she’s not pounding her head against the wall trying to get the words just right, you can find her at a softball field out in the boonies somewhere or sitting in the bleachers by a basketball court. Elizabeth resides with her husband, girls, and two cats who’ve spelled everyone into believing they’re really dogs.

Elizabeth has traveled extensively, but still says there’s no town like Chi Town.

Review: The Resurrected: Part One (The Resurrected #1) By Megan Hart

The Resurrected: Part One

Title: The Resurrected: Part One (The Resurrected #1)

Author: Megan Hart

Published: October 11th 2011

Publisher: Chaos Publishing

Kindle Edition

Pages: 42

Goodreads Synopsis:

When a series of freak storms sweep across the world, they leave behind something more than devastation. First come the swift-growing flowers, smelling like heaven and dying as quickly as they bloom. Next comes the infestation as the flowers breed and multiply inside their hosts. After that, chaos, mayhem and death.

And after that…resurrection.

My Review:

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I picked up The Resurrected: Part One as a free download from Amazon.

Abbie meets Cal in a bar and they hit it off. Then they decide to go back to her hotel room and have a little "fun". Cal wakes Abbie up during the middle of the night to tell her that they are having a tornado. Cal and Abbie get in the bathtub to ride out the storm. When the storm is over Cal and Abbie head out to find his ex-wife and child.

This is the first book in a 10 part series of The Resurrected. I call it a book but it is more like a short story than a book. Megan Hart is releasing it in short burst. She is only giving you a little of her book at a time. The last time I checked there were only 10 parts.

I love reading books about zombies and end of the world type books. Even though The Resurrected is a short story it read like a full length novel. Megan Hart knows how to write a story. I kind of like how she is only giving you a little of Cal and Abbie's story at one time. After saying that I would really like to have the whole story all at once.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Milk Carton People is a paranormal thriller about people who suddenly find themselves invisible, able to observe things but unable to participate. Do they go mad? Maybe they find others. It is quite possible that there is no point in being invisible.

This is a book that plays on the very thin line of sanity and pure despair. The characters act and react to the new challenges and the reader gets to go along for the ride.

EXCERPT

I’m going to wake up, now, and go about my day with my cup of coffee. By the time I get to work, the whole thing will disappear like all dreams. I won’t even remember it.

She turned away from the little tree and took a few steps down the sidewalk. She intended to turn back toward the book store again, to somehow retake control of her destiny. As if turning back would give everyone one more chance to tell her it was all in fun and she was such a good sport.

Just then, a woman in an electric blue colored coat, walked right into her.

“Excuse, me,” Ruth began and stopped speechless. For one long, drawn out, slow motion, nightmare second, her vision was obscured by a brownish red filter which blurred everything before her. She felt hot, sticky, and confined. A cloying odor of spoiled hamburger made her gasp for clean air. She tasted copper pennies in her mouth. At the same time Ruth heard a gurgling noise and a squeak and as the whole event suddenly ended she heard a plop like pudding falling from a spoon back into the bowl.

A sudden cold sweat competed with stomach acid lurching into her throat. Ruth swallowed it back and turned to watch as the woman in electric blue continued walking down the sidewalk without breaking stride. Ruth watched the woman in the electric blue coat disappear around the corner.

“No,” Ruth said aloud with authority. “No,” she repeated louder, hoping make it all go away. “This did not happen.”

She walked to the nearest building and stood close to the cold bricks in the shadows.

I have to go home.

Allied with her first love, and more powerful than any teenage girl ever dreamed, Marissa gains confidence and believes she can do anything. Together, can this improbable duo save Marissa’s family and the world from the demon before it’s too late?

Interview

  1. What inspired you to write The Beckoning?

    • I have always been interested in two things, history and the paranormal. In college I’ve written two theses on slavery in the American South. Because of that I have always been interested in old antebellum mansions and ghosts and demons. The Beckoning is a natural marriage of the two.

  2. When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

    • I believe that I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I started relatively late in life when it comes to writing fiction perhaps because I wasn’t brave enough. I am happy that I have conquered my fears and started to write fiction. I don’t plan on stopping any time soon.

  3. What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

    • Because I am dyslexic I didn’t finish reading my first full-length book until I was in the fifth grade. It was a history book on the story of submarines. I’ve been reading ever since.

  4. What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

    • I don’t believe that I love any one particular genre over the other. To be a good writer, one should expose his or herself to various different styles and subjects. That being said, I do like to legal thrillers like Grisham, paranormals like Stephen King or history books.

  5. What is your favorite book?

    • That would be a tough one. The Client by John Grisham sticks out in my mind, as does Pet Cemetery by Stephen King and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown.

  6. You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

    • Out of all of them, I think that Stephen King is my all time favorite. Anyone who can make me sleep with the lights on and still look forward to picking up his book the next night has to get my vote.

  7. If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?

    • Being that I teach Native American History and have written the textbook that I now use in my class, I would have to go back to the time of the Mississippian empire of around 1100 AD that existed around St. Louis. I would love to see their pyramids in all their grandeur.

  8. When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

    • Getting the story out is the easy part for me. Once I get the story in my mind, it continually pecks away at my brain until I get it out. It is a relief to get it out and on paper. It is the editing of the story that is more difficult. Thank goodness for my editor, Neal Hock. He is worth every penny.

  9. Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

    • I have a dog named Roscoe who was my inspiration for Max in The Beckoning. He is a true protector of the family and never lets an opportunity to jump up and hug me every time I get near the stairs go by.

  10. What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?

    • I have an extreme weakness for two foods. I make a baked macaroni and cheese from smoked Gouda and aged cheddar that I can’t resist. I also love almost every flavor of ice cream.

  11. Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

    • Be strong. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it and don’t listen to agents. The book The Help was rejected 60 times. That being said, always believe in yourself and never stop writing.

EXCERPT

Prologue

Her fingernails dug into his wrist, as her scream pierced the air.

“God damn it!” he cursed. “Don't you let go of me – don't let go!”

But this was a battle they were both losing. The pulsing abyss beneath her was relentless, swallowing everything too close to it, like some ominous, living black hole, and she was more than too close to it – she was dangling above it, her feet touching the hungry darkness.

Terror gripped her – an unforgiving fear she'd never known, and she'd known a lot of fear.

For a second, exhaustion took her over, and her fingers slipped a little.

“No!” he shouted, and squeezed his hand in a tighter vice around her wrist. His other hand – the left one – was buried in the earth. He had pegged himself into it in an attempt to stop their forward movement. He had his legs entwined around a tree trunk, but the tree was now coming up at the roots, bowing to the force of the suction. Every muscle in his body was straining, bulging unnaturally – she wondered if he'd ripped any yet. Hell, he was strong – but not strong enough.

She looked up, forcing her head to move against the pull of the abyss, and met his eyes. Steely grey, and usually so steady, they were now marred with panic and anger. But still he held her gaze, and still – despite the horror of what was about to happen – she found a semblance of peace within his presence.

“Let me go,” she whispered.

Her answer was a tenacious growl.

“It'll pull you in if you don't. It doesn't want you, it wants me. Let me go.”

He tightened his hold on her.

Damn it! She won't risk him. Not now, not ever.

She spoke to him in the Old Tongue. “I’m not supposed to be here – it was always going to be this way.”

Determination hardened his features.

My God, he's stubborn.

“I love you,” she whispered, and let the truth of her words touch him, seep into him, through the all-consuming connection they shared – one which she suspected was about to be ripped to shreds.

He was momentarily stunned at the weight behind her words. She had him off-guard, and in that split second, with a strength she didn't know she possessed, she brought her left hand up, fighting against the vacuum with all she had, and tore into his cheek with her nails.

Startled, his grip loosened, and it was enough.

She yanked her right hand out of his.

His look of shock quickly turned to one of both rage and desperation when he finally realised what she'd done.

Blood seeped through the cuts on his cheeks. Her own face stung in response.

“Forgive me,” she pleaded. “You mean too much to me.”

Tears welled in his eyes.

Tears? Oh, no, m’angeal, don't cry. I'm not worth your tears.

“I'll find you, I swear it,” he choked out.

As the abyss closed up around her, she uttered a prayer, and she had no idea whether she was praying that he would, or that he wouldn't.

Chapter One

Mary jolted awake, then moaned as the pounding in her head dominated all her senses. A nightmare? No. This pounding felt like normal pain – the kind you had when you hit your head, not the type of pain that seared her during her nightmares.

What had woken her up? A dream? But she didn't have dreams – not normal dreams, anyway...

She tried to grasp at it and failed, the throbbing in her skull preventing her from going in too deep.

And she was hot – too hot – baking hot.

Where the fuck am I?

And far too quickly, she remembered her encounter with the monster in the prison, and being dropped into the hole in the ground. A portal of some kind? The memories rushed at her – they came so quickly, she thought she might puke. Ugh. She remembered being thrown down and cracking her head on the cement. Shit. She hoped she didn't have concussion.

Gingerly, she tried to move and realised that something was crusted onto the left side of her face, which smarted big time – she guessed it was her blood. Her face felt mangled. She must have done it when she'd cracked her head. A glance down at herself told her she was naked. That meant she'd been undressed.

Fuck.

She mentally assessed her body, trying to figure out if she'd been messed with in any way. It felt the same as usual, apart from her arms. Looking up with effort, she could see that her hands were tightly secured above her head in metal cuffs, each attached to a stone wall by short, linked chains.

She gave her hands a little wriggle. Pins and needles shot down to her elbows, which ached. She winced. Could this be any worse?

"She awakes,” came a voice, low and soft, to her right.

It just got worse.

Breaking The Rules
by Dianna Hardy

A few months back, I changed my title to “fantasy author” as opposed to “paranormal romance author”, because I was finding it hard to write to a rulebook. I guess every genre has a certain amount of rules, but romance has a lot of rules. It’s not romance’s fault; it’s just that rules don’t suit me, lol.

As soon as I’m told I can’t do something, the first thing I want to do is prove that I can. “Rules are there to be broken” is a big motto of mine.

And that’s why I started to call myself “fantasy author”. It gives you so much more leeway. As a fantasy author, you can be writing paranormal romance, or urban fantasy, or dark fantasy, or historical fantasy, or fantasy romance, or a mesh of all of those... essentially, anything that is not quite “real” is okay. That’s great – I finally had room to breathe! And suddenly it doesn’t matter so much where I go with the story... the characters can lead the way without me pulling them back and saying, “No, no, no, you can’t go that way – there are rules against that!”

Writing The Witching Pen series has been one hell of a journey for me. I’ve learnt so much about my writing and myself, and you’ll see it in the books themselves. You’ll see, not just the journey of the characters, but how my writing (and genre) changed and evolved... It’s still evolving.

I love to write romance. I love to write love. I love to write hot, passionate scenes. But I love doing it my way more ;)

The Witching Pen Novellas are available in digital format, with the first trade paperback having been released in April. All info and buy links can be found on the series website The Witching Pen Novellas.

And thanks so much to Nancy for taking the time to read and review this series.

My Review

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a copy of The Demon Bride by the author Dianna Hardy for an honest review.

The Witching Pen (book one) and The Sands Of Time (book two) are both truly amazing books. But I think Dianna has really topped it off with The Demon Bride. With each book her writing just keeps getting better and better. The Demon Bride was off the chain as they say.

I loved all the characters Elena, Karl, Pueblo , Amy, Gwain and Mary. But I think Gwain and Mary were my favorite characters or couple. I love their relationship how one could feel what the other felt. The bond that they had was unlike anything I have read before.

When I finished The Sands Of Time (book two) I had all these questions about Mary. Like who is she, where did she come from, what is she? All of my questions was answered in The Demon Bride and then some. You know that saying watch what you ask for you just might get it? Well I certainly did with The Demon Bride.

You know when you think about demons you think that all demons are bad. They will hurt you and kill you. In The Demon Bride some will but not all. I loved the fact that some of the demons were good and some of the angles in the story were bad. Its like good versus evil, light and dark, yin and yang. There is good people on both sides.

I would love to read more about Gwain, Mary, Elena, Karl, Pueblo and Amy. They have a lot more to tell us. I really hope that Dianna will tell us more of their stories. The Demon Bride was out of this world. I don't see how their stories could get any better.

If you have not read The Witching Pen Novellas I suggest you pick up a copy of all three books today! You will not regret it in a million years.
